No, Schwartz lacks Fisher's maturity and discipline. Their philosophy may be the same but similarities stop there.

As for Cowher, he won his division in 10 of those 16 seasons and made playoffs in 14 of them without a franchise quarterback in a time when the game demanded one. That says something.

So we shall see how good they are next year. I expect yet another decline. I've been right so far. :oldrazz:

Don't buy the tougher schedule argument, as they're record determines all of TWO of your 16 games each season. No matter they finish this season they play 6 Division games, 4 against the AFC South, and 4 against the NFC West next year. All their better record (likely 2nd place) will figure out is who they play from the NFC East and NFC South. Likely Dallas/Giants and Atlanta. (2 of whom they played this year)

Interesting for the remainder of the teams out there, an AFC team is going to have to probably have a 11-5 record whereas a NFC team is going to have to have at least a 10-6 so the Giants vs. Jets on Christmas Eve may be very interesting if they are both going in at 8-6 and 9-5 respectively.

yeah, this week was basically a wash for the 5th and 6th playoff seeds in the NFC as Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, and the Giants all lost.

The Lions really need to work on discipline with their players. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many mental mistakes and stupid penalties in a game that were easily avoidable.

Yeah, it's obviously not just Suh who is being out of control. They got over 100 yards in penalties...that is TERRIBLE. Most of them were OFFENSIVE pass interference penalties and personal fouls. Like Pettigrew slapping the refs hand away like a moron. Then, they got lucky, and the Saints roughed the passer but it was still too little too late.

I still can't believe that the Niners already clinched the playoffs, guess that was thanks to almost every other NFC team losing except the Packers and the Saints. :oldrazz:

The NFC wildcards are just up for grabs at this point.

It really isn't that much of a surprise about the Niners since the NFC West is so bad. But I do find it funny that despite being labeled as the "worst" division in the NFL, 3 of 4 NFCW teams have beaten teams in the NFC East this year, which used to carry the label of the "Toughest Division in the NFL" year after year.

In the NFC i think a 9-7 team can make the playoffs

So what is everyone expecting Seymour's punishment to be? Second time in as many years that he was ejected from a game for punching another player. Gotta think it'll be at least a game.

Well we clinched our division. Which is always the easiest way to get into the playoffs. I'd say it's thanks to the NFC West (except us of course) losing the majority of their games throughout the season.

Well regarding us, I think we were 8-1 before playing just our second divisional game this season. The bulk of our division games is coming up in this final month. Before yesterday's shutout against the Rams we had only played the Seahawks and Cardinals just one time.

Yeah, I'm not trying to take anything away from the Niners there... just pointing out that it's pretty much been a foregone conclusion that they'd win the division for weeks now. It will be interesting to see how they do in the playoffs.

Don't look now...

But he might be coming back. :awesome:

Listen. I've been a hardcore Packers fan since '93. The reason I first became a fan was because of this guy, and the way he was freewheeling out there (and to a smaller extent how Holmgren would be beside himself because of it :woot:)

But there's no way Chicago should even consider it. He's become a circus unto himself, and it's high time the tent stays folded

Not. gonna. happen.

Favre's never played in anything close to Martz's offense and by the time he learned enough of it, the season would be over.

This is the lamest "scoop" from ESPN we've seen yet.

Yeah, it is pretty weak. But this is what ESPN and NFL do best. They make stories where there aren't any, particularly when it comes to the Ol' Gunslinger.

I agree with Matt about Schwartz. This team is VERY undisciplined, and it has gotten worse in big games. Major problem. Lions have to address this.

Rowsdower, I want a new addition of "THIS GUY" tonight. Make it happen .

I don't like Favre rumors either, but the reason why they have them is because other forums like the Hype will start discussing it, even if it is used to bash ESPN and NFL Network's coverage of it.

Farve is corting the Bears, because in his mind, he feel he's the only one that can stop Aaron Rodgers & the Green Bay Packers from achieving the Perfect Season and bolting Aaron over Brett as the most Favorite and most Beloved Packer.......and that can't happen. Selfish Bastard.
