Yeah but she never opened her mouth towards him either. And Artemis also seems to open up easier to her female teammates.
It was weird the show didn't do much with that Artemis/Conner subplot. I assumed there wasn't time. I don't read the side comic where edited material is dumped, after all.
No I attribute it to the possibility that Artemis COULD see something in Wally just like she did at that time. Just because she doesn't immediately follow up on it doesn't mean she won't. It's more of a slow burn for her. Her time alone with "Amnesia Wally" is at least in her head, it doesn't mean she'll forget about it. It's what I believe is subtly influencing some of her actions with him. Greg Weisman is great with subtlety like that.
If it weren't for THAT I might see it from your p.o.v.
It did help that "Amnesia Wally" was the first person she happened to be near when the Psimon Blast wore off. I see your point I just would have an easier time feeling it if it wasn't as artificially constructed. At least it's not the Holodeck.
Wally obviously liked her; he didn't care that she said she wanted to kill him because she was hot. I was convinced Artemis liked his attention, but that's not the same.
It didn't start out in the comics as unpleasant either.
In the comics, Superman has ice-breath; he doesn't here. Thus, we can't assume everything from the comics will be translated, so it's best to wait and see. For the moment at least Wally's home life seems idyllic, or at least far more pleasant than anyone else's on the show.
What makes you think she cares about the quality of his homelife either way?
People tend to have an easier time relating to people who share similar circumstances.
I don't think hero quality has anything to do with it. He also didn't become a worse hero either.
"DENIAL" would have been totally counter-productive if he got worse.
I interpreted that as him saying he's not gonna say anything about that. Albeit a Grinch reference. Notice how Wally didn't wait for her to respond, and just changed the subject to her bow. That's why I didn't see that as him hitting on her with that line.
I notice you didn't touch my other point with a ten foot--
Uh, next quote!
Who says thats the only type of guy she likes?
It's the one who caught her eye first.
Where did you get that from?
Inferences. Artemis obviously respects and trusts Robin during "HOME FRONT" and another episode where Megan tried to pitch Kaldur at her, and Artemis said he's like a brother. Obviously she values the traits they have to a degree. Wally's the complete opposite of that, though.
I think your reading too much in to that, especially when some of that is her fathers influence.
Clearly her father was a bad influence.
Why do you keep attributing battle success to what she would see in a guy?
I assume Artemis is often irritated and annoyed by Wally because he, among other things, talks a big game and can't back it. He fronts like he's the MVP when he's the weakest link. She doesn't appreciate his sense of humor and she's had to bail him out at times. I think she'd respect him more if he didn't have as much of a false bravado.
A trait of beligerent sexual tension.
Which I have never understood nor cared for in a lot of fiction. By that logic, every domestic dispute on "COPS" is just interrupted kismet. I'm sure there are some instances of it that I have liked, but this version just isn't clicking right for me. Usually I just don't understand it at all.
I listed the other things, it's just that you don't seem to see what creative was trying to get you to see in Bereft. You just feel there was nothing there.
Alot of other fans feel otherwise.
I feel "BEREFT" was an awkward place to start a relationship which was artificially induced from a poorly planned starting point and awkwardly followed up on. Aside for that, awesome episode.
Yeah but the audience doesn't take him as seriously, nor does he take himself as seriously.
Depends on the version of Casey Jones. The original Mirage Comics version in the 80's took himself very seriously and was a maniac - he'd try to kill people for ripping off tape decks. The one from the cartoons was often toned down or played for comedy. The 2k3 version was sort of an idealized jock. And so on. The version from the IDW comic actually had a long page long reason for using hockey equipment.
