Karma's a female dog, eh Dallas fans?
Best part to me is the quick death of the shortest-lived fan claim ever:

"The NFL helps the Cowboys win"

I mean, it didn't make sense last week when several key penalties went against the Cowboys and helped put them in a hole in the first place (and the league reversed the Suh suspension too), but that claim looks even more silly this week.

I'm just referring to Dallas fans specifically because of their overabundance where I live, and the constant trash talking I heard all week.

I had fans walk in where I work and complain. Then I log on to Facebook and Twitter and see the same thing.

There were a lot of arrogant fans that got their humble pie. At the same time, though, I completely understand the frustration by both fan bases (even though I think the call in the Lions/Cowboys game was worse).
Sounds like a normal fan base. Best example ever is how Lions fans were acting the exact same way last week.

Bragging fans usually get shut up at some point...that's sports. In this case the fans who were claiming the refs were helping the Cowboys come off even worse.

Ugh the internet makes such a big deal out of everything now. John Elway slipped and instead of saying John Fox, said John Elway on accident and people are jumping all over a simple mistake.

Oh, I don't think anyone disagree Peyton is an all-time elite QB. But, I think his playoff exits take him out of the best of all-time debate, for me. Manning is the best regular season QB ever, but he isn't the best QB ever.

Agreed. His post-season work, sadly, eliminates him from the "Greatest of All Time" discussion.

It's just not there.

If it weren't for the sole Bowl win he has, he would be among guys like Dan Marino as the Greatest of All Time Who Never Won The Big One.

He is very lucky to have the one win to cement his legacy. That said.... it is most definitely his regular season stats that will get him into the HOF on the first ballot.

^:lmao:

...

...damn, that makes me feel so bad for Fox. On paper, that dude didn't do anything wrong by NFL standards.

It was no accident. Deep down, we know it to be true.

And even still, outside of the AFC championship game that year (which I believe is still his greatest game, although he helped put them in the hole he ultimately dug them out of) he was horrible the whole way through to the Superbowl. As maligned as they were during his tenure in Indy, his defense that season certainly saved his legacy...

"Hi, folks. I’d like to begin by giving a huge thank you to John Elway... whoops, I mean John Fox… nah, f*** it, I meant myself. Seriously. This crappy team couldn’t even with a Super Bowl after loading up on offensive and defensive players three years in a row. They’re hopeless. They might look really good in the regular season, but once they get to the playoffs, they’re toast.

Oh, what was that? Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time? Yeah, okay. Ask Captain Endorsements how many of those MVP awards he'd gladly exchange for the ability to beat a quarterback in the Super Bowl not named Rex Grossman.

You want to know if he'll be back next year? What the hell do you think? What does Peyton Manning have in life, other than throwing regular season touchdown passes and hocking crap for anybody who will pay him enough? Next year will be more of the same. We'll coast to another division win, hopefully embarrassing Philip Rivers again a couple times because who doesn't love that, and then we'll get knocked out of the postseason after the bye week.

Losing John Fox and probably Adam Gase doesn't mean jack, since (as I'm sure all of you already know) Peyton has been running the offense the whole time. Fox and Gase usually don't even show up to practice. You know why John Fox always looks half-asleep and/or drunk on the sidelines? Because he usually is. Letting him go won't mean anything. I can't wait to see what teams pick him and Gase up in the hopes that they'll turn their organizations around. I hope we play those teams next season and every season until Fox and Gase get sh**canned. I actually wanted to bring in Rex Ryan as our next HC just as a joke, but the Bills got to him first because they believe they can win with him. That's even more hilarious.

So yeah, I have no idea who we're going to hire at this point. Does it matter? Hey, you in the back. Yeah, you. Cool tie. Want to be our next head coach? It's basically $5 million a year to stand around and look mildly interested in what's going on. I know that's a pretty big salary for someone with no coaching experience, but hey, it's not my money. Pat Bowlen is basically just paying me to smile and say things like, "We're moving this team in the right direction" without laughing.

And why wouldn't he? The fans worship me like I'm some sort of deity, returned to Denver after all these years to impart my divine wisdom on all of you primatives. And sure, things might be looking better around here than they did when Manchild McDaniels was coaching your team, or when you were starting Bibleman at QB, but Denver will never win another Super Bowl unless the U.S. government figures out the formula to Captain America serum and injects me with it so I can come back and play for them.

So worship me, Denver. I'm all you've got. Your team peaked with me and you know it. The good old days are never coming back.”

Pretty sure the claim was singular in that the League helped the Cowboys win, as in that particular game, so they could get their beloved Packers vs Cowboys matchup in the playoffs at Lambeau so Joe Buck could derp on for 3 hours about "Ice Bowl 2." Once they got the match-up, anything goes.

Claiming they help the Cowboys win on a consistent basis would be a ludicrous assertion given the last decade.

The Lions/Cowboys game and the Packers/Cowboys game arent really analogous. In the former, you had the correct call made on the field and then inexplicably picked up for no good reason. And then the NFL later came out and admitted that they blew it. In the latter, you had the replay officials follow the letter of the law on what defines a catch and overturn an incorrect call on the field. It's a stupid rule, trust me we were the first to get burned by it I know, but it's still the rule.

Lions fans have a way more legitimate gripe with the incompetence of on field officiating than Dallas fans do. Cowboys fans issues should be with the NFL Rulebook if anything.

The "Let it Go" chick is going to sing the national anthem at the SB.

Oh she can sing, no doubt. But even the best of singers tend to continue the championship game tradition of screwing up the anthem.

I'd rather a trained stage performer do it than the usual pop artist who is the flavor of the year.

It coulda been Iggy.

Say what, say can you see
I be seein' what I'm seein' and

Cowboys fans were pretty amazed anyone could make that claim. Jerry Jones was wondering why they took that massive hit to the salary cap a few years back if the NFL was trying to "help them win".

So the claim is, "The NFL helps the Cowboys win....except when they don't". So the league wants the ratings one week...then stops caring about ratings? (the Cowboys always mean bigger ratings)

That certainly leaves fans a lot of latitude! Can't ever be wrong.

It even worked for the Dallas/Detroit game. The league was "helping the Cowboys win" on one play. That allowed fans to ignore all the calls that went against the Cowboys in that game which helped put them behind in the first place. Running into the kicker...easy to ignore if you want to "help the Cowboys win". Take a touchdown off the board with a penalty against the Cowboys?...that didn't seem too "helpful". Shouldn't they have called this one to negate a TD for the Lions if they wanted that Dallas/Green Bay game?

It's really the same thing. A complaint about the way a play is interpreted. One play fans think it should have been interference, the other fans think it should have been a catch.

I think the official had every right to view the play the way he did in Lions/Cowboys. He must have noticed the receiver holding the defender's facemask...which did not allow the defender to turn to see the ball....which of course meant he would make contact when the receiver came to a dead stop to try and catch a badly underthrown ball. No other option for any defender there. At some point you gotta let them play.

Should Cowboys fans have the right to complain about this?

Report: NFL tells Dallas Cowboys they missed 7 penalty calls against Detroit Lions

So....Jerry Jones wins Executive of the Year for finally letting other people do the job? How does that make sense?

That's like getting a raise at work for calling in sick more often.
