My distributor services quite a few bars and restaurants in the Pittsburgh area, apparently he is a total *****e bag. He hasn't really made many waves since the rape allegations when his publicist (Rodger Goodell) told him to knock it the **** off, but before that....the stories you would hear are terrible. He would demand that restaurants close off entire sections just because he was in them (at one table, mind you). Doesn't tip waiters and waitresses. Is very rude to any other customer who tries to approach him (including children). He is apparently a grade-A d-bag.

I've also heard the same things about him. Jeff Reed was a huge D-bag as well and he got sent away because he was such a jerk. Ben is at least a good quarterback. When he starts playing bad all that special treatment and love from the fans will fade quickly. Heh.

Steelers got a big win tonight thanks to the play of the defense. Just some REALLY bad play calling by the coaches and Steelers killed themselves a few times with penalties and the turnovers in the red zone.

Ever since the second rape allegation, his publicist really reigned him in. The only time you hear about him being out in public is for charity golf events and the likes. He is "married," (I use quotations because it is clearly a sham marriage) and settled down.

I say that the really bad coaching that made that game a roller coaster needs to be addressed first.

And strong veteran players coughing up the ball in the red zone. Steelers should have had, at least, another touchdown in there. It's lucky they were playing the Browns and not the Ravens, Patriots, or..heck..any OTHER team in the NFL. Because many teams would have capitalized on those turnovers.

He really is. He is a good...if not great football player. But he is easily right up there with Michael Vick and Ray Lewis as one of the worst human beings in the National Football League.

Yeah, the turnovers early on in the game made me want to smash my TV, and then seeing Ben get hurt was like a punch to the gut. Still, gotta give him credit for coming back and busting his ass to win that game. Say what you want about him personally, but the guy is made of steel during the game.

Big win for the D as well. The Harrison late hit was boneheaded and dickish on his part but other than that, the D was awesome.

And Antonio Brown. All I can say is that kid is a beast and he's a boon to both the Steelers and my fantasy team.

I don't think he will ever be good enough to carry the team on a deep playoff run or anything like that. Plus, if you take Frank Gore out of the picture and put the offense on Smith's shoulders...I could see a massive collapse.

I think it is easy to get lost in the excitement right now, but if San Fran has a shot at something better, they have to take it. Objectively look at Smith's stats this year. All that he has shown is that he would be a tremendous backup.

Just because Alex doesn't have video game numbers doesn't mean he's regulated to a being a tremendous backup quarterback. Steve McNair and Troy Aikman's stats were usually not that great...even for the era they played in, but they were both two of the better starters in the league during their prime.

It's Alex's first year in the system under yet another new coordinator and head coach. That is with the NFL lockout that took place. These things take time. And it's taken more time for most of our players on offense because they've had to start over every single season. Most of the good quarterbacks in the NFL have had stability in a system for a number of years.

And Frank Gore has been out of the picture a few times this season. Most notably against the Giants when he had six carries for zero yards. Smith passed all over the Giants and had a good game.

Just saw the video of that hit James Harrison put on Colt McCoy. WOW!! This guy really needs to be fined! That was the most blatant helmet to helmet hit I've ever seen. Seems pretty obvious that he was trying to hurt McCoy. You can even see Harrison makes his lunge AFTER the ball is thrown. I say a couple game suspension is in order. Especially since he has done this sort of thing before.

If you know the Bears organization, you know they have a history of doing this & it's worked fairly well for them for years. So yes, it's a proven formula for them that's worked for them financially.

What you're arguing is morals & there's no argument there, it's as cruddy as it gets. He has earned his money 10 times over & he's well known as a high character guy, I've already said he shouldn't rush himself to get back & play for a franchise that decided not to pay him.

Worked well? The Bears have made one Super Bowl in the Free Agency Era.

Morality and Business Practice are not separate matters. Good morals is good business practice.
