Nobody want the Texas job....just using them to renegotiate bigger contracts

Ok, so starting next year the Championship game is outside the bowls.

6 bowls are the big bowls with the committee placing schools in them. Rose, Orange, Sugar, and Fiesta like before. With the Cotton and Peach joining them. Two of these bowls will host the semi-finals over a 3 year rotating schedule.

The fact they are using 6 bowls makes it seem likely to me that eventually these bowls will be used as 2 semi-finals and 4 quarterfinals in an 8 team playoff.

I would agree that it provides an easy set up for the playoffs to expand which I would be all for, but it also probably has to do with money too. The Rose, Fiesta, Orange, and Sugar bowl were big money games in BCS for whatever schools got the invite. With no BCS, they had to make a way to legitimatize these games still to generate interest, similar to how the BCS needs people to watch the non championship game, they need to make sure these bowls stay relevant when they DONT host the playoff

I think Strong will be a decent coach for them though, but Im not all that surprised that not many people are willing to take it.

1. Lots of pressure to win and win now
2. Following a well respected and loved coach that you will have a hard time meting the standards of in the fans eyes
3. I think most overlooked in Big 12 is no longer the same level as it once was. The conference no longer has a championship game, a quarter of the schools two years ago couldnt wait to bail for a "better" conference, and a lot less respect by media. Big 12 is probably the most fun to watch if your an offense fan, but it has lost ALOT of prestige.

Another team getting SEC'd? Well, duh. All the numbers and indexes mean nothing. Auburn has been forged through tough game after tough game. They are use to defenses that don't let you breath, and breaking down teams with similar or even better athletes. Their offense is just to funky. Florida State hasn't seen anything like them this season.

I know it is still early, but this is what I expected.

Can't wait to turn on the radio tomorrow. Everyone's been on FSU's jock around here (Jacksonville, not this forum) saying Auburn basically has no chance.

Same here, and again while it is early, I never understood the idea that FSU was going to crush. Made no sense. There was always more of a chance that Auburn went off.

They, like everyone else, can't figure out how to stop Auburn's run game.

It's dead as hell over here in the Hype

It is amazing when players just suddenly forget how to tackle.

That is the worst penalty you could commit. Oh. My. Goodness.

Totally unnecessary too. It would have been incomplete.
Yep.

It was a good comeback, but it was almost like each team suffered under the pressure of being the favorite. FSU in the first half, Auburn in the second.

Funny to think that the BCS ends with the SEC finally being conquered. Congrats to FSU.

Auburn might as well have hired ushers to escort State to the end zone on that last drive. Jeez.

I hate Auburn. So, I am glad the Seminoles won

Brent Musberger called Nick Marshall a "wonderful story". Now that is funny!

Great game. The Noles were really gettin beat for the first 3 quarters. Seemed like they couldnt get anywhere. But I'm glad they came back and won. Exciting til the end

It's not like she doesn't have a point though.

Yeah, I don't really get why the media is calling her racist. I have heard Jameis Winston speak. He has some of the worst grammar I have ever heard. Is our society so hyper-sensitive that calling out someone with terrible grammar for their terrible grammar is instantly deemed racist and requires an apology?

I can see why some would call her comment racist...it was very condescending, sarcastic, implying, and certainly very unnecessary. However, there seems to be a cycle in the African American community, of either not being taught proper English structure, willingness t learn, or a combination of both. Hip-Hop doesn't help, like it or not, we all know it's true.
