Is this the manip someone was referring to a few posts back? Because quality of the manip aside, she really doesn't look like Harley Quinn to me... all I see is Domino. This is kinda how I was hoping she'd look.

hahaha! Man, you really like talking about skin. I think they've done a horrible job with Mystique all around but her skin color is a non-issue for me but more her Skin texture.
I realize, Not all mutants are suppose to be pleasant to the eye but Zazie Beets is very pleasant to mine, I dig her look and its that simple. hahaha! If you think she'd look better with pasty bright skin, Then thats you. I think she looks better than the comic as is.

Yeah, I think the real version is accentuating the actress's strengths rather than hiding them.

I think that manip looks way better. Yeah of course Zazie looks more natural with her own skincolor but she's not playing Zazie, she's playing Domino. You can accentuate the strengths of the actress but what about that of the character? For Domino's character her look is one of her strengths. I for one see no exuse for this although it doesn't ruin the character for me. Im just always gonna have that "what if" in the back of my head. Especially if Zazie nails the role because then the character could have been even better if she had the iconic look.

Them slightly tweaking Domino's look doesn't mean that they don't commit.

You can't compare this to what they did to Deadpool in the Wolverine movie.

She only stands out because her hair is taking too much space. But put her aside with Deadpool, Iceman, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler and those other mutants with unusual full body skin color or colorful costume, she would just fade in the background.

The movies aren't an alternatereality version of the 616 verse. I was obviously referring to the alternate universes in the comics where the alternate reality versions aren't similar looking to the 616 / original version.

They arent an accurate adaptation of them either, which is why changes are expected, just as we see in other AR avenues

I doubt people are asking for an 100% accurate adaptation of the look. Mystique with the scales, Nightcrawler with the markings, Toad with the greenish frog like skin... Those are changes that improved the characters' look especially in live action.

This isn't the case with Domino. It looks like they held back and just made her sexy.

I dont see how any of tht improved the character's looks. To this day, I hate how Mystique looks onscreen. They messed it up from day one and it never worked. Everything about her look is a mess

Domino is sexy. Seems like you are arguing two different points, bc making her black doesnt make her any sexier than had they made her white. Ar you talking about her clothes bc again its not too far off from what she's worn in the books
