Your Lounge, Should You Choose To Accept It

I played Injustice 1 an hour or so ago, so I thought of Doomsday first.

What options do you have in mind?

Still thinking. Either want to use something from the opening theme or from something when he is in costume.

Going to prepare a few from the intro. In the meantime, feat your eyes on this Gene Colan cover.

I think I have that issue, actually. But it is very beat up, LOL

Hmmmm...I think I am using one of those...just not sure which. Thanks Aziz! You're the man

Which is frankly backwards. Kylo's villainy and evilness should have been building to a crescendo throughout the trilogy. Not wavering in TLJ.

JJ gave us a faceless creature in a mask, but then half way through TFA he reveals that under the mask is the emotionally vulnerable, torn, person that was indoctrinated. He even had him waver allegiance on the bridge. But once he killed Han and Snoke said, "Bring me Kylo so that I can complete his training." That should have been the end of Ben. In TLJ we should have found Kylo steeped in the darkside, trained, battered, and a more emotionally cold person. Suffering less from the Light side's influence. And by the end of TLJ he should have been Supreme Leader and in full Dark Lord mode. Instead Rian in his own way repeated Kylo's character beats from TFA.

Which isnt entirely wrong, considering TLJ's story takes place only hours after the events of TFA. Because there is no time jump Kylo is the exact same person he was at the end of TFA which really tied the story's hands and slams the brakes on the trilogy's progression. But at the same time Rian is attempting to pull the EBrake he is injecting NOS into the story trying to move the story forward in one huge leap.

Think about it. TFA covers maybe a week at most. TLJ only covers a couple days at most. Think about all the stuff that happened in less than 10 days. Its absurd. It's fine for one film to cover one or two major eventd, all Star Wars films do, but there needs to be a time gap in between films to reset some of the pieces and have character and story progression at a believable pace.

As you can tell I have a love/hate relationship with the film.

Well TLJ also made Finn repeat the same character arc from TFA.

Johnson recreates The Battle of Hoth, recreates the throne room scene from ROTJ with some of the exact same dialogue and giving Snoke the Emperor’s theme, has Rey and Kylo spend most of the movie Force Skyping, and rehashes stuff with Finn and Kylo from TFA, but people call Abrams unimaginative and say Johnson took things in new directions?

Movies Anywhere will be on Xbox and Windows 10 soon. Good for me.

So I saw "Robert Redford" suddenly trending on twitter, and I feared the worst.

But nah, he is just retiring from acting. God Bless.

He still directs though, right?

As far as I know, he retired from acting. I don't think I heard he was retiring from directing.

I am thinking of options for a DD themed avatar (preferably based on the show).
This explains the new AV. :woot:

For a show I love a ton, I couldn't recognize the opening in your avatar.

I was rewatching some episodes, which devolved into I just basically rewatched the whole show, LOL! The opening to DD is second to none for Marvel shows

I personally prefer the intros to Punisher and Iron Fist.

Nice. :woot:

I plan on watching the first 2 seasons again, around the release of season 3. So happy we are getting it this year.

Iron Fist's is meh. I do like Punisher's a lot. Has same basic template as Daredevil.

I will be marathoning both seasons and Defenders starting probably 1 or 2 weeks prior to season 3. Season 3 is probably only behind Avengers 4 for me in terms of excitement for MCU stuff

I'm still waiting for season 2 of Mindhunter. :(

I think they're gonna push Mindhunter season 2 for early next year.

I didn't know he directed.
In 1993 he was nominated for GOLDEN GLOBE for directing A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT.

In 1995 he was nominated for OSCAR for directing QUIZ SHOW.

In 1999 he was nominated for GOLDN GLOBE for directing THE HORSE WHISPERER.

In 1981 he won the OSCAR for directing ORDINARY PEOPLE.

I think I saw the third movie before, or maybe bits of it.

C.Lee, I got to look at a Tucker Torpedo up close at the Automobile Museum in Tupelo, MS a couple weeks ago. It was a huge car. Lots of style. I didn't know the engine was in the rear of the car. They also had a poster of the Jeff Bridges movie next to it.
