Zeitgeist

Not really... all of these topics are covered in the Zeitgest movie...

I'm pretty sure Halcohol didn't intend for his thread to turn into a promotional vehicle for Ron Paul.

In all fairness, they did feature him in the movie. Also, I meant for this thread to help spread the word about this documentary. Nay, "experience".

So I finished watching it, and what it all really meant was that the Philadelphia Experiment was real.

could have been a 10 minute or less read instead.

I remember a story here in NY about some guy who hadn't payed taxes in years and talked about how it's a big joke. I tried looking for an article, but I found this instead:

http://www.apfn.org/APFN/tax.htm

I didn't file a return last year by accident. Granted I don't really make enough money to show up on the radar, but nothing came of it.

I seriously plan to stop this, I mean look @ what they take out in income tax compared to the rest of the industrialized world and we STILL don't have the federal programs that foriegn countries do.

"The federal reserve is no more a federal branch than Federal express"

If this is all as true as the film suggests, if some of these things are uncovered in a major way (they WILL be eventually), it's going to be one hell of a bad time (much worse than right now),..

Last night me and some friends were having a deep convo about the world and why it is the way it is, why there are religions, where they came from, how we've established ourselves over the years, how things are changing for the worse and all governmental conspiracy's.

one of my friends than brought up this movie, I've yet to see it, and i will watch it sometime soon.

I don't agree w/ the first third of the documentary-I don't even sit through it.
Jus for the fact that IF the remaining 2 thirds are correct or even close-which I do believe, then Man cannont possible govern itself-which is evident.

The bastardization of the word's religion has clouded the real truth,
so do your homework.
The life you may save may be your own.

If nothing else it will open your eyes to some of the ways the United States has done its own citizens.

Of course man cant govern itself, they run everything they can change what ever they want for their advantages.

do you think we even follow the deceleration, constitution, or even bill of rights anymore, weve drifted pretty far from that.

its no democracy here, its kinda Fascist.

So, you don't agree with some of the FACTs, you say?

The first 1/3 is complete rubbish. The Jesus as a myth theory has been roundly rejected by every credible scholar working today. Jesus was a real person. Whether or not you chose to believe that he was God is different. There is actually more evidence for the existence of Jesus than there is for the existence of Alexander the Great!

Actually, I did find this part interesting about the federal reserve. Mainly the quote that Woodrow Wilson gave at the 6:00 minute mark. It's an interesting quote...

"Every credible scholar working today" - what type of Scholars are you taling about? Christian Scholars or were you trying to write historians but changed your mind at the last minute cause you didn't want to lie?

Jesus as a man is still in some circles controversial - It's not discussed often as people don't wish to offend.

I'd like to see where your evidence for more evidence for jesus than Alexander the Great came from.

I personally think if Jesus existed he was a great man, he said some really groovy stuff, which people can still learn alot from today.

But looking at the historical evidence - not just the bible - whether he did the things he is suggested to have done, or indeed whether he existed at all, is debatable. whereas, Alexander the great was written about during the time of his reign by supporters and the opposing him alike. No one who ever met Jesus wrote of him - and the only secular mention of him around the time he is claimed to have lived, is highly controversial.

I actually haven't seen it yet. I'll probably watch it when I get home tonight.

The first 1/3'rd you can just totally ignore-cause you can't concievable speak and be an authority on things that happend well over a thousand years ago...

Who can question such sound thinking? :whatever:

me and my brother are going to show it to our extremely conservative, catholic, superficial family
at the next family meeting

JUst finished watching it and I have to say it was really well done and very informative.

As a Catholic I have to say that the first 1/3 of the film really put my faith in question with all of the similarities to the other sun gods and similarities of past religions.

But at the end of the day, you just have to go with what you believe in no matter how much or how little others support it.

I want to say thanks to Halcohol for making this thread.

Aesop Rock spells it all out for you. Even uses the term in the first line of the song.

i saw this about a month ago, but i didn't know there was a thread on it. the 9/11 stuff isn't new, but the religions and world gov/banks info is.

after i saw the film, it only reinforced my agnosticism. i was raised Catholic and my parents still think i am, but i had somewhat of an awakening and realized that many religions (including Christianity) have a lot of contradictions and inconsistencies. of course, it's not the most factual of films...but it's not a documentary, it doesn't have to be. it's purpose is to inject thoughts and ideas that the viewer most likely hadn't thought of in an attempt to awaken or enlighten the viewer.

i, personally, found it very interesting and thought-provoking, even though it was kinda amateur. that being said, watch it with an open mind and draw your own conclusions.

This is something I have an interest in, I'll have to check the movie out.
