Those are words I use. Some seem "skater"-ish or whatever but they're all just words. And I use them because I like them not because of trends.

And if Europe has anything to say to us they'll keep their mouths shut because Bush might just feel like bombing them.

My friend from Germany wants to know why Americans use the term "Awesome" even when it is overused, sounds dumb, and even Europe (which is always behind the US on trends) doesn't even use it anymore.

I toild him when I got back to the States, I'd see what I could do about eradicating "awesome" from our everday use.

Why are Europeans so concerned about what Americans are saying for slang anyway? Tell them to get their own damn trends and stop stealing ours, which are AWESOME!

I say awesome from time to time. Hey, I grew up watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoons and the movies as a kid. Like Bodacious! Radical!

Then came the 90's. And it changed drastically to "That's the BOMB, yo!" and "That's PHAT!" Or "That's TIGHT!" or "That's hard, yo!"

Though I say things like "Fantasmic". A combination of Fantastic and Orgasmic.

I'm sure the crazy kids these days say weird ass stuff that I can't even imagine. I'm slowly entering the age range of being out of touch with pop culture and new slang words.

I'm also a big fan of "OH SNAP!" I've been known to take that a step further by exclaiming, especially around my friends when something crazy cool happens, "Snapalapgus!"

Awesome was always a word I heard as a kid. It was part of everyday use in the Boston area. "Did you see that Celtics game last night? It was wicked awesome!" But I noticed the rest of the country doesn't use it as much. Anyway, it's one of my favorite words, made popular by Michaelangelo and I'm not going to stop using it because some German says I should.

Heh. reminds me of that Eddie Izzard sketch where he was complaining about the same thing. The word awsome implies that you are left in awe, speechles, but now we use it for everything, even hot-dogs.
So when astronauts will go into space and see other planets they'll be like.
"Wow. Houston, you should see this. It's... it's... awesome"
