Zombies!

Yep! causes they died, they move slow, and head shots are damn near the only way to kill them... so despite their non mystical origin they follow the "zombie" (I hate that word they're ghouls) rules. long as it's undead, craves flesh and requires a head shot to kill it technically classifies (in my book)
That's the 28 D/W L zombie.:o

But w/e, I can't change your mind.

Can we agree they're zombie-like?

Lords Of Light Man!
1)they are not undead; not a single rage infectee died as a result of contracting rage (the first thing any bite or other type of infection does before u hit the "zombie" state is kill you, then you rise a zombie. No death=no undeath)
2) they do not crave flesh; the only time a rage infected bites is to further violate it's victim it does not crave human flesh.
3)a head shot is not required to kill them; many heart shots or multiple body shots dropped the infected in both movies.

but other than that yeah they're "Zombie-like" ...mindless swarming creatures that go after those unlike them=dead match

but not a qualifer in my book :cwink:

but that's not a zombie taking it back to the well spring they only hunted if commanded to and the condition can't be transmitted by a bite...

as for the rest see post 474 of this thread by yours truly (bottom of the last page)

ok nothing in that article supports your claim... it actually backs mine that they don't qualify...

The wellspring would place them in voodoo, and they'd be fully capable of regular thought and movement.

The Romero zombie was different from the original zombies of movies themselves.

And they just looked for whoever was uninfected.

And in classic Romero, a bite didn't turn you. Death did.

I mean, I can see the 28 guys not truly being zombies in the classic Romero sense, but they're considered part of the zombie genre by most fans of the genre.

the 28 days guys were living, breathing humans infected by a virus who focused all of their energy on violence and destruction. they weren't undead ghouls feeding on flesh, therefore, they aren't zombies in the traditional, romero-style, but they were definitely inspired by romero's movies so i don't mind people calling them zombies, as long as they realize the difference. how about calling them "rage-aholics"?

Wrong.

how do zombie's know what meat is fresh and what brains are alive to eat?

you wouldn't think they'd have any sense of smell or anything.

true "zombies in the classic sense weren't capable of reg thought and movement they were basically lobotomized...

never disputed, actually touched on that in post #420

"infected" as in the movie seems the best moniker I said it in #459
Krit reminded us in post #484
actually she's right unless the "first" zombie was going around digging up dead people to bite...

they have to either still be able to smell somehow or have some kind of "life sense"...

A space radiated satellite fell back to Earth. The Virus caused death and rebirth in the form of a zombie. Bites do that too, depending on the severity of the injury, location of injury and quantity of injuries. If they haven't eaten you alive already.

Romero never cosigned that so I can't call it cannon ...

How else would a zombie come to? Biological and Supernatural circumstance seem to be the only way for such a thing to even be considered possible.

Unless you imply someone is born a zombie and grows up to finally decide to rot and feed on all living things? Or someone at death decides not to die and just wants to stay and eat the living?

well i believe it was said in both Dawn's
When there is no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.
now that doesn't technically explain it but the do we really need it explicitly explained?

one of the two yes but I don't think we'd have time to worry about the details :cwink:

Indeed. I believe the point is to not know. As long as the undead die! Again!

Happened to ME. (chomps on human leg)

Met George Romero And Robert Kirkman at Comic-Con :D

What'd they say? What'd you say?
Kirkman was in a bad mood didn't get to talk to him much (besides he was sitting next to R.A. Salvatore who a. happens to be my favorite writer of all time and b, I have met before and had several conversations with) they were finishing up a signing.

But Romero was really cool
He was sitting at the avatar booth by himself 9 yeah I know but I also met Warren Ellis at the Avatar booth sitting by himself...

I talked to him for a few minutes thanked him for getting us started and told him I had just finished my Zombie script he smiled and offered pleasantries about that (I'm sure he's heard that millions of times)
but then I'm the guy that met Andy Hallet at a con told him I would be working on Angel and saw him about a year later on set ;)
it was very cool to get to meet them both and shake their hands and really put a fire under my ass to get moving so...

Best of luck.

what'd you and Romero talk about?
Not much Asked how he was enjoying the con, general inquiries... he was cool but he seemed bored I didn't want to launch into a conversation he didn't seem interested in ( he had a panel the night before that I missed on Zombies and the such) he asked if I had an agent (I don't, not a writing one anyways) and wished me luck on my endeavors. I intend to contact him after I have representation, he seemed open to professional inquiries through the right channels.
Best of luck.
thanx I'll post here when I have progress
