Which are you favorite cities in open-world games? There has been many open-word games over the years and some of them have succeeded better than others. What are your favorites and why? Here are some of mine:

Los Santos (GTA V)
Maybe the best city in any open-word game. I haven't visited LA but it looks like the real thing. I enjoy just walking around and looking at the landmarks. It's fun to play because of the city alone.

Empire Bay (Mafia II)
There isn't much you can do in the city but the atmosphere is fantastic. I play the game very often to just drive around with the cars from 50s. I wish they would make more open-world games set in the 40s and 50s. L.A. Noire also had a great city.

Chicago (Watch Dogs)
The game could have been better but I really like the city. All the districs felt different and they were big. I just wish you would have been able to go top of some of the buildings like Willis Tower. That should possible in every open-world game.

True Crime: New York City on PS2 was also great. It's a GPS street-accurate version of Manhattan so it's really big. The only downside is that it takes forever to drive when the next mission is on the other side of the map. I really appreciate the effort they put in.

Liberty City in GTA IV
Los Santos in GTV V
Hong Kong in Sleeping Dogs

If maps as a whole are being included too then Red Dead Redemption's and Just Cause 3's would be on my list as well.

Venice and Florence in Assassin's Creed II were beautiful.

Not really a city, but the Skellige Isles from the Witcher are incredible.

The entire Manhattan and adjacent islands in Spider-Man 2.
I don't remember spending as much time in other games just exploring and going around like I did with this one.

GTAIV Liberty City is the first game where I would actually spend time just walking around the block to take in all the little details.

Paradise City in Burnout Paradise was an awesome area to drive around in.

I can second the cities from Assassin's Creed II, I'll throw Brotherhood's Rome in there too. Being of Italian decent it was very cool to me to see those places rendered that well, and feeling like real environments.

Los Angeles is done superbly in GTAV and also Midnight Club Los Angeles. If you've never been to LA, whenever you visit you will recognize all kinds of places.

Empire City in inFamous was also fun, maybe an honorable mention.

Gotham in Arkham Knight is still mind boggling to me as well.

Not so much a city but the Mojave desert in Fallout New Vegas and the Capital Wasteland in FO3. Love spending hours just wandering the wastes and still finding new things after hundreds of hours of playtime.

-Miami (The Godfather Pt. II) [Note: I wish they would add the game to backwards compatibility.]
-Ikana (Majora's Mask)
-Korriban (KOTOR)
-Rivet City (Fallout 3)

Bully had a lot of interesting areas to explore.
