I think there's gonna be a surprise team that comes out of the NFC this year.

Me too, but there are limits on that. Obviously the Cards or the Panthers aren't going to make a Super Bowl run. I think there will be an upset, but within reason. That's why the Falcons are my pick. I think that they will be this year's Ravens. As for the Packers....I just never write them off and a lot of people are doing just that in light of the NFC West.

I could also see the Giants and Saints making a run. The Saints, I think a lot of people are writing off, but I think we're gonna see just how valuable Sean Peyton is to this team.

The Giants are usually a hit or miss team, but if they make the playoffs, I can easily see them make another run for the Super Bowl. The Saints are the team I like this year. I think the whole BountyGate is gonna act as motivation for Brees/Peyton. Could you imagine Goodell handing the Lambardi Trophy over to Peyton after everything that's happened? :funny:

One of my other dark horse teams is the Bears. I've always loved Lovie Smith, but I think he was one of the main problems in Chicago.

I agree that Lovie was one of the problems, but only because he enabled Cutler's diva behavior rather than reigning it in. I think that the Bears will live or die based on how Trestman handles Cutler. If he pampers him, the Bears will continue to underperform. If he isn't afraid to show Cutler who is in charge and even bench him if he acts out, then the Bears could be dangerous. My concern though, is that Cutler is just too old to really change, so even if Trestman handles it perfectly, it may not make a difference. I really think the Bears have to think long and hard about their long term future. Cutler is getting very close to becoming the new Tony Romo, IMO.

Isn't this Cutler's last year? So he's playing for a contract?

I think the concept of playing for a contract is overrated when it comes to a quarterback. The position is too high in demand. Cutler will get a kick ass contract no matter what. If the Bears don't give him one, he will find another team who will and will start a bidding war. QBs are at a premium. Cutler's agent knows that.

Niners will make the playoffs, I don't think they'll repeat. I don't expect the Seahawks to make the Super Bowl either. I think the NFC West is going to be a victim of its own hype and underperform. I think either the Falcons or Packers will make the Super Bowl.

Good choices. I'd like to see Falcons or Packers make a deep run. Either way, it's safe to assume that the NFC playoffs will be off the chain. Unlike the AFC playoffs, where it's literally been the same 3 teams dominating since 2005 with the exception of last season.

I'd love to see the Redskins pull it together and have a deep run. I'd like to see Cam in there too.

The Saints are going to be fun to watch. If Payton back, they'll be back with a vengeance. They are in my top 5 for teams I legitimately root for.

I see the Bears in kind of the same position as the Cowboys were last year.

They are not going to finish low area to be able to get Bridgewater in the draft. So who else are they going to go to? Think Cutler will give them the "best" chance and he will get a big contract from them.

I do agree that Cutler can be seen in the same category as Romo, Rivers. And to be honest, Matt Ryan is getting close to that category too.

Actually, Matt Ryan shouldn't really have an excuse this year.

I'm calling it right now.

Super Bowl: XLVIII: Lions/Browns

"The Curse Bowl"

:hehe:

I would love that. I spent the last 10 years really pulling for a team.

It'd be nice not to care.

The Falcons or the Saints will make the super bowl if this trend continues

2006 - Super Bowl XLI - Chicago Bears, NFC North
2007 - Super Bowl XLII - New York Giants, NFC East
2008 - Super Bowl XLIII - Arizona Cardinals, NFC West
2009 - Super Bowl XLIV - New Orleans Saints, NFC South
2010 - Super Bowl XLV - Green Bay Packers, NFC North
2011 - Super Bowl XLVI - New York Giants, NFC East
2012 - Super Bowl XLVII - San Francisco 49ers, NFC West
2013 - Super Bowl XLVIII - ?

From 2006, the NFC Champions have come from the North, East, West, then South divisions. Then again, North, East, West

Odd pattern, I have Falcons vs Saints in NFC championship game this year with Broncos vs Texans in AFC Championship

I want to see a pats v falcons Superbowl. I also think that if the rams make it to the playoffs anything can happen.

Dude, how many teams are you a fan of? Shades of Silver Knight..

I don't like the Falcons at all but I think they're the second best team in the NFC behind Seattle. I don't like all the injuries San Fran has and while Green Bay and New Orleans are certainly both a force to be reckoned with, I don't see them having enough defense to get past the 3 teams I just mentioned. The NFC east is the Skins division to lose and I think the Giants are the only legitimate threat to them.

So if I had to rank them right now I'd go

#1 - Seattle
#2 - Atlanta
#3 - San Fran
#4 - Green Bay
#5 - New Orleans
#6 - Redskins
#7 - Giants

Both 4/5 and 6/7 are basically interchangeable. I'm not too sure what to expect out of teams like Chicago and Minnesota this year.

I think I dislike most teams usually fan related than teams I'd be actually happy they won.

SuperBowl:

Niners vs Patriots

Seahawks is not there, yet.
Packers, weak O-Line, A.Rodgers will have problems again because of it.
Falcons... may have a shot, maybe.

Other than the Patriots:
Broncos, Texans, Steelers, even the Colts may give the Patriot a run.

We'll see...Can't wait for the season to start!!!

And even then, the Ravens have been in how many AFC Championships the past few years?

I sure hope so.

I only worry about the Niners is that no team has gone on to win the Super Bowl the season after losing it since like 1973. And that was the one and only time it's ever been done. I think history is against my 49ers.

You guys. I don't get some of your predictions.

Jerry Jones recently said that the Cowboys are winning this year.

Wow did not know that. So that'll make things more interesting!

Totally agree. The perceived pressure on Cutler because of the contract situation is overrated. The Bears will probably give him a contract rather than start from scratch again (they have no one they're developing) or they'll slap the tag on him to buy themselves a year. Worst case is they let him walk and another team will throw cash at him. Basically, he's not really playing for a contract.
