I love that second shot when Superman tries to fly away and Nam-Ek grabs him by the leg!
Cavils pose is perfect and the action is very realistic.

People try to claim that latter **** is CG but no there’s actual footage of Cavill on wires getting slammed down onto a mat.

Man of Steel’s action was masterful. I really wanna see a return to that super kinetic action in the Snyder cut.

The action in Man of Steel is the W still I’ve ever seen in a CBM. The Battle of Smallville has to be the most underrated fight scene from any movie. Easily the best I’ve ever seen.

So I saw this on r/DC_Cinematic today

Anybody know if there's any truth to this?

At this point nothing would shock me

Read the comments. :hehe::funny:
Well surely everyone will have read this peaceful exchange between artists and shown their appreciation for the respect given, with all things considered.

*reads comments*

There’s gonna a be a very loud subsection of people who will be very displeased when she doesn’t cast Ray Porter for her Darkseid.

I hate to be presumptuous, but people who’ve enjoyed what we’ve gotten from Snyder movies so far will probably enjoy whatever Porter does with the character. Everyone else, it’s a wait and see.

I’m gonna try my best to not walk into this thing with an agenda, but it’s gonna be difficult given that March 24, 2016 was the last place I left off with the overall connected storyline of these movies. WB’s Frankenstein JL being stricken from the record, of course.

it's the modern way. undeserved and unsubstantiated support first...unexpected shock, disappointment and personal rejection later...

It's a fair cop...

Yeah, lot of scenes were done practically and later on enhanced with CGI, but people assume it's all CGI. Same thing with Aquaman, many sets were actually built and lot of action scenes were done practically with wire works and later given CGI enhancements but people still think that everything was just done digitally.

Zack used Porter for a reason. Must have done something right.

As for Fisher seeing some new tweets. He seems to have latched on to this Borg-Life thing a little too hard. During the film I thought OK, that's cool. Promotion...for the film and his character etc. But it looks like he is making it a personal mantra? Just seems a little out of place to me.
Should he be putting all his eggs in one borg basket?

That's the idea I think that Cavill read the lines later.

So they got Affleck's stand-in... who looks more like Cavill than Affleck to shoot the scene for Cavill and had Cavill dub his voice over?

...and they had the stand-in grow a beard and stash - like Cavill to retain the realism and so they could remove the stash in post like they would have had to with Cavill , and then replaced the face with Cavill's but retained the bad stash removal to make Cavill look like bad because they wanted to make it take much longer than necessary and cost much more than it could have...? Makes sense to me...

IF that tweet is true then that scene had no mustache removal and all the weirdness comes from the fact that they used this dude and then overlayed Cavill's face over him somehow. I mean, you have to admit that that scene in particular looks extra weird.

Unfortunately that scene IMO IS in fact Cavill with stach removal. Very poorly done. That entire scene was unnecessary IMO. Cute but not needed.

My guess, it was to try and get a redeemed HERO Superman into the opening minutes of the film to reassure the audience that Superman lives.

When they saw how horrible he looked, they should have at least tried to blur the phone footage more to hide the bad CGI more. Shame..

Eh, you are partly correct... (I think) They got that Stand in for Cavill as Superman and then digitally replaced his face by mustached Cavill's face and then used CGI to remove that mustache.

It's kind of backup plan (in case Cavill was unable to appear for reshoots), not too different from what "Birds of Prey" did when they couldn't get Jared Leto for a cameo, they used a different actor who looked similar to Leto to play Joker.

Great Caesar's Ghost! ; )

I get ya... but

I was referring to the tweet with the guy below who I don't "think" is the same stunt guy you posted. The guy you posted is Cavill's stunt guy... I think.

They had Cavil for the re-shoots, hence Stach-Gate... - why would they need to shoot a scene with a stand-in and then replace a bad -stached Cavill head?

Are they suggesting Cavil refused to shoot the opening scene?

No sense here... IMO.

Yeah, the pic I posted is from BvS, different stunt guy, the point I was trying to make is that they use different stunt guys and then replace their face with actor's face, this is fairly common thing. Similarly for JL they used that Cavill's lookalike (who, ironically is supposed to be Affleck's standin), in case Cavill is not able to appear for reshoots (as he was busy shooting for MI:Fall0ut) Look at Jared Leto's standin in Birds of Prey, they used him when Leto was unavailable.

Later on Whedon and company decided to replace that standin's face with mustached Cavill's face, then remove that mustache, at least that's what I believe happened, I could be wrong.

Gotchya.

But that would mean they replaced the stand-ins head...flawlessly but messed up the stach replacement!

I am being facetious here but my point is that it is clearly Cavill acting IMO. Just bad stash removal that was better done by a YouTuber with DeepFake technology...

Anything is possible and I can be wrong as well...

The good news IS, this scene will not be in ZSJL !

BTW, have not been able to sit through BoP. Havent seen the Leto scene.

Is the film worth a look?
How much alcohol will I need?

I loved BOP the second time, first time I thought it was just OK. Funny thing is my wife who does like comic book movies absolutely loved it.

And see I think that type of scene was the thing Snyder needed more of. That showed more about how the world was reacting to Superman's arrival and why his death was so impactful than the Jesus Allegory stuff he put in. He should have filmed something like that and put it in BvS somewhere...

Back in the day that was the stuff all of us were begging for. It was the one thing missing...there needed a little bit of kitch. A little bit of the Superman Americana stuff. Like in MOS when Clark is running around with a cape...that should have been shown again in BvS and JL only instead it should be Clark or Bruce (or both at different times) seeing other kids doing it, wanting to be Superman. Maybe the adults debate his importance but the kids should all want to be Superman. (teenagers Batman because they are so grimdark ;) ) A little bit of that and people warm to the movie a bit more.

Back in the day, when Snyder was still saying he asked Whedon for help, some of us around here figured stuff like that was why. Touch up some of the connective tissue, the stuff Snyder forgets in his grand epics. If we knew then what we know now...

Done and written better I agree... would not have hurt.

In BvS there was not a lot of time to interject stuff like that but I agree a few reaction shots/scenes could have gone a long way but I think he wanted to keep it focused on the undue negative reaction to Superman.

Even tho Snyder does show the heroic Superman in many shots and deeds in newspapers etc. he focuses on the distrust and motives of this helpful god. (not unlike today's issues)

Why is he helping us? What does he want?

The opening scene in SS would work well in BvS or JL. The line about the world changing when Superman flew in the sky and changed again when he didn't... great stuff. REMEMBER.

Waller smiling at the T shirt guy was spooky.

Confirms Joss is a jerk and bully... even A-h*le not much more there THAT unusual for Hollywood. Prob more to the story too.
Many many stories like this. Not right but not criminal either.

most of it sounds unethical, but not illegal.
though the part of him possibly hacking into their emails and sending them out to other potential employers is most likely illegal.

ugh.
hard to prove though.

the computer hack thing I don't understand unless it was a company computer...then it is likely not a crime. Creepy but not a crime.

if not, that is illegal...

Legal and right are not the same thing but it's difficult to regulate right.
People are allowed to be A-Hol*s... by the 1st amendment... in the USA
People are allowed not to work for the A-ho*es...
IF the treatment crosses the line into illegal they can file a legal complaint.
IF the behavior is unethical they may be able to file a complaint with the union.

Other than that it is just personalities and power struggles...
