2013/2014 NFL Thread: Where Hawks Fly - Part 8

Out of all the years I've been a Panthers fan, nothing is hurting worse than watching Steve Smith go to another team. Hes been with us through so much. I always thought he would retire with the Panthers or he'd be the one to leave to the team.I just hope Gettleman decides to get rid of Olsen. Hes slowly become one of my favorite players on Panthers.

Olsen could theoretically be next but I don't see it happening... unless we draft Ebron, Seferian-Jenkins or Lyerla.

You'll either laugh or cry but I found this a tad humorous.

Holy poo, The Panthers didn't even offer Nicks a contract? I'm starting to believe Gettleman is seeking to rebuild in 2014 cuz we're not making a move on anyone. No secondary, no receiving core, and no replacement for Gross at LT is yet to be signed.

Hakeem Nicks stinks. You should be grateful.

Word is Goodell is going to come down on him. He's right, it sets a bad example for players that do it.

Brandon Weeden is now a Cowboy.

Weeden will be a Cowboy until August.

:o

Watch Carolina crumble like Atlanta did last season without Steve Smith's leadership.

I think Cam and Kuechly are ready to take over the reigns. The difference between us and Atlanta is that we didn't neglect our trenches for years.

This may have been mentioned before, but I realized that out of 31 NFL stadiums, only 6 don't have gaudy corporate names slapped on em.

Ralph Wilson Stadium
Lambeau Field
Georgia Dome
Paul Brown Stadium
Arrowhead Stadium
Soldier Field

Nuts.

Isn't Atlanta getting one so that will change soon right?

I'm all about being outside, but I think they're aiming for retractable roof, last I heard.

They may want to aim pretty hard because it will be a while before we see another cold weather Super Bowl IMO.

The Giants also just signed another Bronco - WR/KR Trindon Holliday. They are also looking at bringing back Mario Manningham, a move I would love to see.

2019 is the next bidding for a Super Bowl. I expect Washington and Chicago to make a bid.

Stories about rich NFL players/coaches/owners getting busted for stuff like this baffle me. You would think they would be smart enough to get a DD. All they have to do is pay someone a little bit of money(which we know they have) to drive them around.

Word on Colts blogs is that some in the organization recognized Irsay's problem and tried to get him to hire a driver. Which obviously didn't happen.

Addiction is a mean MF, but I'm not surprised by this. Irsay is pretty erratic on the best of days, and it seems like he's been spiraling as of late--if he ever completely stopped with the drugging and boozing in the first place.

Stadiums have had corporate sponsorships since Wrigley Field was built. I don't know why this bothers people?

Because most of them are sponsored by banks/financial institutions that are notoriously evil bloodsuckers. :oldrazz:
