Although when/if it that happens, I can almost assure you it's not going to be MLB, who has an almost as bad economic system and myriad other issues that football doesn't, knocking it from it's perch.

I can't see the NBA and definitely not the NHL becoming the #1.

The play in game on the first week is a terrible idea. That would mean that the #1 and #2 seeds would have 3 weeks off.

I still think there would be scheduling issues for having games in L.A and London.

The NFL announced today that it will ban goalpost dunks following a touchdown. It is now considered "excessive celebration" and will be penalized.

The No Fun League continues.

That rule is now in place because 1) Jimmy Graham bent the goalpost last year, causing a delay and 2) the guy who was really popular in doing it is retired and working as a CBS analyst.

Same thing with Shaq in the NBA. He hung on backboards on 2 different occasions causing 35-45 min delays to the game to have it fixed. They probably could have gave a 15 yarder for hanging on the goal post instead of outright banning it but I get why they did it.

Some of the tweets regarding this new rule are downright hilarious.

They should just make it a penalty if you hang on it or move it in any way. I understand the practical nature of the penalty because it is affecting the game if someone wrecks the equipment, but most of the time there are just no issues with it.

I'm just glad the Seahawks didn't sign him.

Eh, I would have rather went to Seattle or even Green Bay. But I guess it comes down to the classic question. Do you want your last shot at a ring or a huge paycheck?

Manziel had a really good proday

I counted 63-65 completions with one drop and one maybe-overthrow. Better proday than both Bortles and Bridgewater.

15M guaranteed

Good for him, still doesnt mean he'll play more than 2 years of that deal.

The Bears basically replaced one aging DE in Peppers with another more expensive one.

He's been a solid backup the past few years, not sure if he thinks he has a shot to start there?

This makes me fear for who our backup QB might be. I cant imagine we'll go into a season with Kellen Moore backing up Stafford.

Could be worse. You could have Tim Tebow or Matt Moore as your backups. :o
