“Destroyer (Part 2)" Talkback/Discussion

Cyborg's rights are tied up with Teen Titans.

Well, the circle is complete. Thank you Bruce Timm, thank you Paul Dini. My childhood wouldn't have been the same without your work. You guys educated me in the comicbook universe and lead to me reading them on my own.

My childhood truly is over now. I'm finished with the modern cartoons. Gonna collect the old stuff. I hope they release a DCAU DVD set with every thing from BTAS, STAS, and JLAU.

You saw it on youtube too?

EDIT: Sage, you dont watch adult swim, family guy, etc?

Yup...sad, isnt it? I saw this and Alive on youtube....

I don't watch those, no. Could never get into them.

And I didn't use youtube. This is actually my first time hearing about it.

Yeah, but come on, they're the same studio....and technically, Teen Titans ended like 3 weeks ago....and JLU is still running. :P

An uber pissed off Superman? I can't wait. I understand depowering Supes so it won't make the rest of the superheroes look like chumps but the idiot writers depowered him too much.

as for the superman punch, it didn't seem that big a deal for me...

I mean in the original supes cartoon, in the main man part one, he hits Lobo way harder than he hits darkseid and he doesn't boast about letting loose...

besides the whole flight plan of darkseid was all wrong... there was no reason for him to fly up in the air the way he did and stay level, kinda putt a downer on it...

at least with the main man ep, lobo is still rising when he's going through buildings and his trajectory in comparison to the manner in which he was punched all pretty much adds up.

I watched the first season of JLA and stopped watching it. Recently caught Dead Reckoning and imediately downloaded the entire fourth season. Amazing. Then I downloaded the entire fifth season. It is amazing as well. Alive and Destroyer should of been a two hour movie, they were still my favorites though.

hail and farewell my super friends
er shayera put the mace down willya?

I'm going back to the drawing board on my DCAU TRIBUTE MUSIC VIDEO! I found a better song that fits this and probably the fans who can't live with TB and without Timmverse.

Finally saw the episode . I give it 9/10  . I would have given it 10/10 if they gave Supes a little while longer to cut loose. Maybe this is an indication that in the future hopefully another Superman cartoon series , the writers would finally return Superman a little closer to his Pre-Crisis glory days where he was near god like :supes: and pretty much scared the #&^* out of everyone.

Unfortunately, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman and Batman (save for "The Batman" series) have all had their rights sold to Warner Brothers movie for what they're terming as "life" (until WB gives up the contracts), which means no more of any of them on TV. :(

Where exactly did you hear that? It doesn't make any sense. WB owns DC.

For anyone who has seen that Tribute video I made with my review: I'm gon a remake it to something better and a perfect song that fans are feeling now.

So if you saw it, delete it. If you didn't, well see it anyway 'til the next one comes.

Lookin' forward to it Binker. Especially after the news from the CN conference the other day. Boy, did that suck (somewhat predictable, but still full of suckitude).

Warner Brothers Press owns DC, not Warner Brothers Motion Pictures, which are two separate (legal) entities. In order to use the characters between the two, they have "sell" them to the Motion Pictures studio. Time Warner, itself, is under a great deal of pressure to continue this break up, as many feel that it has become too big and may risk anti-trust legislation. This is the same group that owns AOL, CNN, CBS, etc. etc.

I heard this about 2 months ago when we first heard that Teen Titans was being cancelled and JLU had a good chance of being cancelled, I want to say that it was Cinescape or perhaps Hercules that had posted it on their respective sites.

OK, so this more of a continuance of the TW breakup stuff; more political than anything else. Seems weird that they would have to convey the rights "for life". However, Congress has been on TW's ass since the AOL merger went down. The delineation of properties makes sense, but it's a shame they feel they have to go to such extremes to avoid more scrutiny. After all, it is a natural synergy between the two entities.

Thanx for the fill-in Cryo. I haven't been over to Cinescape in ages.

This song is perfect. The song itself, or just the title, is EXACTLY what you guys are thinking about now with the end of JLU. And maybe you TB-haters too.

Its jazzy. No rock, just piano, a pretty woman's voice doing the lyrics, saxophone (or maybe its a trombone), drums. That stuff.

No biggie, just glad I could bring some news in, even if it's sad.

Cinescape has digressed, if you ask me. Used to be that they were cutting edge on news, now it seems that they're a few days behind. I would say that I get about 1 new headline in 20 off of their pages now :(
