Young Justice Cartoon - Part 8

You know 2 years ago I would say that this would probably never happen, but in 10-15 years if the WB keeps going at the rate they are with their movies, or lack there of, and cartoons I can honestly see a company like Disney making them a ridiculous offer and buying the rights to DC.

I know that sounds crazy, but everyone has their price and if George Lucas is willing to part with Star Wars for 4.6 Billion I wonder how much WB would be willing to let DC go...and I'm sure by then Disney won't mind paying for the properties.

Stranger things have happened!

DC, Marvel and Star Wars intertwining?

That would be the sound of multiple head explosions.

I'm kind of afraid of what Legend of Korra is gonna end up as. TMNT is an action show on Nickelodeon but it has enough wacky humor to balance what the suits want.

Not sure if they would intertwine on screen (small or big) as I doubt that lol. Could see that happening in the comics the way they did Supes meets the thundercats or he-man...different dimensions crossing over.

However, I definitely wouldn't want Marvel and DC existing in the same universe lol. However, a X-Men/Avengers vs. the Justice League ongoing cross-over (again lol) would be nice!

Yes, action cartoons are coming to an end.....I miss the 80s/90s so much right now lol.

Ugh, this really whomps. I'm gonna skip on the TT:GO and Beware the Batman.

Color me not surprised. And I am guessing that Mystery Inc is only on there because they still havent finished out season 2 yet.

You guys seem surprised. The writing has been on the wall for months.

Don't go all beserk on me, but this might not be the worst thing to happen. Greg said that if the show were picked up for a third season there'd be yet another time skip, with more new characters to throw in, no doubt, along with more baggage to deal with. I was barely getting used to the fact that we wouldn't be seeing the original members of the Team as much as last season, but if we're having to go through even more characters, they lose whatever effect they previously had on me. I mean we have many new characters and we barely have any depth to them with the exception of Jaime and possibly Bart.

I'm sorry, but that's just how I feel about YJ right now.

Speaking of Mr. Weisman, the poor guy's had to endure A LOT of stupidity these passed years. I sympathize with the man and hope his next project is more successful.

Who knows how long the time skip would be, probably not 5 years thats for sure.

The sad thing is Weisman will probably just stop trying with Comic book related properties for a while now. He's been absolutely burned now twice on two really amazing shows.

Spectacular Spider-man is almost unquestionably the best Marvel cartoon ever. While an argument can be made that Young Justice was the best DC cartoon ever (yes, including Batman: The Animated Series and its derivatives) or at least a top 2-3 DC cartoon.

The sad fact is, until cartoons are overly acceptable for adults, especially good, action, and story oriented cartoons, we will never get a long-running series like the ones we want. They just aren't marketable.

I know I'm guilty of it. I catch most of the episodes online because the TV schedule that they give these shows is so God-awful. So I don't contribute to the ratings (lately I've watched them OnDemand to counter that).

It's just a damn shame. These shows were funny, smart, witty, and deep. They had intriguing over arching story lines that kept you coming back for more... But for an 8-year-old, they don't want that. They want a new gizmo that week and a fresh villain to make an action figure out of...

When I was 5-11 I watched Batman: The Animated Series religiously. And you know what? I owned all of the Kenner/Matel action figures and only ever wanted the original paints...the ones that looked like the characters in the show. Not the weird "Fire Storm Batman" or whatever the specific gimmick was. I wanted to play out a cool story... But maybe I was the exception. Maybe I was a weird 9-year-old.

I would have been in heaven being a kid with this Young Justice cartoon... The kids today don't know how good they had it.

Best Marvel Toons:

1.) Spectacular Spider-man
2.) X-Men: Evolution
3.) Spider-man: The Animated Series
4.) X-Men: The Animated Series
5.) Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
6.) Wolverine and the X-Men

DC's Best Toons:

1.) Batman: The Animated Series (Includes Gotham Knights)
2.) Justice League (includes Justice League: Unlimited)
3.) Young Justice
4.) Batman Beyond
5.) Superman: The Animated Series
6.) Green Lantern: The Animated Series
7.) The Batman

The original Teen Titans doesn't even SMELL the top 5 list for DC toons. And this new Teen Titans: GO! is just going to be more of the same...maybe worse. I'll pass. I'll give Beware: The Batman a shot, but we'll see. The Ultimate Spider-man had a chance to really be something. There is good talent behind the show -- but they blew it by straying from the source and making just a kiddy-weird show. The japanese style art that pops in during the action is just so damn stupid. Talk to kids like they're adults and they'll appreciate it!

Weisman gave us TWO of those top-13 shows... To me, the guy is as good as Bruce Timm -- just hasn't been given the opportunity to shine. It's a damn shame.

Even though this is possible(Disney can't make their own stuff work so they just buy (buy buy) an sell it as their own(paramounts success with marvel).

Lucas wanted to sell star wars. 10 years ago when he was invested in his work he would have walked way from that deal with some first born children if he were to even consider selling it at all. He was looking for a deal and Disney made the first offer.

I mean seriously that money will be made back(gross wise) the full returns of 2 films.

**** you cartoon network! In dead serious I am never watching that channel again. I'll just download Venture Bros, Boondocks and Black Dynamite when they come back. If I knew how I'd remove it from my list of channels right now. **** cartoon network and **** WB

Wiseman was responsible for gargoyles.
and that my friends was the best ever.

And so the Greg Weisman curse of him never being able to have a season 3 for any of his series continues...

We all knew it was probably going to get cancelled but hoped there was something to save it.

On the other hand i'm relived because now CN won't play around with it (schedule wise) anymore. It took the show out of it's misery.

Maybe CN will stretch the remaining episodes till 2015 >_>

so I now have a reason to sleep in on Saturdays

Hey, it may have been 10 years for all we know.

I agree whole-heartedly. Spectacular Spider-Man had potential, SERIOUS potential and it ended on a note that was just begging to have it renewed. Hopefully if they're working on the finale they won't end it on a cliff-hangar that would be positively horrible.

True dat.

That'd be cruel. To EVERYONE.

I doubt it would have been 10 years. We wouldn't see a yj in their 30s and he has already tapped into the latest generation of side kicks. I don't think it would've been as drastic as it was this year.
