Theoretically they could but making a 250M (or 500M if they made both together) movie for a streaming service probably wouldn't pay off.

So they can legally, that’s the only obstacle

I have said it a lot before, Zack doesn’t need 200M to make a Knightmare movie with green screen and improving technology. Re 300(inflation now still under 100M), Mandolorian, Witcher etc

Even if he does, we are talking streaming here, no middle men, huge profit. That’s why there are murmurs they are going for more now. Zack clearly is letting the cat out of the bag with the hidden storyboard:yay:

Diana killing the cameras in 84 is a clear statement of trying to align with BvS lol.

Pattys Diana would not blow up someone she can easily subdue after being in Mans World for so long.

They can’t make JL2 a HBO max original?

JL already cost around $250-$300 before all of this. You dont make that kind of property (as a movie) for a streaming service. It's like making an HBO Max original Batman movie.

Is it smart to spoil your entire movie if you believe you can get it made?

Forcing Snyder to work on a smaller budget may be good for him but idk if he can forego the big CGI that he loves for projects like these.

Them wanting to save Stewart for an actual GL movie is by no means a bad thing imo. I’m glad they axed that. Seeing Stewart there would’ve been a waste. MMH being there was a waste. That whole scene was a waste.

Just bc there is a multiverse doesn’t mean Snyder should be able just use any old character he wants real quick bc he thinks it’s cool. That’s not really fair to anyone involved, especially when they have plans for said character.

And the multiverse isn’t solely for in universe shenanigans imo. They’re likely using it to change some **** here and there, but It also allows them to make one offs like Joker , separate worlds like The Batman, and continue with “connected” stuff like everything else on the silver screen. They set all that multiverse stuff up in a TV show over a year ago, plus a lot of upcoming projects are clearly setting up other ****.

Saying they have no plans or a clue as to what to do beyond what we know of is no sillier to me than people who said Snyder and DC didn’t have any plans or ideas 4 years ago. Will every project be revolved around the multiverse and dimension trotting and worlds colliding after Flash? Probably not, not so soon at least, but it doesn’t mean the idea of the multiverse will come and go after Flash either.

So she killed the camera to not align with BvS then? :funny: There are stuff directors put out for their own vision, there are also stuff they make to try to align. It’s not black and white like you are implying. Nobody is ignoring nobody. They are not 5 year olds

You don’t make ZSJL after Josstice League came out. It’s a pipe dream. We are in 2021 lol. Again what did Zack make 300 for, in today’s inflation, with 2006 technology?

Anyway we will be going in circles. Check back when HBO max announces a sequel/spin off :funny:

Seeing this makes me realize just how different Snyder’s Diana is from Patty’s Diana. Interesting

The middle man of the theaters is removed, but the manner of actually recouping an investment is far less direct than the standard ticket per viewing model since it's about how many subscriptions the film conceivably sells rather than how much it makes at the box office. Even the VOD model makes it easier.

If making huge movies and releasing them direct to streaming was more profitable than theaters, you'd see more people doing it. There's a reason Disney has spent the last year hopelessly fighting against the tide, refusing to drop any of their new Marvel movies on Disney+. The budgets are too high for them to go straight to streaming without taking a bath.

So what do you call Mera having a British accent in Snyders version but no accent in Wans version? Her parents being dead in snyders version but her father being alive in Wans version?

This isnt about being a child, it's simply them not feeling beholden to follow Snyders version to a t.

You'd also need to get back all the actors. Ray, Cavil, and Affleck's DCEU futures are still up in the air.

Ray and Affleck mostly likely will be game, Knightmare would be basically Leto (keen), Mera (cut down from AQ2), Joe (game), Ezra(?). That’s more of specifics but studio can work it out if they want it to happen

That's exactly what it means. Especially when it comes to projects that they deem not canon

Wow, a very good friend of mine just finished the movie and this person is a VERY tough movie critic--especially of superhero movies, she doesnt like a lot of them. She really liked this movie and literally said "why did they waste our time with that other edit? I feel like, if i had seen that in theaters, I would have looked forward to another movie."

I know its just one person but just goes to show that I think theres something about this film that I think is gonna resonate with people despite its runtime length.

I love how WB murdered Cyborg's arc in 2017 then forced John Stewart to be cut out of this one, not mentioning the issues with the writer of Krypton :funny:

All that hashtag BLM & JJ Black Superman

Just saw another poster said the same thing with his friend. No coincidence when even mainstream critics are mostly giving it positive feedbacks.

Grace said the runtime is becoming a social media "challenge" and actually helps the movie. I went to pee every chapter ends, Snyder made my bladder weak :funny:

If you wanna compete with the big boys in streaming you have to open up the wallet. Disney is going all in on Marvel and Star Wars (and rightfully so). All those shows are getting movie budgets. And we're not talking 100m. We're talking 200m+ like WandaVision

Yep

The rewards for big streaming numbers and a reliable persistent income are enough that everyone’s chasing it now. You need to take some risk (Netflix investing 20B a year on new content and operating in debt with an eye on the future for eg despite starting out in front and originally behind ahead of the curve) to get somewhere in this battle.

Nah, giving ZS a reasonable streaming budget and hooking up all the actors is INSANE :funny:

Cul de sac rotten reviewed pipedream mate

Can any of you young social media hispsters tell me how this is tracking/trending whatever so far this weekend?

I think some sort of miniseries format would be the only way I could see it happening, something that can get people to sign up for at least a couple months. A Knightmare series followed by a JL series that concludes the story would probably be very feasible.

That is also split between episodes. WandaVision apparently ended up running 5hrs50mins.

I dont foresee DC/WB in general doing more 4hr movies to make reasonable.

And we will see if Amazon putting that much on LotR pays off for them.

Snyder hasn't exactly WOWd the studios with his impressive box office returns for their movies. Why should they continue to trust him and throw $200+ million his way?

I dont know enough about what HBO Max was targeting for this to do, so it's really going to come down to if this exceeded their expectations and by how much. If this does whatever the numbers need to justify a continuation, then that is the reason to let Snyder do it. But again, I have no idea what has to open view wise and subs wise to justify it. We will just have to see what happens

^ let this artist adapt zack snyder's JL sequel ideas into a comic!

it looks like an anime. i feel a lot of zack's visuals are limited by the technology at hand and would actually look cooler as an anime. since much of his action is inspired by that artform.

Imo, WB should take whatever good will they may be able to get back and do a softboot of Justice League for the big screen w/someone new. Even Marvel knew when to move on from JW for Avengers.
