2006 Nfl Draft

both Jon Scifres and Claude Wroten have failed drug tests

I didn't think the Texans would have the balls not to select Reggie Bush. Hmph.

Update

RUMOR: Saints agree to terms with Packers to exchange 1st round picks

"No details were given, but it is expected to go through after the first pick of the draft. The Saints don't want to trade down too far from what I was told. It appears that they will be focusing on Hawk or Ferguson. It sounds like a done deal!!! The Texans have broken off talks with Reggie Bush."

Saturday is looking even better.

Things have really turned against that USC backfield. It looks like Bush isn't going to be #1, people are saying Leinart's stock is falling (maybe to #13) and who knows what going on with White.

Whatever. I'm looking forward to this thing. You know they'll be a few surprises.

I see there is a Draft thread already. That moots my thread about Mario Williams, I suppose. But hey, I'll say what I said there: the Texans made the right choice. They needed a good defensive player, not a running back, no matter how good Bush is.

One DE isn't gonna make the Texans a good team. They didn't do anything in Free Agency.

The Texans must not have much of received anything in trade talks for that #1 pick.

The guy they got is pretty good. If they went down they might have missed him. Going first you know you can get who you want.

Williams is definitely a beast. I was thinking that since the Texans need so much help, they would have given consideration to shopping that pick to someone else in say, the top 4 slots. I believe there are a number of players at the top of the board who can help them (Bush, Williams, Ferguson).

They could use a QB too. Carr's had what, 5 years? And what's he got to show for it. Besides some times sacked records.

Carr's a tough call. It's true that he hasn't really produced, but that line has sucked. I'm not fully sure what to make of him. You could put Peyton or Brady back there and they'd be laying on their backs too. I think he's got some talent, but they've got to sure up that line or get a threat in the backfield to slow the rush. That's why I thought Houston would be trying to deal. Mario Williams does absolutely squadoosh for Carr's troubles.

I wish the Pats would take a GOOD young back but I know it wont happen.

Except, you know, swiping Eric Moulds from Buffalo.

Yeah an old washed up reciever who won't get the ball because their QB is always on his back.

They don't even need Reggie Bush, there's no way they should have picked him. Besides, if they were going to draft offense, they should have drafted the Lineman, of which they possess little, not the Running Back, of which they possess nice.

yikes. This guy is seriously killing himself. I wonder if were looking at a new randy moss?
