I saw Cruising with Al Pacino earlier this week. Really underrated. It’s a gritty slasher/thriller from the 80’s.
William Friedkin deserves more praise and cinematic love in the general sense. I highly recommend 'Sorcerer', which came out the same weekend as Star Wars and was buried at the box office and kinda forgotten for a while, but tis' a masterpiece. The only real bummer thing about it is the original cast that didn't pan out. Steve Mcqueen wanted a small role for his then wife (Ali MacGraw), Friedkin refused, which led to SM dropping out. Marcello Mastroianni took the role do to him wanting to work with McQueen, so he dropped out soon after. Friedkin has stated this being his biggest regret as a director. Anyway, enough of my ramblings ... bald @Kane52630 is wrong about John Wick.
