I've only ever passed by the covers of those, never looked into it. The artwork looked cool, but what the hell is it about?

A zombie outbreak that eventually destroyed the entire Marvel universe.

All right fellow zombie fans, today your Chief Weapons Officer will teach you all about mêlée weapons.

Obviously it's preferable under most circumstances to snipe a zombie with a rifle but life's sometimes a *****. Sometimes you've just got to get in there close quarters and bash their god damn skull in. This post will discuss the best and worst mêlée weapons.

Bladed Weapons

Swords This weapon may have been out dated for a couple hundred years but don't dismiss it. It worked just fine killing hundreds of millions of people for tens of thousands of years. There's always the asinine urging to go "bigger is better" and grab he biggest two handed sword you can find, the problem is these swords weigh about twenty to thirty pounds and aren't suitable when the target is within a few inches. Not to mention the fact that it's extremely hard to find one that's actually "battle ready".

Then there's the single handed swords and the Japanese Katana, the best bladed weapons you can get your hands on. Being one handed jobs you can manipulate other objects like a door knob or even carry a shield if you can find one. But remember, swords take years of practice before you become adequate with them. You don't want to pick one up for the first time in the midst of a Zombie outbreak.

Smash and bash weapons

This stupid little term can apply to crowbars, maces, chainsaws and ect. I'll only mention a few.

Mace: It's hard to do wrong with this weapon, it generates enough force to crush even the thickest skull and the spikes can cause even greater damage. Sadly, most of the new maces you'll find are worthless collectors items that would break with the first hit. Make sure it's the real deal before you use it!

Crowbar: Hard to do wrong with this weapon, it's light enough for even the weakest survivor to carry and it has sharp points for piercing into the eye and brain case. They can even do their original purpose and pry things open! :wow:

Chainsaw: Avoid this device at all costs! It's heavy, requires gas and is loud enough to alert more ghouls to your position. Not to mention a simple slip up will kill you too. If you happen to find one siphon out the gas for your generator and move on.

The movies lie, avoid this weapon!

Minor point: the strongest point on a Katana is roughly 6" from its tip. Its weak point is actually near the handle....so the strong/weak points for a katana is actually the opposite of the first pictured sword.

I just used google image search. :o

i finished reading the marvel zombies vs army of darkness. it was ok , i would of liked to see ash kill more zombie superheroes . i liked the backstroy of how reed richards was cnvinced being a zombie was a higher level of being and brought down alot of the heroes. also a random appearance by howard the duck was cool.
the marvel zombies always seem somewhat intelligent . i would like to see that in a film. instead of mindless zombies. i know it doesnt make much sense but whatever.
also it would be cool if they adapted marvel zombies into a movie. actually it would probably turn out bad .

Well, as current chief executive of the Zombie Liason Office and the acting CEO of PAZS[People Against Zombie Stereotypes] ask you to become creative in your personal and recommendations of zombie killing arsenals. A chainsaw is a stereotypical way of killing zombies when we all know it would take some time and skill to actually cut through the neck and spine, or the the skull to effectively kill a zombie. Other zombies would have immediately rushed you. Samurai swords on the other hand we highly recommend here as they are sharp, clean, fast, and effective. We here at PAZS ask you to always remember the phrase SCFE[sharp, clean, fast, and effective]when choosing your weaponry to fight off the hordes of undead. If you have any questions regarding zombie affairs, events, and activities, please contact my office. Thanks:woot:

I don't remember appointing you ****. :o

This Chief Weapons Officer is gonna mop the floor with you! :cmad:

I took the side nobody dared to take. Plus I appointed myself like 8 pages back
Your right but I didn't give your approval, thats like running around claiming to be the Chief of Staff, but you aren't. :o

if i have to fight zombies i hope to do it with a chainsaw. i know its cliche but having a machine gun with 1000s of bulets isnt likely. also chainsawing off limbs is about the extent of fun i need to have before i die.

A chainsaw would be a bigger threat to you than it would a zombie. Not to mention that it's heavy and requires gas.

You're best bet would be an M1 Garand.

^in that case i may as well use an m249 saw machine gun. at least that im familiar with.

  1. You have to be able to make a consistent head shot to kill a zombie.
  2. The Squad Automatic Rifle is quite heavy and wastes lots of ammo, you're not going to be able to find ammo depots in a zombie wasteland now are you?

1. you absolutely could from the right position
2. i did say earlier that i would prefer a chainsaw because i couldnt rely on ammo and at least i could have the chance to saw up some limbs before i die

whens the next zombie flick? not counting resident evil . i hate those movies

I always thought that the ideal zombie hunting weapon was a sawed-off shotgun... :ninja: :word:
