If The Wrestling Thread Keeps Changing Titles, Thread Manager Gets A Brogue Kick

I'm not completely against the idea, but I do wonder if this Bryan proposed never-ending reign is stemming more form what his fan consensus want to see with him in the spotlight rather than what may the be best idea all round for the company and business as a whole.

Possible predjudice and bias issues aside though, I can see the potential of the idea, and would be willing to give it a chance.

If I'm being honest, I think it's a bit of both. In general, I love the idea of a never-ending heel world title reign. In a current environment of several TV shows a week where every storyline in the wrestling playbook is used and re-used and re-used at such a heightened pace, this is one classic story that WWE hasn't done so much with lately. I think since on Raw you have more of the company's top stars competing for focus, Smackdown is the best place to try a story like this, where it would work the best and where the champion fulfilling the role could flourish the most.

But where my bias comes in is that, while in theory you could have any top heel fulfil this role, I'd personally rather it be Daniel Bryan than, say, Alberto Del Rio or Wade Barrett. That's partly because, yes, he's my favourite wrestler. But it's also because I know he can do this well: his 15-month reign as ROH World Champion is one of the best-booked title reigns I've ever seen from any company.

Well, since I neither own the company nor have stock in it, I say fu** "What's good for business". I'm cheering the guy that I like best.

That should be what's wrestling's about. Wanting to see who you want to see and profits be damned. But seeing how long many of us had been fans and have grown with the business to understand it differently from when we were kids, that idea of what's best for business always comes up. It will play a factor.

But in the end, I want to see AmDrag champion until the end of time! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
