Your drinking lifestyle.

Well that's a long term thing. I mean there isn't really a short term danger to weed. You wouldn't overdose and die off it, like you can with other drugs, including alcohol.

But yea, long term smoking of the sweet mary jane can **** you up.

Yeah true, I mean the actual physical dangers of smoking weed are certainly less.

You can't 'overdose' on weed. You can most certainly get alchohol poisoning though.

And I think with weed it's a case of everyone's different. I mean plenty of my friends still smoke it to this day. I'd say out of 20 people, 5 of us ended up with some sort of anxiety disorder or paranoia that made us quit.

I like going to local pubs. Couple of them near me that I frequent for a beer or two. Have a nice stock of beer, wine, and liquor at home. I don't drink to get drunk that much as I used to. More about socialization and trying different types of beers and wines at this point.

Called getting old.

That is not the worst thing that can happen as a result of smoking weed...

I am not talking about as a result of solely being inebriated. Of course getting stoned and getting behind a car you could kill yourself or someone else.

But just based on a level of intoxication, a person can't die from smoking too much weed in any one session. Where as anyone can die from drinking too much alcohol in any one session.

If you drink too much, you're an idiot.

If you drive while drunk, you're an idiot.

If you get so plastered you **** around with things, you are an idiot.

I've been plastered, i've walked around a collage town, gotten food, went to bed. And that's it. It was fun. So much fun. You know why I did that? Because I had experience with booze, i've seen my other younger friends act like tools, almost kill themselves, drive drunk, overdose...ect. And I knew, I never wanted to be like them.

So i'm not. You guys have huge misconceptions of the substances here. You guys keep going to the COULD happens, rather then the happens.

Not true. Not true at all. Unless you're so stoned to a point you're falling asleep, then you will crash and die. But most people I know drive stoned. From LONG distances. And they've never had a problem. You'd be suprised how many people drive high.

That being said, I dont personally do it, because I dont want to get pulled over. (Probably the worst thing that can happen) So I dont do it. Not for safty, because it's not that bad. But if you get paranoid, it can be an issue for you personally.

Driving while high is incredibly dangerous. I don't know why your trying to tell people on this forum that it's safe.

Smoking weed slows your reaction times.

That's just science.

Yeah, I know plenty of people who do it. Been in the back of a car when a guy did it and came 2inches from reversing off a cliff late at night.

Been in the passenger seat when my friend scraped the side of her car down the entire wall of a house.

It's not recommended.

Sure. It's not recommended...but it's not a death sentence. That's all I'm saying.

But it all depends on the person. Some people can drive good while high, some can drive godawful.

It's not the same as driving drunk. Still not good to do though.

Just because it doesn't happen, doesn't mean it can't or hasn't. You don't need to tell me, I used to drive high all the time.

I was just using it as an example. No you're motor skills are no where near as impaired as when you're drunk, but they are still impaired.

It's still not a death sentence as drinking is. That's where I was getting act.

I'm strong against not driving high...but I know what's not good, VS. what's HORRIBLE for ya.

If there is drink, I will drink. Anything but gin

rum, cider, some brands of beers... gimme gimme gimme
enjoy a social bevvie with mates
enjoy a brewski while watching a band play
enjoy a cold one when watching a footy game

there's not many places or scenarios when alcohol is not welcome

^ A nice cold, adult beverage can be enjoyed almost anywhere.

Personally, I know some TERRIBLE high drivers. But usually these are the people who are not good drivers in the first place. For many of my friends, including myself, weed helps concentration, and many find themselves driving better while high.
Im not advocating for anybody here to face a blunt and then go for a cruise, but if you can completely trust your abilities as a SOBER driver, and you trust yourself to be in complete control of yourself while high, well, then you should be a-okay.
I would hope that most people on here are old and mature enough to make that decision for themselves.

It's a fact that driving while stoned, greatly impacts your driving ability. It's sort of like the discussion CP and I were having. While we both admit that yes, you can drive while stoned, probably even drive fine, or a-okay while stoned, in reality you shouldn't and it does in fact effect your ability to react and impacts your motor skills.

I drink therefore I am...drunk!

Well, I think that's true yes. But not always. Tolerance has a lot to do with it. Over the years mine has gotten to a point where unless i smoke a lot, I can function perfectly fine without any real change in motor skills or reflexes. But not all people are like that, so it's all about knowing how your body reacts to weed, how well you can function, and above all how well you trust yourself. I believe that's true of any substance.

Pretty much.

I'm not a terrible driver, but i'm just not 100% confindant with myself, hence why I refuse to do it.

I'm 19, so most of my friends are in that age group. They got pissed when they put up a DUI station (???) in the town. I asked why it was a big deal...

They replied..."Well, you gotta get home somehow..." ****ing idiots man!

They also tell me they go up to Colorado State University, which is an Hour and 40 minutes away, get drunk up there, and drive back in the same night....I mean...why? Why???

Sometimes you end up doing stupid **** like this. I've never driven drunk, but i have been in a car with a drunk driver on a few occasions. It's not the smartest thing I've done by a long shot, but every once in a while you're in a situation where you have to buckle up, say a prayer and do everything you can to help them not **** up and get you killed. I would never ever recommend doing this btw, but if you ever have to get into a car with a drunk driver, do everything you can to help them drive. And it really only should be the person in shotgun so that there isnt a lot of argument and voices heard. Ive only been in this situation a few times and have been lucky enough that my friend who was driving is a pretty damn great driver in his own right, although his driving was noticeably worse.
It's usually the people who keep the party going while driving that end up a statistic. However if your friends are repeatedly doing this over and over, then they're just asking for bad luck to hit them hard.

I can understand that to a degree... an I understand doing stupid things once your drunk.... but, to plan a trip and drive 30-45 mins somewhere with the goal of getting drunk, knowing that your going to have to drive home, as he's describing, is a whole another thing...

think ahead, plan a alternate way to get home or bring a designated driver

I completely agree with you, hence the bottom of my post :cwink:

I can attest to that. I once missed the entrance for McDonalds about three times. A car full of high people laughing as we kept having to circle around.

Once me and my friends pulled up to the drive through, and when the guy asked us what we wanted, we all realized that we didn't know. about two minutes of uuuuhhhhs later and we finally ended up ordering a mcdouble just to stop the awkwardness.
high school was aaaallright :whatever:
