Man...if ANYTHING should have been reproduced from the 86 film in this movie it should have been Optimus blasting his way into the air to take out a few Decepticons before landing to face Megatron one on one.

But as he just said in the recent interview, after 15 minutes he turned it off. So he never got to see that scene.

It's been explained, and I thought was somewhat obvious in the movie.


The others were way ahead because they continued on to the city while Op tore Bonecrusher a new a-hole on the freeway.

But i distinctly remember seeing a TV spot or trailer. Don't remember which one. But Frenzy actually runs around in the Witwicky house. Don't know why it got cut from the film.

I didn't say i didn't enjoy the film. I did, and do. But it's not even in the same league as this TF movie.

And cool scenes can and are often found in terrible movies; as often the emphasis is on the cool scene itself, and not the larger tale being told.

I can't blame Micheal Bay for feeling this way. I liked the 86 movie when I was a kid but, there's no way I could watch the whole movie again. My interest evaporates after Prime dies.

I think he clearly did. He even said as much: "I'm not making a cartoon movie." [paraphrased]

Still, I think it was a lot of fun, if not what I had hoped for thematically. I will now commence praying to the Great Sky Gerbil that Steven Spielberg jumps out of the producer's chair and takes the reins of a sequel.

The original cartoons are a nice time capsule but they don't hold up all that well. Even the movie and I love the movie. But I do look back on it with rose-tinted glasses.

Yes, the opening stuff with Megatron killing most of the Autobots is cool. Prime coming in, jumping into the air, and shooting down Decepticons is cool. But besides those scenes, it's fairly melodramatic and boring. Although I do love Springer's line, "I have better things to do tonight then die" or something along those lines.

1. The "my bad" thing is not a big deal. I am sure that there is something better to complain about. How about the genocide over in the Sudan. While we are sitting here whining because Optimus says "My bad", this is happening.



I know this is way out there, but to me it puts things in perspective.

2. It is not that far fetched to believe that Frenzy was able to walk a few feet to a cop car without being seen when everyone is worried about the people inside the plane.

Are you serious? He walked in plain view of everyone.

3. The cop trying to intemidate sam. BIG DEAL. Well, we see this in many many movies, but for some reason it isnt right in this one.

It was a completely useless scene. The guy that played the cop was probably a relative of Bay or someone important.

4. Devestator came in right when all of the battles started. Of course he is gonna recieve some fire.

My point is he came off as a punching bag, and they didn't demonstrate how good at combat he was, or is soppose to be.

5. Bonecrusher has nothing on optimus.

7. Megatron didnt come to earth to turn all technology into robots. He came to earth to find the allspark. However, after centuries of being on Earth, we developed Technology which gave him the means to create an army on earth.

Okay, I don't recall the exact verbiage of this scene, so you may be right. But I remember when i heard Sam tell sector 7 this line I thought it was fuxxored because I'd heard it differently earlier. I recall thinking I'd originally heard it as being told Megs came to get the allspark ages ago, but if he awoke NOW he'd have oodles of tech to transform with it. Not that it was his plan, per se, but that it was the logical course of action for him to take.

Actually Ratchet says he "COULD" use the Allspark to do that, he didn't say that was Megatron's plan, just that it was a possibility.

what really fuxxors up a movie like this is being spoiled. I wish I never read so many spoilers. Would have been a whole different experience if I wasn't so into knowing things and junk ahead of time. Still fun to see it all work out though.

The only kinda WTF/plothole moment for me was that it seemed all the new Transformers the All Spark made were Decepticons.

ok well my biggest wtf moment was when you saw barricade get the crap beat out of him and then hes all pretty and nice near the end but you only see him driving thruough the city. my other one was we have no idea what ahppened to scorponok? confused me a lil bit.

in the book prime takes him out on the highway after he killed boncrusher. looks like they cut that out or didn't film that part.
