Good way for Cody to get his win over Christian without needing to be IC champ again.

Poor A-Rei. He now gets the non-musical jobber introduction.

Rileys even worse off than his old mentor even though he's better in the ring.

In that case surely Rock is also a hypocrite? In the case of Punk and Orton I think the one difference is that unlike the others neither have ever claimed to be great guys that were nice to everyone, to be a hypocrite you have do one thing and say another.

Exactly. Rock carried a dislike for Shawn Michaels for a long time because he felt disrespected by him as a rookie then he comes back and plays standoffish prima donna himself for a long time.

But when Michaels returned after years away he actually did something for the company long term. He gave back to the company that made him a star and tried his best to help the next generation get ready to carry it.

It's hard to claim Orton is a hypocrite on this issue because Orton has ADMITTED he could be an a**hole. Punks never claimed to be a saint either.

Is this definitely the reason? I'd never heard a concrete explanation over the Austin/Jarrett stuff in 99. One rumour was it was related to an issue JR had with Jerry Jarrett.

The tension started all the way back when "Stone Cold" was working for Jarrett's father. He was looking at his paycheck and JJ sarcastically replied "It ain't going to get any bigger by staring at it!"

Then in 1997 when JJ returned to WWF, he cut this infamous worked shoot promo:

Jeff Jarrett said:
Literally, my first night out on TV, I made a promo by design. I knocked Vince McMahon, who had come off the Survivor Series. I knocked Shawn Michaels, a top babyface. I knocked Bret Hart. And I knocked Steve Austin and I said, 'I'm going to say in this day in age that Austin 3:16 is blasphemous." which it is. Did the promo. Austin went ballistic. Got nuts. Got right in my face. Shawn Michaels was right there when I came through the curtain. He thought I was taking shots at his merchandise when in reality, I'm promoting his merchandise. He's a paranoid guy just like Randy Savage.

{Its actually a good documentary to watch if you ever get around to downloading it.)

So I think for those reasons, Austin took it personal and got back at Jarrett by refusing to work with him.

Was Jarrett really that over in 1999? Even at that time, he still struck me more as midcarder. I've never seen him as more than that. It felt odd to see him as world champion in WCW's final year.

Yes! As much as his haters think otherwise.

I'll admit as much as I enjoyed JJ's country singer gimmick. It wouldn't have worked on a main event level so when he cut his hair, grew the goatee, and developed a serious attitude. It worked perfectly.

Austin could've SERIOUSLY elevated JJ to that next level so it was wrong for him to not do it. Double J was VERY capable of being a main eventer in the WWE; he had all the tools necessary - all he needed was the right feud against the right face.

He could of at least made it to that transitional champ or contender level if the feud with Austin took place, Jarrett was pretty strong on the mic in 1999 and he shown he was strong in the ring in the mid 90's.

Say what you will about Jarrett being the greatest midcarder ever, but he's never let me down as a worker. Ironically, he works better in the ring as a face.

When talking about getting inside AJ, I ain't thinking about her head.

Also, Gorilla Blood returns tonight in 10 minutes!

Can we get an impartial view on this issue thats not...y'know...on a JARRETT produced dvd?

Jarrett wasn't even taken very seriously as a legit main eventer in his OWN COMPANY. He was a solid worker but when more legit stars like Sting and Angle came in it showed he was lacking something.

Even his own father has expressed some doubts about him in the top spot.

....and I wouldn't even call him the greatest midcarder ever even jokingly. :funny: Theres a long line of guys that own him there too.

If Blacklantern were here he'd quote Mike Graham.

@Blackheart, cheers, I'll check that out man.

Cole! :funny:

Wow, it's like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan just kissed each other now. :(

Trust me, even I'm not liking that mental image.

At some point...this got a little ECW soap opera-y. Only everybody involved can acutally work.

"So Punk...what does Daniel Bryan taste like?" :funny:

Punk and Bryan certainly made the most of that. :funny:

Punk and Orton you can make cases for if you wish, but what has Cena done?

He didn't complain though, he just said they were phonies in presenting one image and then acting a different way to the boys. Punk is pretty much what you see is what you get.

Also he wasn't complaing about The Rock ignoring him, he was saying The Rock was acting like a diva *****e to the whole locker room, like he was too good to be there. The Hogan thing is from a Austin DVD where the various guys were telling Austin stories, it wasn't that he was upset with Hogan, he was pointing out the difference between Hogan and Austin.

Cena walks around spouting loyality and respect while cheating on his wife with strippers, groupies, divas, and overweight chicks on a dare. He's the last guy to talk about Rock being a phony. Cena shoulda just left it at "I love wrestling more than the rock does."

And Punk can act like a diva *****e as well...so why is he whining when someone else does it? Punk clearly had a problem with Rock in 2011...especially since he called him an asskisser in his infamous "pipebomb" promo when he didnt even need to bring him up...he also mentioned Hogan as well. I've seen that segment of the Austin DVD and I dont agree that Punk dosent have a problem with Hogan.

Is it ok to act like jerk to employees and fans because unlike the other guy you're upfront about it? A Jerk is a jerk, whether or not he's open about it. So why is a jerk going on interviews talking about how much of a jerk another guy is? Honestly, deep down, even if Rock had his character defects, Cena/Punk/Orton taking potshots was rooted in ego. You can disagree with all this, but thats how I see it.

Taste the Vegan, Champ. With a slight aftertaste of Kane. Sunny used to do the same stuff onlly there was no camera around. Ok ok...not a WWF camera.
