I'm telling you, every one involved with this case needs to watch Primal Fear before proceeding forward with any of this ****.

Did he also forget planning this for months, stockpiling weapons for months, booby-trapping his apartment for months, and seeing a psychiatrist for months before this?

I wouldn't be surprised if he actually doesn't remember the couple minutes of the shooting. That doesn't really change anything though, he still planned this for months.

The theater where James Holmes opened fire last week, killing 12 people, is offering to pick up funeral expenses for the victims' families ... TMZ has learned.

Several funerals were held Friday in Aurora, Colorado -- one of them for Rebecca Wingo ... a 32-year-old mother of 2.

Sources close to Rebecca's mother tell TMZ, Cinemark -- corporate owners of the Century 16 Theater -- called the chapel where Rebecca's service was held ... and offered to foot the bill for her funeral.

In fact, the owner of the chapel says Cinemark told him it was willing to provide financial backing to all victims' families -- by paying any funeral expenses not covered by the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund.

We're told Rebecca's mother turned down the offer.

It's unclear how many funeral homes and chapels in Aurora got the same call. Cinemark hasn't returned our call for comment yet.

Holmes has definitely been too immersed in comics if he thinks the ole "I got amnesia!" chestnut will fly.

Colorado gunman sought psychiatric treatment

James Holmes (24), the gunman charged in the killing of 12 people at the Batman movie premier in Aurora, Colorado, on July 20, was seeking psychiatric help at the university where he studied, court documents in the case have revealed.

Earlier this week news emerged that Holmes had mailed a notebook outlining his plans to unleash violence to a psychiatrist at the University of Colorado days ahead of the attack. However the package containing Holmes’ detailed notes was lying in the mailroom of the university for up to a week, law enforcement officials said.

On Friday, defence attorneys who sought to discover the source of leaks to media on Holmes sending the package to university psychiatrist Lynne Fenton disclosed that Holmes “was being treated by a psychiatrist at the university.”

The Associated Press quoted Holmes’ attorneys as saying “The government's disclosure of this confidential and privileged information has placed Mr. Holmes' constitutional rights to due process and a fair trial by an impartial jury in serious jeopardy.”

The motion was also said to have noted that the package sent by Holmes contained communications with his psychiatrist “that should be shielded from public view,” and it described Holmes as a “psychiatric patient” of Dr. Fenton.

The revelations in the Aurora shootings case came even as a second instance of a planned attack on the public appeared to be narrowly averted.

According to police in Maryland “a violent episode” and “another Aurora” had been averted after officers raided the home of a man in the town of Crofton and seized 25 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

The man, who authorities are yet to name publicly, allegedly described himself as “a joker” – a potential reference to the arch-villain in the Batman movies – and threatened to shoot his colleagues at a firm from which he was about to be laid off.

Media reports said that the man, who is undergoing “mental evaluations” at a hospital in Maryland, told an employer at packaging and shipping company Pitney Bowes in Prince George's County that he was “going to load my guns and blow everyone up.”

Give me a break.

It is obviously the same guy. In the picture in which he is smiling his smile causes his nose to scruntch up a bit and flare out, making it appear "shorter." In the second picture, the "bigger ear" is clearly turned towards the camera a bit more than the other ear, as his head is at a tilt.

That conspiracy picture will probably be the stupidest thing I read this week.

There is nothing new about the headline "No one laughed at Dane Cooks joke."

That picture makes me want to hit somebody. :o

Holmes has been linked to several conspiracy theories but whoever made this diagram might not know Clark Kent is Superman

He needs to face the consequences of his actions instead of running like a coward. There might be a part of him that doesn't want to remember but hopefully he'll crack and show some remorse.

Looks to me like he just gained weight....

Why would the government get another guy to be James Holmes? What is the point of it?

Seriously if the government was behind the shooting (which sounds bogus to me) then wouldn't that mean James was working for them? And wouldn't that mean they'd also use the SAME James during the trials and could have easily change his identity and give him a new life during his "jail sentence". I'm just saying...if there really was some conspiracy theory going on, this wouldnt be it. That is just beyond stupid.
