“Destroyer (Part 2)" Talkback/Discussion

He felt he needed to understand humanity better in order to protect them, so he left to live amongst them. Of course when he left, it was in the form of John Jones, not an Asian man.

In episode 4 he had develped some very bitter feelings towards human beings...part of the reason why he wanted to remain in the Watchtower playing moderator, he grew disgusted of human kind.

It wasn't until Diana (I think) or someone of the original 7 told him not to judge human beings so quickly that J'onn decided to leave the JLU and go on a quest to better understand humanity.

EDIT: Speaking of J'onn, was he voiced by someone else in Destroyer? The voice seemed off.

sounded like the same guy to me.

i'd IMDB it but, i dont trust them

J'onn and Flash seemed a bit off to me, though J'onn' s was much more pronounced.

See, Flash was off, but you could tell it was Michael Rosembaum. J'onn, though sounded like a completely different person--at least to me.

True. I didn't pick up on Flash until the end of the ep. J'onn seemed off from the jump. Maybe it was because I hadn't heard his voice in awhile. I should check out an old ep and compare.

No he was credited as the same guy. I thought he sounded very different towards the end as did Flash, but when he made his initial (and only) comment to Diana he sounded like himself. You could argue that because he was with humanity for so long even his voice changed to sound more human than before his little journey.

I just saw the episode; I loved it. I thought that this episode was to Superman what "Divided We Fall" was to Flash!
The ending made me feel that I can't wait to see what happened to Lex and Darkseid. So I'm praying that this isn't it for J.L.U.
My only complaint........
where was Captain Marvel?!!!!!! (He definately deserved a cameo, especially with a threat of this magnitude.) It was great to see Blue Devil though and with dialogue too!

Wow...so i just saw this ep on youtube(I live in america, mind you)......

And it was pretty good. I squeeled when Supes went balistic on Darkseid. And Batman dodging the omega beams was awesome, and his acrobatics was great as well. Everyone getting their due somehow was great as well. Question running over people was funny. And lex finally got what he wanted. Either that, or he and darkseid are dead

Man, I'm gonna miss this show.

Just found this on another board, awesome:up:

I think this episode is up there with Divided we Fall and some of the other classic DCAU episodes.

I think its good but I thought Alive was better.

Divided we Fall was much better

Can we get some screen captures!?!?!?!?

Nice thank you so much!!!

I cant wait for this 2 part Finale after seeing those caps.!!! YOu have almost made my day. Came close but just didnt pull it off. Lol

Well, if I could find a way to post all 100+ screencaps that I made, maybe that'd make you feel better. :P

Honestly though, I thought if they'd take less time with the re-introduction/calling of all the JLU members, the episode could have been better.

I've also heard rumors that the studio that brought us the JLU is going to bringing us the Legion of Superheroes next. Just a rumor, though.

Bruce Timm pretty much comfirmed Legion of Superheroes in an interview.

It's one of the only things about the series that ticked me off. He was always so de-powered. OK, post-Crisis Superman, I get it, but come on. We finally get Supes moving toward his potential and it's game over. Well, at least we got to see it.

Although I humbly LOVED the show I agree. The only thing that bothered me was how watered down Supes was. I'm glad they finally SAID he was watered down. Diana saying "and the adventure continues" at the end rocked.

The Trinity running down the stairs with BATS leading rocked (although I would have it be :supes:).

My only gripe about this phenomenal episode was THERE WAS NO AQUAMAN! Damnit! He was original 5!

I just wanted a few frames of him and some whales kicking the para demons ass. Nothing more than that would have made me happy :)

There are a few others that they missed as well...Aquaman was original five, but Red Tornado, Atom Smasher, Nightwing, Cyborg, Orion (don't tell me apokolyps is attacking and he's not wanting a fight). What about all of the amazons? Would have been nice to see Dr. Light, Dr. Zoom, some of the other secret society members kicking some major a$$ too.

And let's face it....Bats is the man....we know we like to think that Sups is it....but in any elseworld series were Sups has to be put down...who does it, Bats. I honestly believe that no one can stop the man, so long as he has time to prepare.

Cyborg's rights are tied up with Teen Titans
