Zombieland Is Open For Business.

Saw it last night, and it was pretty cool. Could have been better, but for free, I can't complain. Zombie Squad were also there all decked out in their vests and gear. All in all a good night.

I'm afraid to ask, but who or what is Zombie Squad?

It's what I thought it was sadly, a group of people taking things a bit too seriously. My friends and I growing up would mess around with the idea of 'what would you do if there was a worldwide zombie attack' but we knew the difference between fiction and reality.

Good god, people take so much stuff serious.

Good God...

:o Now I wish zombies were real...

Why is this film 81 minutes? I know Evil Dead 1 and 2 were less than 90 minutes each....but c'mon, this isn't a cartoon movie.

I probably wait for the 2 dollar theater now or blind buy the dvd.

I don't know why people are saying this will be number one. People are underestimating the 3D re-releases of the first two Toy Story movies. I think that will beat this movie to finish at number one. It's been getting mostly good reviews, but you don't underestimate Pixar. Never do that, even if it is a limited engagement re-release.

Even if it is a short time, i'm going to support the genre and to see the new NOES trailer on the big screen!

i just hope the NOES trailer is playing on both screens. It's playing on two screens.

Hopefully you get the right one.

This Saturday my gf and I we'll be checking this one out at the drive-in.

My first time at a drive-in and it's a double feature for only $6.50, that's cheaper than a single movie at most regular theatres.

Thanks. I went and seen Saw 5 last year cause of the F13 teaser was playing. I didn't get it though, so snuck into the next showing of the other theater. I was paranoid the whole time of fear of getting caught.

Yeah that's the one good thing about them. What other movie is playing with it?

After Zombieland, The Surrogates is playing. Didn't get that great of reviews but it's a Bruce Willis film and it's basically free so I still want to check it out.

Hey, it's free so why should it matter? It's not like you have to be to work the next day or so do you?

Nope, I get weekends off thankfully. Zombieland starts at 6:30 and is around 90 minutes so I figure we'll get out of there around 11:00 at the latest which isn't too bad.

But, people in full Stormtrooper garb, Spidey suits and people dressed as Batman/Joker are completely immersed in said reality, correct?

It's the same thing. Just good fun. And it also doesn't hurt to be prepared....

My wife and I, on a daily basis, talk about what we would do RIGHT NOW if a zombie outbreak happened. What's the harm? They're just like any other gathering of people with a shared interest.

So, why again does it make you sad?

Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend a Saturday night.

I'll watch this movie eventually when its on DVD. Looks alot like the game Dead Rising, so Im hoping for the best.

Big difference.

I don't have a problem with people who dress on festive occassions like Halloween or going to a Convention.

This 'Zombie Squad' sounds like an organized tree house club for adults. They took it too far is why I think it's lame. Those other people you mentioned, the ones who dress up as Spider-Man, Batman/Joker or characters from Star Wars do so at conventions and or Halloween. Zombie Squad seems like they're trying to be 'leet' or some crap.

I don't know, just the way you said that Zombie Squad was there it just made it seem like they are some "big thing" which makes it even more embarassing for them as well as people/fanboys who get excited over them as if they're celebrities or something.

Zombieland should make back it's budget, whatever that is. Some of the reviews say it's on a lower budget, which explains why the movie was entirely shot in Georgia. Would have been a lot more expensive if it shot in California.

For anyone to not even consider that such a biological weapon could ever exist are foolish and lack imagination. I'm not talking about corpses rising from graveyards, but something closer to the rage virus or the super rabies thing in Quarantine. What better way to demolish your enemy by making them do it themselves?

I never said that. I do actually believe and know that there are plenty of biological weapons being made, and yes some that might even cause something like in Quarantine or 28 Days Later.

My whole argument was that that specific group seemed pretty lame. I'd also put money down that they would be some of the first ones to bite it if something like 28 Days Later ever happened since what they do is all for show and fanboyism over Zombie movies.

So What , It's a social group . They can do whatever , I just think they are trying to have a good time. It's not like people should join and be upset at an actual zombie massacre that no one in the group is equipped to handle the situation . I also don't think they actually expect to be faced with such a thing.
