Can’t wait to see this version on the screen.
Far more menacing than the one we got in theatrical version.

He definitely looks better.

Affleck been sprinkling de-aging tech on his pizzas or something? Man looks 10 years younger there.
Agreed and he was looking terrible there for awhile. Cut down all the massive amounts of drinking and began eating right.

Curious to see if Zack or Deborah will ever watch the theatrical version to see how different it is to the one that he's making.lol

Can't wait to see people start posting side-by-side comparisons between the two versions once Snyder's film is released next year.

for the snyders' sake, i hope they don't watch the tc. lol

seeing the side by side comparisons is one of the things i am looking most forward to.

So pretty sure this is the first time he confirmed actual mo-cap work was done with Darkseid. He did far more than just the voice.

I guess now’s a good time to expand we should also be expecting a full-on fight scene with Steppenwolf. Ray gave this tidbit in private at last year’s Comic Con.

I can't find a speculation/rumours thread, so I will be sharing some interesting things I read on Twitter:
  • Ben Affleck and Jim Lee played pivotal roles in making the Snyder Cut happen.
  • WB are happy to bring Ben Affleck back. Ben just needs to be assured that anything like the Josstice League fiasco will not happen again.
  • Zack Snyder's Justice League is Justice League Part 1 AND 2. Basically, two movies worth of material. That's why the duration is supposed to be like 4 hour+ or will take a mini series form.
  • Anti-life equation is on Earth and that's why Darkseid invaded the planet thousands of years ago and invades again in ZS' JL.
  • Lex Luthor who made the deal with the devil in Batman v Superman helps Darkseid in acquiring the anti-life equation.

That I really doubt. I think the limit of what can be done is still with the theatrical cut's plot, i.e. starts and ends with Steppenwolf's invasion. Unless they're financing a whole different product (not what they've announced at the moment), there's nothing to suggest Snyder filmed anything beyond that.

Agreed. I believe Snyder simply filmed A LOT of material covering the backstories for Barry, Arthur, and Victor.

But the idea that Snyder had filmed both parts one and two with just $250 million is just silly. They had spent $50 million for the re-shoots filmed by Whedon which made the total production budget come out to $300 million.

I wouldnt put it past him to have that much material...but then we would have seen far more concept arts, costume designs etc already that is for more than 1 movie.

Ray Fisher did say that Zack Snyder filmed enough footage to make 2 films. And if you go by the available information:

Assembly Cut of the Snyder Cut = 5 hours
Snyder Cut = 3 hours 35 min
HBOMax Justice League = 4 hours+ or mini series

Even with hours of footage available, one of the History Lesson's actors got called back for additional photography. ()

I think Zack is definitely making a lot of changes and is going beyond Steppenwolf's defeat. Perhaps even to the extent of the League losing to Darkseid in the end as they are supposed to in Part 2 (which is hinted by this blogger: ).

Thus ending on a huge cliffhanger with the fans asking for more and sticking longer with HBOMax subscription.

You do remember that the movie was retooled to be stand-alone, and not part 1 of 2 before filming began, right? So even if it's going to hint at possible sequels, it will stand on its own feet.

Also, Ben Affleck is not going to be back as Batman. And we won't get a sequel to this. Zack Snyder is getting the chance to complete the movie he made in 2016/17.

I get and (totally share) the enthusiasm, but let's stay realistic.

Yep. Just let JL be its own movie with a conclusive ending. I'd hate it if the SC leave story beats hanging.

I mean, there are going to be hints at the future, but the story of the movie itself was always retooled PRIOR TO FILMING to stand on its own, so whatever info Peter Sciretta got, it's either hyperbolic or false.

It's going to be more of a Batman Begins-style cliffhanger, rather than Infinity War. There's a difference. The movie was not shot (by Snyder) as part 1 of 2 kind of deal.

Also keep in mind that Superman's shirt unbuttoning was shot by Zack Snyder.

The most I see him doing with Darkseid is putting him at the very end once Steppenwolf has been defeated as some sort of "promise for the future" because that's what Snyder himself said wanted to do in 2017, but story-wise it doesnt' make sense for the League's debut to lose to a character that has only appeared in a flashback and has little to do with the main plot of this movie.

Woo I don’t know about that part, I read somewhere Zack still shot his original version along with the altered version post BvS, that’s why he had so much footage to play with and deal out an entirely different movie including the black suit (I think that suit was not in the revised Johns/Affleck script in 2016)

Whether he chooses to end it or not is not another story. I think the best of both worlds (film and HBOmax) is to film the Batcave scene, have Lois murdered to end the episode, then show Knightmare consequences in the penultimate episode, in the finale have Flash time travel and save them, replay the Batcave scene this time have MM disguised as Lois and defeat Darkseid temporarily to end the series.

Then they can move to spin offs with Ray, Joe etc, and Hamada and Jim Lee can work towards another Darkseid invasion later maybe even with the same actor.

Now I am gonna be disappointed if my fan fiction didn’t come true, lol

They can watch it as a parody, like collegehumor Batman and Joker stuff, they entertained me so much

But was that scene with Darkseid murdering Lois really filmed? Asking a geniune question here, I've seen Snyder show the storyboards where he does that (and he also destroys the hall of justice) but I haven't read anything about that being filmed. Is there any reliable source you can point me to?

No that’s Zack’s idea for part 2, so I am just dreaming he would just do it on the re-shoot to wrap up this journey on a high note, otherwise we’d never see it. the concept was just amazing lol

I doubt it. That was probably part of when Snyder was envisioning a two-parter.

That's not what we're getting and how it's going to go down.

Zack Snyder likes to make long movies and shoot a lot of footage. That's why he has so much material. He had for Watchmen and Batman V Superman, as well.

See this as an extended version (similar to the Ultimate cut) of the movie we would have likely seen in theaters in November 2017, had Snyder not left the production in spring.

That makes more sense. Who knows though. If (and it's a big if) this does really well maybe they use these concepts eventually. If the rumours about Cavill end up becoming reality I'm not dissmissing some sort of "OG DCEU-revival" in the future, even Affleck seems to have a soft spot for Snyder and his work.

They need to stick the landing of this film first, though, so I think it's better if they center themselves on this. What I'm also really curious about is whether that New Gods film they're doing is going to follow this versions of the characters or not.
