I was extra-ordinarily lax with you guys, last time, and you took advantage and that's why the thread was closed in the first place. I'm just curious to know what exactly is "toeing the line" here?

I'm aware that there are numerous sexy body parts mentioned, as well as one well deserved mention of my wife being a ******rix on my 40th birthday, but as you and I are well aware, there's more disturbing conversation in Community all the time every day.

We're here to discuss our favorite video games, tv shows, and comic books. On occasion, it gets a tad racy, but the views this thread gets is minimal when compared to those in Community. And I'd like to think that the mods main concern is actual content, as opposed to an offended chip on their shoulders because somebody may be mad at a mod.

We've all had run-ins with the mods, some of us more than others, and while I have nothing but the utmost respect for those that do this thankless job, I also beleive that there are some that have "mod power trips" and do things for no reason other than to appease their own self-worth... as appeasing as that may get when policing a message board.

We've had some beefs Heather, but I have respected you since Day One, and this is a prime example as to why you get my respect. You came in here, and with minimal to no bulls***t, you've effectively told us some things, and I've responded... in hopes of creating a debate where we can address all the give/takes that are required from both parties. I know it can be difficult for either any of us and/or the mods to think that we might be <gasp> "wrong", but with an honest debate, maybe things can be worked out.

And it doesn't help the fact that no matter how honest we've tried these debates in the past, you guys have the VIP Bathroom where you can bad mouth us at any point in time. I still have those pages where HWD and a few others talked about what a dick I was because I got upset with you when you banned PALADIN, but even though I was upset at the time, I never said anything harmful nor regretful to you... and the name-calling by the mods were uncalled for. So you have to cut us some slack when we think some mods are "bad". Because we noth know that the reality is in fact that some of them are.

Anyway, I'm rambling at this point and I'll cut this short.

I think many of us have been respectful towards the mods, and any and all mocking is obviously seen as in jest, and perhaps everybody should just lighten up.

So, we're almost done Buffy Season V and Angel Season II... I think we're starting disk 5 on both.

As a side note, the wife and I have started to watch "Charmed" (it's her idea), and it's pretty damned cheesey. The eye candy is ok, but I can see its "charm".

Tmob - The reason Dew is the one to come in here right now is b/c she seems to be the only one that doesn't get swamped with harassment when trying to deal with some oldbie posters in this manner. As i said when the other Mundi thread was closed, all you have to do is tone down the sexual stuff and it's fine, stuff about *****s, sex with minors and rape is not appreciated here, beyond that there isn't any major issues.

Some of the things you guys seem interested in are actually talked about elsewhere as well, but i guess you are more comfortable just discussing with each other in here, so we let this thread be your lounge.

As for the VIP wash, well the equivalent of that is now over at Lesoft only not hidden since Ive been told of various insults towards me or other mods who make a call here that a poster doesn't like, but there is nothing to stop anyone bad mouthing in PM's which serves as the same function of private anger.

I had a long talk with Daisy a few days ago about the ongoing heat, and we both agreed that there needs to be give and take on both sides or it will simply end in bannings and a mini civil war, which is not good for anyone.

If you want posters to consistently follow your rules and edicts, then consistently enforce them and consistently keep posters informed as well as other mods so you guys are all, you know... consistent.

I would say your initial comment is untrue, as least from my end, because when you dealt with me during the closing of the Rex Mundi thread, even though I barely know you, I treated you with respect because you came across with the same type of respect in your PM's...

We don't specifically need Heather to calm heads here, we need level headed mods that have the ability to recognize when a joke is a joke, and to not get bent when the joke goes overboard. And the convo's between you and me are proof (at least where I am concerned) that what I just wrote is true.

As Lackey stated, and I've been here almost 8 years on a daily basis to see this, we'd all like more consistency from the mods, as opposed to the few that go off a-shootin' and trying to nail that long time trouble making oldbie asswipe, which unfortunately, I've seen happen here as well.

And like I said in my earlier post, I've seen mods whom I considered to be my good Hype friends call me names that shall remain unsaid when there was no reason for such actions. At some point or another, a few of us have had access to the VIP Bathroom, and the way you guys go on about us would make my Mom blush. And what was said (in the past, I know), takes away from any and all honesty, integrity and validity in anything you may be trying to say to me now. It's not your fault, but I can't help being cynical because of "secret comments" that I have seen with my own eyes.

Nonetheless, if you read a PM that some poster (that you thought was a good friend and fellow Hype pal) sent to another poster calling all kinds of unmentionable names, how seriuously could you ever take that poster afterwards? Sticks and stones may break my bones, but hurt feelings can last a lifetime.

Honestly, I think bannings are unecessary here, because even though we all live with "reputations", we're pretty timid here when compared to other threads in Community. However, if one of us happens to step out of line, simple PM's could (or could not) resolve the issues rather than immediate probationary bannings. The latter just tends to increase resentment, and nobody really learns when they're resentful. And I would agree with the give or take on both sides, but it appears to me that you guys think that you're doing all the giving and we are merely taking, which is far from untrue.

I've suggested in the past that a Commitee of non-mods be created as the voice of the people, and be given limited access to certain Mod-Only threads where situations can be calmly discussed, but it always gets the "Nay" vote from Mirko, because he doesn't really care about how the posters feel, just as long as the mods properly police them in whichever manner they see fit. And unfortunately, that type of system has never really worked.

However, perhaps it can be suggested again...
