I'm a HUGE Transfan...and...um...I DO NOT SEE THAT HAPPENING.
I just don't think that's possible. I think TF's will do good, but not beat Spidey 3.

Words marked.
One question...how do you like your words to be cooked?...Because you are going to have to eat them.

Here's how I see the box office going next year.....

1.Spider-Man 3 (estimated atleast $250 mil)
2.Transformers (estimated about $200 mil)
3.FFATSS (estimated $150 mil atleast)
4.Ghost Rider (estimated $100 mil atleast)

I see it going pretty much like that, but I'm probably wrong. But no doubt in my mind that Spidey will be box office king next year. NO DOUBT!!

Answer: Michael Bay. You know, the guy who did "The Island".:)

(snicker, snicker)

I think Transformers will be a really good movie. I have faith it will.

But there is a difference in it being better moneywise or being better qualitywise. Of course Spiderman will make the most money because after Superman and Batman, he's the most well known superhero and has two successful movies to him already. But I think the excess of supervillains in the Spiderman 3 movie will end up hurting it. While I figure the action will be amazing, I think Bay is a master with action and suspense and making it look grand and breathtaking. With a property like Transformers, Bay is right at home. I think it will end up being the better movie of the two, even if the money doesn't show it.

I'm so ready for 2007.
2006 is just a "blah" year. X-3 was disapointing. I was excited for a Superman after all these years but Returns was only just OK. The only redeeming comic movie this year is V for Vendetta which was truly awesome. We still have the other Marvel animated films to go this year, but if Ultimate Avengers is any indication... I'll consider the year done already.
I'm looking forward to Ghost Rider, and I'm about to wet myself for Spider-man 3. Transformers should be fun.
Let's get it on!

Marvel might just overload Hollywood with it's movies and make the public grow tired of superhero films.

Transformers is not a Marvel property. Get your facts straight dudes.

WONDER WOMAN is also scheduled to come out next year.

BTW, mark my words, TRANSFORMERS will do much better than Spiderman 3.

I believe you're looking for the DC Films forum.

V for Vendetta had a lot of controversy to pull in the audience. Just like with the Da Vinci Code. So whether or not the audience likes them it gave them something to think about.

Remember in '03 when we had 3 Marvel films?
DD, X2, and Hulk?
Well, '07 is set to top it!
Ghost Rider
FF2
Spidey 3
and they just announced that 'Wolverine' will be released next year!
4 Marvel films in one year! Plus, there's always the chance that the Punisher sequel could be released by years end (2007) bringing it to 5!!

I kinda doubt that we'll have 5 Marvel films. Its too much.

TF..isn't being produced by Marvel...nor was it created by Marvel. Marvel was simply publishing Transformer books at one time. No longer. So it is as much a Marvel film as you could say Star Wars is.

As for Wolverine..I was never an X-fan but I did like Wolvie very much.
If the movie is based on this...it might be really good.

The following says they amended the release date to 2008. That means now we'll get Wolvie, Iron Man, and Hulk 2 for 2008!

Here is a script review for the Wolverine movie I found on comics2film:

WOLVERINE
By David Benioff Current revision by David Ayer
102 pages, dated 06/01/06

Yo! The net's numero uno script reviewer El Almighty Mayimbe here with yet another huge script frying in my salten (pot for all you non Latino folks). With the summer blockbuster season in full swing and the 4th of July around the corner, we got ourselves the script for a sure to be summer blockbuster film written by David Benioff…WOLVERINE! Yes, the good folks at Latinoreview got ourselves the very kick ass Wolverine script! Yes, that's the verdict…the script kicks ass bub!
Off the bat, yes this is a prequel before the current slate of x-men films and yes this is about Logan and the Weapon X program. I'm just the messenger, so be nice and get over it.
A few things, yesterday was announced that supposedly the film will come out in 2007 then it got corrected that because there is not a director and because of Hugh Jackman's busy schedule we won't see it until 2008.
That's a bummer because in my opinion, the script is ready to go. The structure is there, the beats are there, the plot is there and it works. The script flows well and is very organic.
Now before ya'll ask since this is a prequel, no, unfortunately no Frank Miller samurai stuff but yes we see Logan back in Vietnam through flashback.
Now I still haven't seen X-Men 3, being Latino, I'm waiting for it to come out on bootleg (just kidding)! But seriously, since I hear from fans that it is not all that, I'll get to it before they pull it from the theaters but Wolverine for sure will put the steam in the mutant movie genre.
As a comic book origin movie, WOLVERINE is one of the better ones. It's not corny.
As a treat for comic book fans, because I know I am going to get asked this, what mutants or who else is in this you might ask?
  • Logan's buddy from back in his military days JOHN WRAITH.
  • FRED J. DUKES a.k.a. THE BLOB
  • BARBARUS a brutally muscled mutant with four arms, all sleeved in tattoos.
What else? The whole Weapon X experiment has a much larger role in this script and in Stryker's overall plan, we get to see Logan in berserker mode, the origin of his name, the eventual rematch with Creed, and of course his eventual memory loss which is handled here and quite nicely I might add.
Even though some fans prefer to see the whole weapon x thing resolved in the x-men films, I disagree, I think it should be handled in his own stand alone film ever since I saw the flashbacks and hints of Wolverine's origins in the films. You can see since the x-men films that they were already setting up this current screenplay. I was salivating at the thought of a Weapon X film. Even though this is a prequel film, it is possible there could be more than one Wolverine film, perhaps his own trilogy. This one stands well on its own and leaves it open for sequels. My biggest treat so far in scripts this year has been reading the Transformers and now Wolverine. David Benioff is a very good writer and he did his homework and earned his paycheck. He found a way to balance and make the comic and movie counterparts tie in together in an organic way. I'm sure the lot of you won't be disappointed. As long as the script is there and it's on the page (which it is), the studio has a blueprint to make a successful film, whether 2007 or 2008. So don't worry it won't be rushed. A top notch writer delivered the goods. So here is hoping that we see this in 2007, everyone have a happy 4th of July, I'm off to detonate blockbusters and bottle rockets, and stick to us Latin boys here at Latinoreview to keep bringing you the 1st looks at the hottest screenplays for the hottest upcoming potential blockbusters. As the song goes from the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, nobody does it better.
ABSOLUTAMENTE NADIE COÑO!
UPDATE: 07/03/06 El Mayimbe here…
At the request of the legal goons at FOX, we have to take down the review, but there are ways around everything so unfortunately I can't take a look at act 1 like we normally do because such goons said we are infringing upon their property. So instead I can give you the scoop and story details in this quick recap from the 1st act of the script in a way, which does NOT infringe upon FOX's legal property.
  • The opening scene of the movie is a dream sequence where we see Logan as an undersized feral 12 yr old kid get picked on by football players. We then proceed to watch Logan get even and see his bone claws.
  • Logan awakens and we meet Kayla Silverfox, his 25 yr old innu girlfriend.
  • The inciting incident of the script if the murder of a mutant at the hands of Victor Creed who we know will become Sabretooth.
  • Afterwards, the call to adventure scene and the refusal of the call, Styrker (the Brian Cox character from the x-men films) and Agent Zero visit Logan at his log cabin and want him back. Logan prefers his 18,500 yearly job as a lumberjack. Styrker warns Logan that mutants are being killed and that they have name and addresses.
  • Logan picks up Kayla at her job. She is a 4th grade schoolteacher. He tells her that Colonel Stryker wants him back and that he refused. They go back to their cabin and have a moonlit romantic evening where Kayla goes into this innu myth exposition about the Wolverine animal. Victor Creed meanwhile watches outside.
  • The next day after Kayla drops off Logan at his job at the logging camp, she gets attacked and killed by Victor Creed on a narrow access road. Logan arrives too late to help her.
  • We next cut to the local dive bar, Casady's Bar & Grill where Victor Creed is enjoying his George Dickel Tennessee whiskey. He asks the owner if he has insurance on the place because it is about to get ugly. Logan walks into the tavern, sniffing the air. He sees Creed sitting there on the barstool and then all hell breaks loose. Creed and Logan brawl for the next 3 pages and Creed beats the **** out of Logan, the beating is so bad that Logan's healing factor cannot keep up with the violence done to his body by Creed. Creed crushes Logan's bone claws and leaves him for dead.
  • Logan is brought in to the local ER. His healing factor saved his life and worked its magic before the doctors attend to Logan. Stryker is there. Logan wants to know where Creed is to obviously get even. Stryker tells Logan that he can help Logan find Creed. Creed escaped from an ultramax penitentiary in Nevada last year and that he started murdering mutants. Stryker tells Logan that Creed has the list, the list of every known mutant in North America. Government has been keeping it for years. The names, addresses, everything. Logan asks how did Creed get the list? Stryker informs Logan that someone must have leaked it to him. There are people in Washington who want to see all the mutants destroyed. Logan tells Stryker that his plan is to find Creed and end him. Stryker tells Logan that he can't beat Creed the way Logan is now. Not unless Stryker gives Logan tools. Stryker tells Logan that if he comes with him, Logan will suffer more pain than any other man could bear and that Logan will have his revenge.
  • Logan is next brought to Alkali Lake where a black helicopter lands on a concrete helipad inside the walls of a massive compound.
  • Next in a surgical prep room, Logan lies naked on his back on an examining table. We meet a red-bearded scientist Dr. Cornelius and an Army surgeon Carol Hines. They are going to make Logan indestructible. Stryker leaves and Hines catches up to him in the corridor. Hines is concerned that Logan might not survive the experiment. It's no secret to comic book and movie fans that the experiment is obviously the Adamantium bonding process to Logan's bones.
  • We cut to a surgical theater where Hines and two medical technicians accompany Logan to a water filled plexiglass tank the size of a lidless coffin. An array of stainless steel machines surround the tank, including a series of robotic arms that taper into foot-long needles. One wall of the theater is glass. Behind the glass is the control room, where Stryker and General Munson look on. One of the technicians fastens a breathing tube, connected to an oxygen tank, to Logan's mouth. Logan lies down and submerges himself in the cold water. The technician clamps Logan's wrists and ankles into place. Logan lies underwater, watching as the robotic arms descend toward him as the needles rotate. Logan closes his eyes as the needles enter his body. Logan writhes in the tank. Twelve long needles have drilled into his bones, including his skull commencing the feed at a rate of twenty nine cc's per second. Ouch.
  • In the control room, Stryker addresses the general. The general is witnessing medical history in the making as they begun bonding adamantium to Weapon X's skeleton. General Munson tried to use that stuff for tank armor but it is too damn expensive. It took 3 years to prepare enough alloy for the skeleton. The General says that if the experiment works, Weapon X won't be walking through any metal detectors. Stryker's response is that if the experiment works, Weapon X will walk wherever he wants and with that said we reach the end of the 1st act and our sneak preview.
Hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend…Happy 4th of July folks!!!
Until the next episode…
