Zodiac

Question:

Am I the only person who was pretty disappointed by this film? I liked it, but I thought it was lacking something, and I don't know what.

It was intriguing, and engaging, and I was entertained, but felt that I was waiting for something that never happened.

I think maybe I was expecting another Se7en, and Zodiac had an entirely different life about it.

Thoughts?

Ditto

I really think I wanted another wierd, disturbing movie like Se7en and instead got a more grounded, almost documentary like story about Zodiac.

Zodiac for me is Fincher's best film since it's more about story than style and I like that.

The answer? People often always want to know what happend and have things explained to them. Leaving things with open endings often doesn't sit well with them.

I thought it was fantastic. One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

I’m so pissed off with myself that I missed it while it’s in theaters.

As you should be

I was so engrossed in the film the whole time it was great. I have to admit that this and Hot Fuzz are the films I am most looking forward to coming to DVD. :D

I saw the movie last week. Very intriguing and a fantastic visual style. Very good.

I'm dying to see this. Great cast, the fantastic mystery of the Zodiac, and David Fincher = One hell of a movie.

A few more weeks till DVD.

I really enjoyed it, it had me guessing and on the edge of my seat teh whole time. Whens its DVD release?

I never got around to seeing it in theaters. I hope the DVD is out soon and that it kicks ass.

I saw it a while back but I kept dozing off during key moments. Not because the movie was boring, I was just tired as. But from what I saw, it was fantastic. Ruffalo was the pick of the actors, and it was classy Fincher work. Definantly need to watch it again.

This is a perfect 10/10; by far the best film of the year. This is a prime example of why Fincher is one of the best directors around.

Fantastic performances all around, most notably Robert Downey Jr. He had some really great lines.

Not getting DVD... I am FURIOUS!

WTF is up with this DVD?!

I can sense a double dip from a miles away. :(

Well that sucks and is good news. Good in that we'll get a more detailed film with extras. Bad news- 2008. Please be January!!! I seriously dont want to wait much longer.

I felt the same about this movie as I felt after watching The Good Shepperd. It didn't entertain me at all, but I appreciated it as a well made and good movie.

and they're both long as hell with seemingly nothing happening.

There's some scenes in this movie which gave me the kind of creeps I haven't had in awhile.

When Graysmith is in Vaughn's house near the end of the movie. It gets even more tense when he's down in the basement. And when he runs to get out of the house, then realizes the front door is locked, I got goosebumps when that guy appears behind him. That whole scene gave me the chills.
