Well Brave & Bold Batman was more or less about training heroes. ;) He's doing the same here.

Oh, well, of course it wasn't, but I was just talking about the "brooding" Batman, the black on grey Batman; not the bright blue Batman.

I kind of wish someone else were going to be overseeing the team, but Batman does make sense. I'm just kind of sick of Batman being "the guy" for virtually everything.

Agreed, this seems more like Superman's expertise instead of Batman's imho.

So this shows univerise is the same as Crisis on 2 Earths?

I was thinking the Martian Manhunter, actually. He was always the guy basically running the League in JL/JLU. I liked that element. It gave J'onn a unique identity on the team and it made a lot of sense, since all the other members of the big 7 would naturally be off dealing with their own problems a lot of the time, whereas J'onn doesn't have much else to do besides League business.

In the comic storyline of Young Justice Batman did oversee the team in the very beginning until they proved they were ready to be on their own.

Should i wait for more reprints of "Sins of the Youth" and "League of their Own" trades? Those are the only two trades, and they're like 20-30 bucks on Amazon. :/ Sold out nearly everywhere. Should i have faith in DC that theyre gonna reprint these trades?

It's my experience that pretty much as soon as you give in and buy something like this, the very next day, it's announced that they're coming out with brand new editions. I wouldn't do it, but thats just me. I'm hoping against hope that DC's smart enough to come out with new editions of the softcovers.

Yeah i'm gonna wait and see really. I'm getting the upcoming mini-trade atleast. :) Thats a brand new product.

Sins of Youth collects some random arc within Young Justice's run, right? I always saw it in shops and thought I should give it a try since I always meant to read the YJ series but missed the boat while it was being published. But I don't want to read that, only to find that it's a collection of like #27-33 or some randomness like that. I want to read the whole YJ series.

The only three trades of YOUNG JUSTICE that ever existed are:

- DC PRESENTS: YOUNG JUSTICE (which collects JLA: WORLD WITHOUT GROWN-UPS, the prelude mini to YJ)
- YOUNG JUSTICE: A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN (which collects YJ #1-7 & YJ Secret Files #1)
- YOUNG JUSTICE: SINS OF YOUTH (which collects, I believe, a few issues around YJ #19-20 or round about)

And, to be technical, there was also a trade called SPYBOY/YOUNG JUSTICE, which featured their crossover with the Dark Horse franchise, worked on by the same creative team.

The series ran about 4-5 years before Geoff Johns helped end it and merge it into the relaunch of TEEN TITANS. I think the series ended around issue #50. Which is, actually, a very long run for a series that began in 1998.

That'd be even better.

Yeah i'll get the DC presents, and except DC to get more prints out of League of their Own. :) Thanks for the info, mate.

Cool. I already read the World Without Grown-Ups story in the individual prestige issues when it came out. Didn't know about A League of Their Own, though. I'll have to try and get that.

Dang, talk about a stroke of luck. I wanted to pick up A League of Their Own because it's the first arc and Spyboy/YJ because it's kind of its own thing and wouldn't necessarily be too out of order if I read it early. So I checked Amazon--nothing, looks like they're out of print because the only ones left are from independent sellers and they're like $30 or more. Checked my local library's catalog and sure enough, the only YJ trades they have are A League of Their Own and Spyboy/YJ. Granted, I gotta drive to a branch that's like half an hour away, but I like driving on the highway now and then, so that's not a big deal. :hehe:

Thats some good luck. =O Yeah i think i wanna wait rather then pay something for 30 bucks. I really have this optimistic feeling we might get reprints on this trade.

I think we may to DRZ, with the release of S/B:Public Enemies we got a big reprint of that trade so I would assume with a big launch of a TV show we will get a reprint of those trades too.

It seems likely that DC would issue new prints of these 3 YOUNG JUSTICE trades when the show starts (although who knows about the Spy Boy thing; that's a franchise that seemed like it was going somewhere and then just died). The question will be whether DC packages the rest of the run into trades and releases it. Packaging and reprinting stuff does take some effort, especially for comics that are quite old and with DC's continuity shifting about 15 times since YJ ended. On the other hand, there's no better time to do so than when the cartoon is on.

I hear you Dread and to go just a tad off topic are you planning to review Batman: Under The Hood, Dread?

I bought it last night but I didn't watch it since I had to get up early today. Since I've had to write for Examiner, I've spent less time reviewing some stuff on SHH. I know there are some DTV's or movies I probably skipped reviewing. But I do intend to see it.

In a totally unrelated survey of YouTube, it seems the release of the YJ trailer has sparked 2 new "my thoughts" videos within the last 3 days. There have been zero for "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" within that time. So I am curious if YJ is winning the buzz battle despite it's trailer actually showing less animation than the Avengers one did (while seeming to show more data and energy).

Oh i gotcha, I was just curious. You give great reviews and some people are comparing it to MOTP and ROTJ which is just absurd in my mind. I was curious to your thoughts on it when you of course get the chance to watch it.

I have been severely underwhelmed by Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it just doesnt look that good to me.

Got down to posting my review of UNDER THE RED HOOD here: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=331830&page=32 :awesome:

Guess who drove to an adjacent town to pick up some YJ trades today? THIS GUY! I'm totally reading the first one before I go to sleep tonight.
