then what the NCAA should do is vacate the bowl for Ohio State and do what they did to USC this season....no BCS bowl game next season

What you think a 5 game suspension in not harsh enough for selling your own stuff hmmmm...

Not harsh enough, since Pryor was still able to play in the bowl game (which is what really matters), and if he really declare for NFL then there goes that suspension anyway.

lol harsh dude really for selling their on stuff come on...

How about taking away their scholarships? Hey, Reggie took some money and USC not only is forced to miss 2 bowl games but also have about 30 scholarships taken away; don't tell me that Ohio State's punishment is that weak suspension for next season's games.

it's against NCAA rules, you break the rules, you should get punished
sure but 5 games.....they didnt shoot anyone, sell drugs, beat-up thier girlfriends....2-3 games at most. I bet if this was anybody else other than OSU ppl would think 5 games is harsh.

I cant believe you are comparing what Reggie did with some freshmen selling their own stuff...dude it is sour grapes for you...give me a break.

Btw, if Cam Newton ultimately found guilty of his father's backroom deals for his enrollment, I wonder what NCAA will do? They better be consistent with their new fondness for ridiculous punishments.

I'm still pissed about SMU......yes, I hold a grudge for a looooooooooooooooong time.

They'll do the same as they did to Reggie Bush.

Newton is projected as a first round pick. I think he has failure as an NFL QB written all over him.

Best quote I've seen from the Michigan blogosphere (mgoblog.com) regarding the hiring of Brady Hoke:

"With the dual boosts of a pliant media and cooperative network of former players plus a program that should find itself on an upward trajectory instead of a downward one, everything's set up for him to look like the white knight who "saved" the program and ride that to something approximating success. Michigan's just thrown in the towel on being a national power but this could be Nebraska after Callahan instead of Notre Dame after Davie."

Brady Hoke was #3 or maybe even #4 on the list of candidates for the job

He's probably going to get a lot more leeway than RichRod got...but there are 2 things they expect you to do when you coach for the Wolverines

1. Win the conference

2. Beat Ohio State

not in that order

Brady Hoke has a losing record at San Diego State, but Michigan is probably thinking "he can be our Gene Chizik." Remember, Chizik had a losing record at Iowa State and now has a National championship with Auburn and is a few wins above .500.

so UConns biggest donor is pulling out of the football program

he's requesting a return of $3 million dollars and his name removed off the athletic complex his money built

I know this is supposed to be about schools and student atheletes and all that...but donors/boosters make a lot of these programs go

Deadspin has the story

yea...I don't like it, but that's the way the world of college football is, you can't compete if you don't have the $$$$ to recruit, build stuff, and give scholarships
