I've not been watching football long enough to really give any opinion on the Bengals side Mt. Rushmore... but the comments are pretty shocking for me. Was Chad Johnson really that good in his early years? I only started watching football in the game where Palmer's leg was taken out, and Chad was only fairly mediocre from that point on. I was shocked to see him on there and shocked to see people mentioning his stats and backing him up. I mean, I liked the guy, but I just assumed he was always a joke made famous by his antics.

I think if Coughlin wins another Super Bowl, he could surpass Parcells on the Giants Mount Rushmore. There numbers are very similar. With Parcells having a slightly higher winning percentage, but equal playoff appearances and Super Bowl wins.

Obviously Taylor is slam dunk.

Just know Huff from reputation. Although, I think younger fans would choose Strahan. Maybe slightly older fans would choose Carson.

And you just kind of half to put Eli in there.

Was surprised by Matt Ryan for the Falcons, Joe Flacco for the Ravens and Sean Payton for the Saints.

Chad Johnson, the player, as been overshadowed by his antics, but he was still THE shining star of the Bengals for a bit. In those first 5 or 6 years, he was arguably the best receiver in the league.

Flacco needs another deep playoff run but I guess I can understand. I forget that the Ravens were an expansion team.

Peyton doesn't suprise me as the man brought the town a SB in a time when it needed it the most. He represents that victory almost as much as anyone on that team.

Mr. Bounty. Without his bounty system, the Vikings beat them in the NFC Championship and win the Super Bowl.

(At least that's how it happens in my dreams :csad:)

Eh, not true at all.

Must've missed the bottom part of my post indicating the obvious sarcasm, huh? :cwink:

Having said that, a huge reason they did so well that year was the aggressive culture he established, which yes, did involve offering bounties.

Everyone did a bounty system, they are just the first to get caught.

Shame. Wish I'd have watched back then.

I can't stand that. You know Katrina.

While I feel for the community and what they suffered, that doesn't entitle them to a win and I disliked what the networks did to almost make people feel bad for cheering for the Colts.

I don't think NY/NJ teams should win because of Sandy/Irene last year.

When the Steelers promptly whooped the Giants' ass the week after Sandy, I remember a part of me feeling weird about it.

Is it really a "whooping" if you only win by 4 points?

Well, when you consider that the officials were BLATANTLY trying to hand the Giants that game, I think it could be considered something of a whooping. At least one of New York's touchdowns was complete bullsh**.

I was actually at that game. From my standpoint it didn't seem like it. But, there are always going to be questionable calls but I just find the irony of an official handing a game to a team in terms of the Steelers funny considering Super Bowl XL.

I've watched a lot of football and I typically don't complain about the calls unless they are blatant. The Steelers have benefited from their share of bad calls, but so have teams playing against them (any game against the Raiders immediately leaps to mind).

In the case of the that Super Bowl, there might have been some bad calls but it doesn't change the fact that the Seahawks' offense played like sh** in that game. The Steelers weren't at the top of their game either (Ben was particularly awful), but in the end, even if some calls had gone the other way, the game likely would have ended 21-14 instead of 21-10.

I need to go through all of those Mt. Rushmores, some are pretty cool.

Sayers should be replaced by Ditka in the Bears.

Yeah but you never really have a former NFL referee state that he effected the outcome of the game.

Super Bowl XL head official admits to blown calls

“I kicked two calls in the fourth quarter and I impacted the game and as an official you never want to do that. It left me with a lot of sleepless nights and I think about it constantly. I’ll go to my grave wishing that I’d been better.”
Only 2 calls if you don't count, the pass interference call against Jackson where they had to settle for 4 and one could argue that Roethlisberger didn't get that touchdown on the goal line during the 1st half.

I actually was rooting for the Steelers in that game. It's funny how things change when you start detesting their QB.

I just realized there sure are a lot of guys named Matt, in the NFL.

Sign ups for the Pick 'em will begin in the next few days. Prepare for pain.

Ryan, Schaub, Flynn, Cassel, Hasselback?

Prater, Stafford, Bryant, Austin, Barkley, Elam, Forte, Bosher, several others and of course the most important Matt....Moore.
