Sci-Fi Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon | Netflix

As much as I might criticize Snyder, I’ll say this for him: he keeps me coming back. I’m not entirely sure WHY he keeps me coming back; the last movie he did that I kinda liked was Man of Steel. And everything since has been somewhere between bad and awful. But for some reason I guess I WANT him to make something I actually like. I guess on some level I do like his visual style (at times) and conceptually I think he has good ideas for certain movies. It’s just in the execution where he falters, often spectacularly. But I’m hoping for the best with this movie. I’ll definitely watch it either way.

i noticed that Ray Fisher is not on the poster. was his role..............reduced? :deadpan:
Why didnt Snyder get him a more important role in the movie? there are 8 of them in the team and he is the only one not on the poster?

Looks pretty big and Snyder-y. I'm guessing this could be the teaser for both films considering its so stuffed and the 4 month wait b/w parts.

Looks alright. I'm surprised there wasn't any shot of Ray Fisher's character in this though.

happy that he didnt change the lightsabers from the original pitch. we need more glowing swords.

haha no close up of Ray Fisher.

watched the trailer just now and it feels underwhelming to me.
like a less fun version of star wars.

i will probably still check it out on netflix when i have time and nothing better to watch. lol

I personally thought this looked incredible. Wow. Gave me Dune vibes, big visuals, big action, very epic and grandiose which is Snyder's style. Jury's out on the story of course, that is Snyder's weak spot but we'll see, I'm hoping he collaborated with someone on the screenplay. But you could tell he put a lot of effort into this, the visuals look absolutely stunning.

I dont think this will convert any anti-Snyder people, this is probably going to be like ZSJL x1000. lol

Interesting to see how much Nolan has closed the gap between them visually. But Snyder has just widened the gulf between them on literally everything else. :fancy:

Piss yellow, brown and gray visuals? Check.

Pretentious “deep” imagery and dialogue? Check, check.

Overused and unnecessary slow-mo to just look cool and needlessly draw out the runtime? Check, check, check.

Unnuanced character “acting“ jumping from stoic all the way to yelling? Check, check, check, check.

Yep, it’s a Zack Snyder film.

Looks like Sci-fi channels Dune mini series threw up on Star Wars (and Battle Beyond the Stars) with a massive fx budget, and gave us this.

Should be fun!
