Zelda

Okay, big question for those who beat the game:

I am in Kakariko Village getting ready to head to Death Mountain. So far, I have not heard the "traditional" Zelda theme...the one that his heard in most of the games usually the Overworld theme.

Is that theme in the game? They tend to update it as each game goes through but ultimately, it is always recognizable as the main theme for Zelda.

Thanks for your help in this matter...

I think during the credits. I'll replay it to make sure, but it'll be a bit cause it takes like 40 minutes to do the final boss battle. So I'll get back to you in a bit.

Yeah, they play it for a little bit during the credits.

A little bit in the credits, and like I said earlier, it's heard early on as Link is first shown in his tunic gear... so if you're in the second dungeon already, then it's already gone.

New Zelda for Wii already in development
Monday 11-Dec-2006 9:58 AM For around a year according to a report from the US

The latest issue of Game Informer has reported that a brand new Zelda for Wii has been in development for a year and could come out sooner rather than later.

"Our sources tell us that the next instalment in this series has been deep in development for around a year. It's highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, but don't be surprised if this game comes up sooner than you think," reports the magazine.

Interesting if it's true. But considering Nintendo has always taking their time with the Zelda-games...

Exactly, how long was Twilight Princess in development, a good 4 years?

How many years were there between Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask?

We'll have to wait for GamePro, E3, or TGS for confirmation :csad:

Also:

Game Informer has a preview of Phantom Hourglass which doesn’t tell us anything we haven’t learned already. They cover all the basic game details we learned during E3. The only part that is new (and disturbing) is that they have the game listed for an Oct. 15th release. Last I heard, we could expect the title a couple months after Twilight Princess. It seems things may have drastically changed now. Perhaps this happened because the title is seeing a major revamp. Think about it…when did we last hear, or see anything about Phantom Hourglass?

Now aren't they using the Pokemon DS games and the Wii Pokemon game for extra gameplay? Could they be doing something for a DS/Wii connectivity for Phantom Hourglass/Twilight Princess/New Zelda Wii game? I know the PH has the cel-shading but they could change that or still have some way to exchange weapons and unlock areas.

Apparently the Gamecube version has disappeared on the EB Games and Gamestop website. You can buy the guide, but good luck getting the game.
My guess is because they (EB and GS) have nearly two years of preorders to fill.

That's not even it so much... because a ton of the two year pre-orders they have became Wii-pre orders... it's just that the game has been flying off the pre-order list in the last few weeks. Everyone wants the 'cube version.

I sold off my Wii version and am thinking about getting the GC version... but I'll doubt I'll be able to on launch. :down

I'm confused... I thought you thought the game was fantastic. Why sell it?

I found mine at circuit city. I tried at two others with no luck, but third one near my house had it. LOL!!! I need to cancel that pre-order now.

Well, the games going to be flat out hard to find for the Cube, you'll be lucky to get it even if you preordered it. In our store we have 175 preorders for the game. We got 50 copies.

Water temple is EEEVIIIIL it's the goddamn spawn of satan!

What's funny is my Wal-Mart here has a whole shelf of them, and they are not getting rid of them that quickly. The Wii version on the other hand....:wow:

I got it a circuit city yesterday for $38 :oldrazz::oldrazz::oldrazz:
So I canceled my pre-order.

Just beat it. Any chance you can play the game again after the conclusion? Or is it like Ocarina where you can fight Ganon over and over again?

My brother just got to the Forest Temple.
That place is HUGE!!!

The latter. Though I wish you could re fight the bosses again. I'd like to see how quickly you would take down some of them.

I have beaten the game. In tuely wish that there was some after end game content. Like you can continue playing after then end of the game and the world will have modified itself to reflect the defeat of Ganon and some new quests etc. I'd also like the option to replay any temple or boss simply by using some end game obtained item that would let you do time attacks etc.

It's always bugged me that Zelda games never let you do a seperate 'continued' file.

I'll post some thoughts and stuff later.

Same. Don't get me wrong, I liked the game and all, but seeing the world after Ganon's influence is gone would be awesome. My only regret is not saving right before fighting Ganon. Now I have to go through the Castle all over again. I was surprised it didn't take longer to beat it.

Still, the game was really fun. Although it sure as hell isn't as good as Ocarina of Time, despite feeling like a remake, this is definitely up there for Zelda games. 9.0 for me.

Fault wise, I'd have to say the weapons were pretty uninspired. The double clawshot was awesome and made for some good puzzles, but thats about it. I hated the rod. But the biggest blow was the lack of arrows. Sure you have the hero bow, but where's the light arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, etc? And to be honest, being a wolf was by and far my least favorite part of the game.

That said, I loved using the wii controller. I'm sure i'd be far more critical of the game with the classic gameplay. The surprise during the first ganon round was all kinds of awesome. Hell, all the Ganon rounds were awesome. Zant in particular was a great boss. Epona never kicked more ass. Riding other animals was genius, and hopefully the next game can take that to the next step (maybe some weapon that hypnotizes flying enemies?). And some voice acting. Before I didn't mind, but its really obvious this game needed it. I can understand why Nintendo did that, but this game had beautiful cinematics. All it needed was some people to act it out. This game could have been soooo much better with that. I think Nintendo will take note of that for the next one. Alot of reviews pointed that out.

The Fire, Ice, and Light arrows were always a waste. You used them about 3 times in one dungeon either to put out a fire or melt ice. And the Light Arrows were only used for defeating Ganon. The rest of the time you just did it for fun.

"It sure as hell isn't as good as Ocarina of Time."?

...I understand the love for the game (heck, I herald it as the best game of all time), but I believe that TP surpasses it.

My opinion is that there should have been voice acting. Link should not have had a voice, but the other characters should have had a voice. Midna's voice should stay the same though. That language she speaks in is so frickin cool.
