Zombieland Is Open For Business.

Caught this Yesterday, pretty fun movie. Wished it had more kick-ass in it than set-up gag's and screw-overs, but it worked for what it was.

Not surprised after all the flack about running zombies in Zack Snyders Dawn of The Dead, that no one makes a peep about them now. Even though in this movie they are more Virus Mutants than Traditional Zombies. Still, goes to show that fanboys are fickle and have the attention span of a gnat.

Loved the Bill Murray cameo, was definitely a highlight.

I never understood why people *****ed about that so....if people are freshly dead, I guess the body would be mobile enough to run....

I like running zombies. They scare the crap out of me most of the time. Slow zombies done nowadays I kind of laugh at. (They're still pretty damn creppy in the original Romero films though)

Yeah, the running zombies thing is something I've loved about newer zombie films (although you can go back to some early 80s flicks and find a few examples of runner zombies).

7.5/10

Just because they run like the infected in 28 Days Later doesn't mean they're not zombies.

The only films that are questionable and that bring up debates is 28 Days/Weeks later. In the remake of Dawn of the Dead and Zombieland...they're zombies, regardless of what killed everyone, whether it's random or some kind of chemical warfare.

I prefer to mix things up...I like to see more decomposed slow movers...and then the "fresher" fast movers. :)

that's how I always figured it...if the body is freshly dead, it will move as fast as it can to feed...and the more the body decomposes the slower it moves

To me zombies are people dead who have risen and are walking. Hence the walking. People seriously take that stuff too seriously. Like it's a law or something.

I love fast zombies. They're scary as hell. And if you put yourself in a real life situation, like the tunnel scene in 28 Days Later, what's more scary? Running zombies like in the film or walking zombies? Whatever. Both work in terms of suspense.

Oh, and her skin tone looked...just off.

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt kick her out of bed for eating crackers...I just dont think she's at a level to be a Hollywood sex symbol.

Yes, she's not blonde, doesn't have fake boobs and isn't on every gossip magazine regarding who she's sleeping with or what drugs she's on.

She's everything a hollywood sex symbol should be.

Hollywood sex symbols should be a "perfect" vision of sex appeal...which changes over time. Pamela Anderson used to be that vision, but women who look like her aren't anymore. I just think that her Emma Stones face seems a little too odd to really be a major sex symbol. That isnt calling her ugly.

It used to really bother me, because no one said a damn thing about running dead in Return of the Living Dead. But like I said, fanboy's, gnat's, attention spans...

You know...I just dont think Emma Stone is that hot. She's a little weird looking in the mouth area...
I would like to personally make her mouth area look weirder.

I went looking for some pictures, and found some where she looks pretty darn hot...still dont thinks shes anything great in the movie though.

Just saw this last night, in a totally empty theatre (except my gf and I).
I have to say that I thought it was an AMAZING movie and immediately wanted to see it again.
The opening title sequence was a masterpiece and probably one of the best I've seen in my life, and definitely the best I've seen in a long while (with a perfect soundtrack behind it).
Woody had me cracking up from the moment I saw him (big fan..most of the time) and the Murray cameo was priceless.
This is one that I will do my best to see in the theatre again and buy on dvd the day it comes out.

Saw the movie on Friday and thought it was great! Just the right mix of comedy and horror. It was also really weird to see the main cast stay alive through the movie. I was definitely expecting to see them start to bite it when they got to the amusement park.

i thought so too.

at the end when colombus found tallahasee in the snack shack going crazy looking for a twinkie, i thought that he had been bitten and wanted deperately to find a twinkie and eat it before he turned.

Looking back at the old zombie films...how the hell did anyone ever get caught by one of those stumbling, shuffling, slow coaches? :funny: I mean, if you can't get away from one of those zombies, you deserve to die as far as I'm concerned.

Runners are much better.

Just saw it. Pretty funny -- though I really expected MORE funny (gotta stop paying attention to the interwebs..) -- especially after the first scenes and that great credits scene/intro. Still good, of course.

And Emma Stone.. man oh man :awesome:  first time I see her in action -- she's a doll. And that voice! Can't believe she's only 21.

Good fun movie. I rate it 3 out of 5

edit: what's that scene after the credits? I couldn't understand a thing (strange dub in the *copy* I saw)

Hey, Quit Downloading Zombieland

Disheartening news for those expecting to see a sequel for Zombieland. Co-writer Rhett Reese posted the following message on his Twitter account this afternoon.

"Zombieland currently the most pirated movie on bit torrent. Over one million downloads and counting," he then adds, "Beyond depressing. This greatly affects the likelihood of a Zombieland 2."

In our exclusive interview with Reese and his writing partner Paul Wernick told me they've got plenty of ideas for a follow-up. But that was contingent on the film's box office success. Unfortunately, online piracy puts a dent in that success.

Roughly six weeks after its debut, Zombieland has grossed an estimated $83 million worldwide. It remains in the top 20 (it grossed $1.2 million over the weekend). I'm not sure what marker Sony is trying to meet before they give the go ahead for a sequel, because it's made some good money, still, the piracy is a load of horse****. And it'd be a shame if we missed out on sequel because of that.

If you want Zombieland 2 quit downloading it and tell people not too either.

Not condoning the pirating of Zombieland, but I think the movie is better standing alone than with a sequel.

And some people say piracy has no influence. Ugh.

Piracy does have an influence. It influences people to complain about it.
