Deadpool 2 Zazie Beets officially cast as Domino in Deadpool 2

They inverted the color scheme on her black eye and now she has a white eye. not complaining though. it looks sweet and it's so much less make-up than you'd think, right?

Oh god, I love those glasses.

You can see the blue on her uniform which is awesome too. Love how they implemented those aspects from the comics. I think putting her in a black catsuit would've been too much of an overlap with Black Widow so using a bit of brown/blue to help break up the monotone colors helps a lot to differentiate them somewhat.

Any unique touches to the suit are welcome.

She's a fine looking woman (awesome shades too), and if the film is great on it's own, this radical appearance change won't break it for me.

But the original design is just too cool to leave it behind. She's also a great visual contrast to DP in the comics.

By your logic, almost no one in the original X-men trilogy would stand out. Domino's hair, eye and white mark are visually striking and standout from those other characters. That and she's beautiful. My eyes would be drawn to her

What are you talking about? The X-men had one piece leather jumpsuits. Domino's outfit appears more normal compared to them. Her outfit is closer in look to the Morlocks. It could pass for relatively normal. Plus if anyone notices her white patch let alone her discoloured eye would have good eyesight to pick her out from the background of that group of ragtag Morlocks.

Some new pics. This time with Ryan and Zazie together. Seems like Wade and Neena parachute in somewhere, but Wade gets caught up whereas Domino sticks the landing. Sounds like a funny scene.

Its sad to have 3 awesome x-films next year and seeing two of them having these critics for not respecting certain characters distintive looks from the comics we all know and love. Its dissapointing. I dont think its a coincidence that this is coming from Fox. They had everything on their side, but somehow they lead to negativity for not respecting the comics once again. Its perfectly clear that they just dont care and are unable to avoid this reaction movie after movie.

I would be hesitant to put the Domino issues as the same as the Reyes/Sunspot issues.

I think it's completely different because Sunspot's racial makeup is actually an important part of his character and because job opportunities for dark-skinned Brazilian actors is an ongoing difficulty.

Every single studio takes creative liberties. Rather they made the right choice or not depends on the full product. The Deadpool franchise has not done any characters wrong so far and changes to characters like NTW ended up for the better.

I'm not a huge fan of the makeup here for Domino, but I'd say hold judgment. This is gonna come down to writing, chemistry and acting above all.

They could have painted Zazie white and people probably wouldn't be complaining now because she would have looked the way she does in the comics.

But then you paint a black person white and you can bet someone would have something bad to say about it even if technically the white coloring isn't a race thing.

Although for all we know they did try the white make up and just didn't like how it looked so it may not even have be about the actress skin color.

I hope your joking there.anyway so far all we know is they changed domino's look.it matters more how the character is.I am always of the school i don't care
if they changed the look it matters if i like the films.captain america remains my favorate avenger in mcu just like it was in comics even though they treated the classic comic book cap outfit as a joke in first avenger.batman in dceu is more comic accurate though i remain more a fan of the burton and nolan batmans.

I just said I don't like the makeup myself.

Others are acting like this represents the character as a whole being ruined. That's just in no way true.

If I didn't already know Zazie was playing Domino, it would be impossible to know what character that is just by looking at the pictures...

It's rather worrying that a live-action character is not identifiable.
