I don't think I've ever seen a Diva get this much of a concentrated push and central focus as AJ is getting.

I dug the ending, she's nuts and craves attention, but she's likes playing with everyone and takes out both guys by manipulating them, unusual for sure but at least it's fresh.

Indeed. Taking the company public was just as bad as it was good for the company.

For the sake of the fans and business, I truly hope TNA can continue to grow their product. They've done a fantastic job growing internationally (where they make the bulk of their money) but they need to try to get a firm market stateside.

Agreed on both counts, competition has always bred a better product over the years and the problem with being a public company is you are answering to people who don't understand the wrestling business.

AJ is hot right now. Why the WWE won't put the divas title on her is stupid.

A diva is the star of RAW....is this a bizarre dream?

AJ is a little worker which is why I don't have an issue with how integral she is to this angle, that crowd were silent watching her do what she was doing, she had them in the palm of her hand, then after she takes out both over guys she gets the crowd to follow her YES! chant, she is great.

COMPLETE DETAILS ON THE NEW JACK-BALLS MAHONEY INCIDENT AT EXTREME RISING
by Mike Johnson @ 9:27 PM on 7/2/2012

Since there have been a lot of stories making the rounds since the New Jack-Balls Mahoney fight at Extreme Rising, we've been asked exactly what went down and why.

There had been heat between the two for the last few months. No one I've spoken to seemed to be aware of exactly why it started, but a good portion of the issue was Mahoney being upset over comments that were made about him. Prior to the first Extreme Reunion in April, both made it clear to those they spoke to that when they saw each other, there was going to be an issue.

When they saw each other in April, there was an argument and they went nose to nose but nothing physical happened as they were held apart by Atlas Security.

The week before the Extreme Rising events, Balls Mahoney was interviewed for a future DVD release, using the "n" word in describing New Jack. One person told me the line was that "Jack needed to stop acting like a n-word" and that the word was stated several times during the interview. Jack learned of the comments and made it clear to several that when he saw Balls at the show, there was going to be a problem.

About an hour before the show started, as Shane Douglas was taking part in a pre-show Q&A, Mahoney arrived backstage and entered a room that was being used for the roster to dress. New Jack was already in the room and was telling stories, cracking up those who were there.

The second Balls walked in, the locker room "went silent" as everyone knew there was an issue. As Mahoney was shaking hands, Jack attacked him and punched him. Jack nailed Balls "10-15 times" with hard punches. Mahoney hunched down in a protective stance and kept yelling for Jack to stop but never went down and never fought back. Three different people told me that Mahoney absorbed punches that probably would have knocked the average person out.

Jack then grabbed a machete out of his bag but before he could use it, Atlas Security (who were monitoring the fans in the Arena at the Q&A) had been alerted and charged the room, pulling the two apart. Mahoney protested to the locker room that he had been given permission by Jack to use the verbiage in the interview, swearing that it was true.

Balls, who was busted open and had swelling in his face, was removed from the locker room and placed in a room that was doubling as the company's official office. He dressed and remained there for the rest of the night.

There was no further incident between the two and the belief was that the issue had been settled.

-ANOTHER TNA STAR GONE
Shannon Moore, who had taken a leave of absence from the company earlier in the year, announced tonight via Twitter that he had requested and been granted his release from TNA.

-FUNNY VIDEO OF THE DAY: MR. T TEACHES HULK HOGAN HOW TO STREETFIGHT

This is a classic. If these two were streetfighting in these outfits, well they'd be in trouble.

Oh definitely, but WWE usually don't give a damn about the divas, so this is odd.

No, they do not give a damn about the divas division. Caring about a certain diva in the storyline is a whole other story

Using this angle to springboard AJ's career would be a smart move. Maybe AJ's the one to build the divas' division around.

The best thing about AJ getting all this attention is that she actually wants to be there and loves it. She's not some model they hired and are pushing who's only using it as a stepping stone. She's got a passion for the job and it shows in her work.

True but when was the last time a woman was pushed this hard?

It's been a long time, but for the past several years, no diva has been as great as AJ is in her role.

AJ has the character part down perfectly and that sells her more than any diva to come along since Mickie and Victoria debuted for the company.

While it's going to be great to see some of these past names, I almost feel like it's going to be overkill.

MAJOR NAME SET FOR RAW 1000
by Mike Johnson @ 11:20 PM on 7/2/2012

Several readers in the St. Louis area sent word that localized promos running in the market for the 7/23 1000th episode of Raw listed WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart as appearing. Hart was WWF champion when Monday Night Raw debuted in January 1993. His 3/1/93 WWF title defense against Fatu (the future Rikishi) was the first WWF championship defense in the history of the series.

As we've noted in the past, WWE had a list of 15-20 names from the past they hoped to get on Raw in the weeks leading to and including th
e 1000th episode.

Agreed.

Welcome to the Summer of AJ.

AJ is the only reason I watch WWE right now. She's a pretty compelling character.

I give AJ most of the credit on this one (and whoever had the bright idea to give her this role in the first place). If she wasn't so good in the role I doubt it would have gone this far though.

She's a total package. Cute appealing looks, knows how to wrestle, and knows how to work a crowd and play a character. Most of the diva roster doesn't know how to do all those things.

I think AJ might now how to manipulate a crowd and play a character better than any woman on the roster. And her act plays off EVERYONE well.

I agree with Hunter. Anyone else I might be tired of this all and feel it was taking up too much time but AJ is SOOOO good I can't get enough. I was also impressed with how the crowd got super quiet hanging on her every move then chanted with her. What other woman in WWE now even has the power to do that?

Hopefully this teaches WWE two things: hire more women who are more than just eye candy and it will pay off. Women CAN have more important roles than 2 minute matches.

This is more about AJ than the division. WWE and the audience don't give a crap about most of the Divas or the division in general. Hopefully this leads to more for some of the more talented girls.

At least AJ's over and can work so I don't mind her beating Layla. It would be a blessing actually.

Perhaps WWE can succeed in the Divas divison with her where they failed in it with Kelly Kelly.

That was the best RAW I've seen in quite some time.

1. It kept most of the major angles moving. Punk/Bryan/AJ went off into territory I was NOT expecting. Geez AJ is great at what she's doing. I actually thought she was gonna suicide dive thru the table, she had me convinced it was one of those "look at me" moments. Then the way she smiles after she kisses Punk and then shoves him. Wow, she really is the best actress the E has had in some time.

2. It ended in a new and unexpected fashion and had a couple surprises (Kidd, DDP) along the way.

3. It merged obvious angles. I think the WWE needs to do this more often. The opening promo made so much sense story-line wise, great work by all men involved and great use of continuity (Punk/Jericho, Punk/Cena, Jericho's past).

I'm going out on a limb and making a crazy prediction for MITB, I think Show wins MITB, Bryan beats Punk at the end of the night, Show cashes in and repays Bryan for last year, Bryan goes tweener/face.

Oh definitely, but WWE usually don't give a damn about the divas, so this is odd.

The big question is will this be segwayed into a revival of the Dvia's division or will AJ be more of a character who wrestles from time to time.

Using this angle to springboard AJ's career would be a smart move. Maybe AJ's the one to build the divas' division around.

Well with AJ, Eve, Kharma, Beth, Nattie and Layla there is some potential there. I'd say the main thing would be to put the belt on her and see if the matches she has outside of being Ambrose's Harley get good responses and segment numbers.

The best thing about AJ getting all this attention is that she actually wants to be there and loves it. She's not some model they hired and are pushing who's only using it as a stepping stone. She's got a passion for the job and it shows in her work.

This, it's all down to this, she is a wrestling fan who wanted to be like Lita s a kid, this is what she wants to be, it's not a stop gap on way to something else.

Is it really a good idea for Charlie Sheen to be involved in the 1000th Raw?

winning!

Sheen will probably be snorting coke off his keyboard.

Tyson Kidd just pwned Tensai in less than 30 seconds! :wow:

I'm still watching Raw ( just got home from work) but I hope this push isn't just because Bret is appearing on the 1,000th Raw. Maybe it was to recreate the 1-2-3 Kid moment?

I'm glad to hear about DDP's appearance and Doink. Doink was a big part of RAW in it's early years, so it does seem fitting. I read he was played by the Brooklyn Brawler tonight.

Punk NEEDS to beat HHH at Mania at some point. That sh** from last year just cannot stand as is.

That whole feud was designed to make Punk eat his words. During Punk's infamous rant he called Triple H a doofus. A few months later they are teaming up. They shifted the focus to Triple H's run as COO.

With all the talk of a new star debuting at the 1000th Raw, and with MITB happening a week or two before that, it really would be the perfect time to debut Ambrose. After MITB, they need to move away from AJ playing both Punk and Bryan. Have him come in as the Joker to AJ's Harley, and let them go after either Punk or Bryan, depending on who leaves with the title and where the title scene is going from here.

Simple and logical way to introduce a great new character, keep some spotlight on AJ, and create a new upper-mid carder.

might want to do an aj/eve title feud

only 2 divas who have any actual focus or character
