Deadpool 2 Zazie Beets officially cast as Domino in Deadpool 2

Well X-Force also has an X.

Obviously, which would make the most sense. As opposed to being a student or teacher with the X-Men.

This gal uses alot of guns haha. A lot. I can't see Professor X going, yeah those are totally fine around the kids mercenary lady. But then again, Colossus wants Deadpool to be an X-Men so...

I don't know. My assumption has been that she will be with Cable from the start, or a merc rival of Wade. But she very well could start an X-Men.

Curious about the source. Let us know.

And it seems like I was right regarding the vitiligo around her eye.

Gorgeous! :ilv:

Sure. Why did they make the spot white then on a black actress then? It's obvious.

And it's ridiculous to say that she doesn't look like a white female in the comics. She does. And black people look like black people in comics. See Misty Knight and many other ethnic characters.

:lmao:...you can't be serious with this comment. I guess in your mind the character Nekra looks like a black female in the comics, lol:

If you are disappointed in the movie's interpretation of the character that's fine but it is ridiculous to compare Domino to Misty Knight or any other black character with a normal human skin tone.

^ Just to clarify the above post, Nekra actually is African American, although she was born with white skin. That's literally part of conceit of the character.

I don't get the complaints about the costume. To me, it's very close, even if it isn't identical. I'm very happy with that.

The other complaints about skin tone and hair I get but I'm dismissing out of hand because I have no interest in that. I think the reversal of black and white is cleverly done. Her hair is awesome, I'm not worrying about that at all.

Overall, I'm very pleased. I'm even happier with the marketing mirroring the original Deadpool marketing. I was so excited for the nerdy comics stuff that I forgot it's also potentially hillarious.

How soon before the usual cyberbullies whinge about the role not being played by a person who really has vitiligo???

Hm. Maybe. That or, and run with me on this, any and all issues I'd have with the design, it's certainly not the sleeves. That's just being pedantic for argument's sake.

That's your opinion. Unlike you, I actually read comics with Domino that doesn't look the movie version of Deadpool 2. So every small little detail whether its the sleeve or the zipper is a reasonable criticism. Maybe its you defendingit just for argument's sake. Oh wait yes. Lol.

I, too, read the comics (it's been two decades now since I first started) and I like her look in Deadpool 2. So what the hell does that even mean?

Do you want a medal for reading comics, psy? This isn't a comic- it's a film. The X-Men weren't parading in blue and yellow in 2000, Captain America doesn't have wing tips sticking out of his helmet, Hawkeye isn't dressed in purple for the bulk of his costume...so long as the character's intact, that ought to be all that matters. Whether that's the case we don't know since the film isn't out. But sure, zippers and sleeves are reasonable criticisms.

Yes. I want a medal from you of starting arguments just for the sake of it because you have a behavior of not respecting opinions that differs from yours.

I read the comics, too, and I like her look in Deadpool 2.

I wasn't referring you, didn't I? No I didn't.

Now back to "Domino", I hope they could improve her look in X-Force because right now, it looks quite bland. I mean its not that bad, but its also incredibly unfaithful. The skin, the eye patch, the hair, and even the costume... Like they finally have someone who wears a black leather suit and her costume has brown and she is showing more skin than the most recognizable Domino costume from the comics.:o eh.

She looks amazing but she doesnt look like Domino. I hope she does well and I somehow feel this wont work against her or her character

I dont think Ive read anyone bring this up until you went there

in your defense, I also get that vibe from that user. I find it pretty clear when a board user clearly has a personal issue with someone and doesnt even try to hide it

just put him/her on ignore list. Dont waste your time replying to all those comments

Did you ever pay a visit to the Homecoming boards? :woot: Strange statement. Why would the fans of one property inherently behave completely differently unless a particular studio attracts all the nutjobs in more numbers than others.

you do realize critics of homecoming are in minority.majority of people online is prasing homecoming and you get critized for daring to critize homecoming.

if you really think homecoming got any level of critism than any fox marvel film gets you haven't been paying attention.

Stop turning this into your typical Marvel vs Fox nonsense please. There is already enough hate forming here. You can continue your anti Marvel agenda in the Thor 3 or Spider-Man Homecoming thread.

Yeah, I've been reading Domino since when she was technically Vanessa in disguise. This is perfectly fine for me.

Wow! Zazie is looking gorgeous

Love the costume/outfit she has on. Just sucks they didn't make her skin chalk white. But I'm not gonna go full on rage mode for this like a lot of people have on social media

BEFORE it came out! I popped into the forum nearly every day for the last couple of years and there was a conversation on that topic (and a number of associated bannings) the whole time. Once a film comes out and is loved by most those things don't matter any more and it will be the same with Domino if she's awesome. Doesn't mean she will necessarily be a great interpretation of the character, but she might be a great character regardless.

On a related note, since Zazie Beetz, who is in Atlanta, is playing Domino, and Donald Glover is doing his own Deadpool animated series, I wonder if that Domino, should she appear there, would take any cues from this film version or go for something more traditional, similar to how the comics and animated Marvel films tend to emulate what's been established by the MCU.

Thing is fewer people would mind the sleeveless outfit and the sexualized image.... If only they got the skin/hair right.

And I just noticed that the other side of her face, where the mark is, isn't all white and you can see her real skin color under her eyes. I mean yikes, they couldn't even get it right.

Maybe its you defendingit just for argument's sake. Oh wait yes. Lol.

Let me stand back and take a look at that.....YOU....complaining about someone defending a point just for argument's sake....YOU....the poster boy for defending points for argument's sake.....complaining about someone else doing it.

Time for a beer.....and I don't drink beer.

I have seen some manips people have done, and now I fully understand the direction they went. Going with the white cake makeup makes her come off as a Joker/Harley ripoff. This look, while not comic accurate, is more unique.

I think the only thing that would make it better is to make the purple on her suit a bit more purple than burgandy.

i like this look they went with Domino, color inversion or otherwise. given that her eye color is slightly different too theres likely a backstory to that. like the white marking and the eye color was a discoloration of some sort. acid attack or something?

Liefeld's Domino has no pupils under the black marking, so it might be influenced by that. Only they chose to go with heterochromia instead.

And I don't think Marvel would follow Zazie's Domino in Glover's animated series. They deliberately seem to shy away from Fox's adaptations of X-Men characters in their own properties and merch. (Like, we don't get a Dafne Keen Funko pop for example, despite the unanimous acclaim she got for her portrayal. Or we don't get Dan Stevens Legion figures). So I dunno if we would see Zazie's Domino in animation, which Marvel has the rights too. But then again, it is on FX so who knows.
