Hines Ward isnt half the wide reciever Plax is. He is nearly as big of a red zone or down field threat. Teams dont gameplan around Hines Ward, but they do Buress. Ward bennefits much more from Ben right now than vice versa.

How do you guys think defenses gameplan around an offense? Its all about matchups. Numbers are irrelevant, its whose easier contain. Burress is 6'5 to Ward's 6'0. Right now he is the faster of the 2, it was probably even 3-4 years ago. Ward has better hands, but Burress can make more catches.

Burress is 5x harder to match up against than Ward, that is why even if he has worse numbers (which isnt even the case), hell still help out his #2 more because he demands more attention.

Ward's best year came when Benjamin was playing in Ohio, but thats beside the point. Hines Ward's production is comparable to Plaxico Burress. Burress is a more explosive wide out, but he has also been inconsistent.

I dont wont deny that, the thing is the explosive wide reciever always presents a much bigger challenge than the consistent one.

I think you overrate Burress. Plaxico Burress has never been a top 5 WR in the league and Ben's receiving corps has ALWAYS been better than Eli's top to bottom.

I dont think Burress is anything special, I just know Ben missed him enough to publically complain about wanting a reciever like him again. I think that speaks for itself.

No, Ill give Eli that, he had 2 decent drives including one when it counted. But the defense won that game because they held the greatest offense ever to 14 points.
