2000 - 2009: A Look Back

This decade has sucked really, Kartina, 9/11, Tsunami, Earthquakes, Bush, Economic Collapse, Boy bands taking over the world.

:down

Dude, every decade has its share of tragic events and negative results. The 90s weren't exactly ideal either. It's the case of the grass being greener on the other side. I believe everyone just chooses what they wnat to remember from certain time periods thus giving their own biased opinion.

Globally, there has been a lot of bad things in this decade....9/11, war in Afghanistan and Iraq, genocide in Sudan and Darfur, tsunami, Katrina, eight years of George W. Bush....

But personally I graduated high school in 2004, have been in college since 2006, and had my first relationship and the person is still my best friend. For the first time in my life I found myself dating and with friends and a social life.

I also think this decade has seen some great stuff in film....Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Sin City, Spider-Man, Bourne, Master and Commander, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige....a lot of my favorites have just come out in the past ten years. So I can't really agree with some who say quality of filmmaking has gone down, because there has frankly been some brilliant movies in recent years.

Wow, to think I was six years old in 2000 -- time's flown. To be honest, I miss the good old days of my childhood. To think how much I've changed since then. Like many have already said, the decade had its fair share of good and bad.

Actually, I miss the 90s. That was the decade I grew up. The 90s were awesome.

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, green ketchup, Toy Story, Furby's, Digimon... Those were the days.
