13 Shows We Want New Versions Of

Burn Notice does not have Miami Viceness to it besides it being in Miami.

Its not a cop show and no Crockett or Tubbs so its not Miami Vice.

Its more like Magnum, PI.

How, exactly? I mean, yeah, Buffy made with the funny a lot, but it also made with the horrible pain and a death quite often.

They were both about superpowered super hot young women kicking ass and beating up bad guys. Buffy was doing it in a nice modern day town. Dark Angel was kicking ass in a futuristic, almost post apocolyptic big city. I think the only reason Dark Angel failed was it was on the same day & time as Buffy who already had an established audience.

DA's"postapocalptic"setting had to be toned down after 9/11 so thatmay be part of its cancelatio besides fox wanting airtime for firefly

I don't think Firefly had anything to do with it. Dark Angel didn't begin until Buffy was into her 2nd or 3rd season. And the only reason I never watched it when it was on TV is because it was on the same day and time as Buffy. And it only lasted 3 seasons, so Buffy still had a few seasons left before it was scheduled to end, and Angel ran for one season longer. And if memory serves, Joss wasn't even going to start production (or at least air) Firefly until both Buffy and Angel ended. Which makes Dark Angels premature cancelation that much more stupid. They would've been better off just giving the show a different date and start time.

Sunnydale was anything but nice. I really don't see how Dark Angel was darker besides having a more outwardly depressing setting. Becoming Parts One and Two, The Body, most of Season Six, all very much downers.

What I meant was, as a character in the show if you were oblivious to the fact that vampires are real and you're living on a Hell Mouth, Sunnydale's a pretty nice place to live. In Dark Angel, the middle class America has pretty much been totally eliminated. There's the Uber Rich and the Uber Poor. There's really no in between. The streets are all covered in filth and graphiti, etc. The stories in Buffy are extremely dark, but they're wrapped up in a bright pretty package. Dark Angel on the other hand, was darkness surrounded by more darkness. Think of Buffy as Dark Chocolate M&Ms while Dark Angel is more like a Hershey's Burnt Almond bar.

I really don't think that makes Dark Angel Darker than Buffy. The crap the characters in Buffy went through was just as terrible if not worse. And I disagree about the assessment of Sunnydale. It was not and never was a nice place to live. Even though the average citizen wasn't aware that vampires and other monsters were to blame, they were all well aware of the high mortality rates and large amounts of criminal activity. The high school newspaper had an obituaries section. They simply attributed it to gang activity, drug use, and suicide, mostly because the town government perpetuated those explanations.

how about a new space ghost series based on the dc graphic novel?

I heard the writers of Fringe are working on a new version of Hawaii Five-O.

I would love to see a new version of Voltron with kind of a BSG upgrade (I know it's a cliche these days, but it'd still be cool). Rework the premise so it makes more sense, deepen the mythology, bring in more overarching storylines. Now whenever I watch the show, I can't help thinking "This would be cool if it made a lick of sense."

For ex, It'd be easy to set up the vehicle force as the Alliance's attempt to make their own new version of the original ancient kick-ass giant robot.

What esle they planning to remake? Charlie's Angles?
lol, they are, I think there's a thread about that on here, the feedback hasn't been good on ABC picking up the series, but I think it could be good
