the 28 days films though technically not "zombie" films are considered in genre. Since that film there have been a few more that include the quicker ones. (not just Dawn some of the low budgets are jumping that band wagon as well) Researching the old films I was surprised at what some of the originals were capable of. The Very First Ghoul knew enough to try the handle of the car door and then picked up a rock and smashed the window when he couldn't get in. Later on the outside ones smashed the lights of the truck(not sure why)... there are a few more little bits like that I saw that colored my "Definitive Ghoul" for my rendition including the lurching stride that was much faster than I expected in that "First Contact Scenario"...they've only been featured in one film, though. not exactly a staple of the modern zombie films. i can't stand them and wouldn't have them in my movie, but whatever works for you.
