Transformers YOUR BIGGEST WTF moments, including Plotholes, etc, etc of the TF movie THREAD!

I think the idea of The allspark was just a cheap way to not use the word "THE MATRIX" because that what it is .

actually they're two different concepts and I prefer they remain that way.

When?

I remember him saying it to the Autobots at the observatory...

He told Sam that if he couldn't defeat Megatron then Sam would need to put the Allspark in his chest, destroying the Allspark and himself. That was in the final battle. Then he says to Sam at the last moment that Sam was willing to sacrifice himself to keep the Allspark from Megatron, and that it was his turn to sacrifice, and told him to join it with his Spark.

Im all for more and more robots so long as they have some importance to the story. X-3 introduced a truckload of characters, and some characters were hardly developed. Which makes it hard for the audience to connect, which mean s if said character died, the emotional impact would be pretty low.
Kinda like Jazz's death.
I'd hate to see Bay think that more = better. Otherwise, a great first movie would probably end up like the Shrek/Spidey/PotC franchise.

THE MATRIX -(Transformers)

I think that is my biggest problem with the climax in general. We get this amazing fight, but we only get part of it, and there is no emotional gravity given to things I think are important. Give me less slow-mo Ironhide flipping over a screaming lady and give me more emotional impact to the death of a hero. There were times where the shaky, poorly framed camera work was used really well, but not there. There are plenty of ways to ground that scene, and tug at the heartstrings. First, you make it clear in your coverage of the scene that Jazz stands his ground when the others run. You show him, the smallest Autobot clearly making the choice to stand against the largest Decepticon. You show his face, you show the determination in his eyes. Show him lower his face guard...sure they would be cliche shots, but Sam and Mikela get their cliche hero shots, and "No matter what happens I'm glad I got in the car with you" moments. Jazz just gets a human POV shot from behind, poorly framed where he is picked up, taken to the top of a building and disposed of. No dramatic music, no tension building camera work, or closeups...no gravity. The dialog was great, but it was such a cop out. I blame a LOT of the problems with the last battle in the city on Michael Bay's inexperience in shooting coverage for CGI characters. He didn't get closeup background plates a lot of the time for the Transformers, and ILM was working against that. He can shoot for special effects, but when characters are involved that he can't see and frame, and that he has no respect for as characters, this is what you get.

As I said in my review I know it's full of flaws, but I couldn't help loving it.

Yes I agree.

The second half could've easily took the movie to another level. But I found myself bored a good portion of the time because there was no real sense of danger. It was like a video game rather than a suspenseful war scene. If Bay had just given the second half more emotional resonance this movie would be a classic summer movie (T2, Jurassic Park, Raiders, Star Wars). Instead it serves as a solid start to a mega-franchise and one of the best summer movies in years. So that's worth something even if the movie comes up a bit short compared to the all time greats.

The only WTF moment I experienced was "I... am... MEGATRON!"

Ok, for coolness of entry it was pretty cool, but how did he learn English? He was frozen before ever gaining the opportunity to learn and once thawed he was suddenly a fluent speaker.

Explanation 1: Mental processes were operational enough to learn from the conversation of the tiny fleshlings working close around him. In this case he would have been dimly aware of the passage of time, so I'm thinking he'd be pretty pissed off upon waking and feel like indulging in a little more random destruction on the way out.

Explanation 2: High speed download. He was close to midget information broker Frenzy who undoubtedly would have filled him in with all pertinent data: The proximity and aproximate location of the Allspark, Autobot meddling, humanity and it's technology, local communication systems (including the English language).

I'm backing Explanation 2 personally. :oldrazz:

look at how quick the autobots learned earth/english when they arrived.

It seems reasonable that when a Transformer is able to hack a system in a minute, that would normally take 20 years, they should be able to browse the web in a matter of moments. That's how Megatron could've easily learned english upon his awakening.

Barricade disappearing. Hopefully there's a deleted scene with him for the DVD. He was too cool to be forgotten like that.

Well he's not much of a warrior anyway and I have a hunch that that wasn't him on the freeway.

Just a point on that: Bumblebee had the opportunity to beam information back to them for several years. Some of the transformers also had time to dissect a mars rover (if the viewer accepts the trailer footage and backstory as canon). In other words all but Megatron had the opportunity to master English for a lengthy period of time.

Prime calling the All Spark a cube in the intro.

Blackout having wipeout powers during the base attack that he never uses again, especially when he could have used them to stop everything during the downtown fight.

Indian phone guy.

Frenzy walking past agents looking at him on the runway.

Bumblebee leaves Barricade alive, yet Prime kills Bonecrusher without a thought.

Frenzy's cheating transformation into a cellphone.

Autobots entry points. Trying to blend in and hide, yet they land in highly populated, bright and public places.

Prime's transformation takes too long, especially when he arrives to the downtown fight.

Actually saying the word "*********ion." And not even just once!!!

Bumblebee peeing on Turturro.

Megatron and Starscream speaking english at any time. Why bother?

Jazz fighting Megatron on the ground then reappearing on the top of a building.

Hey, let's fight in a highly populated metropolitan community where it's difficult to find and hold a position!!!

I'm sure I'll think of more...

If you had a weapon on you, and you woke up surrounded by ugly, strange looking creatures, you'd be pretty pissed/angry/terrified.

Blame the editing room for leaving Prime vs. Barricade out. Either that, or Bay was down to his last penny. Probably figured the average person wouldnt even realise Barricade missing when all Decepticons are grey/white.

No I think Barricade's cut scene is actually a Good thing. That will leave a chance Barricade is gonna be in The Sequel!

If Megatron had not spoken to each other in English or Megatron hadn't spoken English in the climax fans would *****.

Megatron carried Jazz up to the top of the building, they showed it quite clearly.

All of these, besides the last one, are nitpicks to me. There are considerably bigger problems with this movie than those.

this might have been explained in the movie, but where the fuack did Optimus Prime disappear to when all the other Autobots were fighting the Decepticons near the end!?! the part when Bumblebee was wounded and Jazz ripped in half?!

He was getting ready for his dramatic entry. :o

It's been explained, and I thought was somewhat obvious in the movie.

The others were way ahead because they continued on to the city while Op tore Bonecrusher a new a-hole on the freeway.

Plus he was supposed to be dealing with Barricade.

Man...if ANYTHING should have been reproduced from the 86 film in this movie it should have been Optimus blasting his way into the air to take out a few Decepticons before landing to face Megatron one on one.

This deserves it's own thread because there's quite a few of them in there:

Prime saying- "My bad!" O.K, haha you got me. Earlier reviews said it wasn't in there, but i heard it as clear as day. Jokes on me.

Frenzy or should i say Gizmo/Gremlin tip toeing inbetween ppl after he escapes from Air Force one, in plain view to meet up with Barricade, and nobody see's him. WTF?

The cop trying to intimidate Sam at the police station with the gun. WTF?:

Devastor/Brawl being everybodys punching bag. WTF?

Bonecrusher being owned by Prime after only getting One minute and 30 seconds of screentime.WTF?

WTF happened to Barricade????????????

Megs came to Earth so he can turn all of Earths technology into an army using the Allspark..thousands of years ago...when Earth had no modern technology. And if he had succeeded in possessing the Allspark, and hadn't been frozen in the first place, microchips/modern technology wouldn't have been around anyway (In TF-verse) because Sector Seven would never have got their hands on him. Isn't that like asking what comes first, the chicken or the egg..?

1. The "my bad" thing is not a big deal. I am sure that there is something better to complain about. How about the genocide over in the Sudan. While we are sitting here whining because Optimus says "My bad", this is happening.

I know this is way out there, but to me it puts things in perspective.

2. It is not that far fetched to believe that Frenzy was able to walk a few feet to a cop car without being seen when everyone is worried about the people inside the plane.

3. The cop trying to intemidate sam. BIG DEAL. Well, we see this in many many movies, but for some reason it isnt right in this one.

4. Devestator came in right when all of the battles started. Of course he is gonna recieve some fire.

5. Bonecrusher has nothing on optimus.

6. Not sure about Baracade. I will see it again this weekend, so maby it will answer any questions taht I might have.

7. Megatron didnt come to earth to turn all technology into robots. He came to earth to find the allspark. However, after centuries of being on Earth, we developed Technology which gave him the means to create an army on earth.

Well he's not much of a warrior anyway and I have a hunch that that wasn't him on the freeway.
It was obviously him, especially given Sam's reaction. The script and comic indicate this as well. Too bad it was cut, I was really looking forward to a 2 vs 1 fight with Prime :(
