The Offer

Mini series about making The Godfather.

I find it hilarious the real story changes depending who is talking. Coppola by his own account was mainly responsible for getting it made. Bob Evans claimed that it was he responsible for Brando and releasing the longer cut, which is disputed by Coppola. Now in this account in this series, the mastermind was Albert Ruddy. Mastermind Ruddy who gave this Godfather rights to go make The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds. Lawd. Matthew Goode plays a great Bob Evans. Tis' uncanny how much he transformed into him and got his actual voice down. Dan Fogler was good as Coppola, not his fault he comes off at times goofy and way too much humor. We have actual footage and real hand accounts to just go with these choices. Eh, it was an ok series.

WGA Approves Strike Authorization Vote - Variety

The Writers Guild of America has passed a strike authorization vote with 97.85% voting in favor, giving union leadership the power to call a strike once the contract expires on May 1.

In an email to members, the guild said that 78.79% of eligible members had cast ballots.

“These results set a new record for both participation and the percentage of support in a strike authorization vote,” the guild said. “Our membership has spoken. You have expressed your collective strength, solidarity and the demand for meaningful change in overwhelming numbers. Armed with this demonstration of unity and resolve, we will continue to work at the negotiating table to achieve a fair contract for all writers.”

The vote was widely expected, and does not make a strike inevitable. The union has said that the goal was to increase negotiators’ leverage as talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers go down to the wire.

Some in the guild also argued that a higher percentage voting in favor would make a strike less likely. The idea is that it would communicate that the guild is united, and make the studios less inclined to try to test its strength in a strike.

Babylon is straight dumpster fire.

One of the things that makes me mad is the ending to Pitt's character. It is far better in the original script. Margot got that IT factor of course, but her IT factor doesnt seem to translate well into box office so far, Which will hopefully change with Barbie, but still.

Pitt character in the script for those interested.

In the script, he goes out on top. One last hurrah, he makes a ''talkie' flick, which is both a boxoffice hit and with critics. He walks the room taking it all in, everybody worshiping him, and he decided to end it with a content smile. He goes out on top. His way.

What did you think of the whole "Hollywood disappears up its own ass" montage at the very end?

After Black Adam doing what it did, I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in Fast 11.
