Well...Ben fumbles this game is over. Talk about freakin' blowing a great chance. :whatever:

I love Antonio Brown, but he really needs to learn when to take the touchback.

Also, have I mentioned how bad the Steelers coaching is tonight?

Woot! 49ers up 20-3!!!

The way that San Fran's running game and defense have been playing, this game should be 35-3. You guys are going to be dangerous as hell when you get a real quarterback under center.

You have but I'd like to put in an official plea to Bill Cowher to return to this team and show Tomlin how to coach these guys.

And to think, people criticized the 49ers' management when they concentrated on drafting and building around their defense.

Meh, when we score 20 plus points, were unstoppable!

Are they seriously going to leave Ben in the game? The Niners defense is eating him alive...even when he THROWS the ball they are knocking him down. Just put in Batch and rest Ben up so that the Steelers can focus on the playoffs and improving their freakin' decision making.

Maybe tonight...but not against teams like the Packers or the Saints who the Niners will probably have to go through to get to the Super Bowl.

I'm starting to suspect that The Steelers didn't blow this, the 49ers' D is just that good.

Their D is good...but the Steelers coaches had a horrible game plan in this game. The two combined killed them. Another INT by Ben. Perfect ending to this massacre.

True but the Niners' D neutralized the Steeler's offense with superb tackling and impressive pass rushing. I believe the playcalling wouldn't have made a substantial difference.

 Seconded.

Third pick. Roethlisberger has thrown 42 attempts already. He is going to end up hitting 50 (compared to 31 from Alex Smith). An injured quarterback should not be throwing 50 times. An injured quarterback shouldn't be given the option to play. Tomlin should be ashamed to show his face at the post-game press conference. Bruce Arians should be fired tomorrow. It won't happen because Tomlin lacks stones, but it certainly should.

And that punt return illustrates the night The Steelers are having...

It would have, in my opinion. They passed most of the game with a quarterback that had a high ankle sprain. They needed to run the ball and when they were running the ball they were having success.

However, the Niners D did come in playing with fire and heart. That's the difference. They came in wanting to win and they did. The Steelers seemed to just come in there with their shoulders shrugged saying, "Hey, whatever..."

Trust me...Tomlin is NOT that great of a coach. He inherited a great team that Bill Cowher built for years.

The Saints are a different team on the road, and we should win the last two against the Seahawks and rams which would give us homecourt...All season long our defense has kept us in games! Our biggest lost this season was only 10pt and only allowing 16 against the Ravens! I'm firm believer that defense wins championships! Yes this 49ers is not the team of the past With Joe and Steve! This is more like Ravens Teams that won in the early 2000s...if its done before recently why not now?

Yep. Beyond that, as Gruden pointed out, Ben is not a pocket passer. He needs to be able to move and scramble. He is not Peyton Manning and he is required to play like Peyton due to his sprain. The sprain, while not debilitating, did make it so he cannot play football the way he needs to play. That is huge. Tomlin as head coach should have said, "No. Charlie is the better pocket passer and if you can't move and do what makes you great as a quarterback, Charlie is starting."

I think on that muffed snap Ben was thinking about raping Alex Smith after the game. :oldrazz:

Congrats to the Niners...maybe the Steelers will meet them again in the Super Bowl...but if they play like they did tonight the rest of the season and have the coaching they have had this game...there is no way the Steelers will see past the Wild Card game.

Agreed, but the Niners' D, from what I've seen (in the four games broadcasted in my area), tend to be dominating in the second half. Some teams have found great success in running the ball early but passing the mid-way point of the second quarter, the Niners' D clamps down hard. So it's hard to say.

Definitely, Tomlin doesn't dazzle me as a head coach. He should be replaced.
