It could but not necessary at all, unless it just wants to do it to go against Superman/Batman even more. Both lose that way.

I don't know why Disney and Marvel bumped it up to summer. It's crazy packed already, and Disney will be swimming in money from Avengers 2 and Inside Out already.

I think it would've been just fine in the fall, but probably not against Bond 24.

Wasn't it due to Pirate 5 being moved to 2016?

There's that too, but Disney never gave an official answer why Ant-Man was being bumped up. If it was taking POTC 5's place, it would've been July 10 -- a week before BvS. Disney already has two big blockbusters on tap for summer 2015. Methinks Marvel wants to try that strategy they employed for 2011 and are doing for 2016 as well (the "2.5 month gap" strategy).

I think if Thor 2 does really well this November, I think Disney will move Ant-Man back to the fall. Big-budget movies that open on the cusp of August don't usually perform as well as May-July because summer is starting to wind down.

I know we all know this, but December 18, 2015! Star Wars!

It's nice to have a release date.

Yup! Star Wars is being released a week before Christmas.

Obviously some movies will flop and under perform but regardless, the GA will still watch many of these movies.

Where should they move Warcraft and Inferno (if they had to stay in 2015).

April and August are so open right now. Though for the sake of Warcraft, it does help the post-production if the movie gets a release later in the year. Inferno could open in April though if they start shooting early next year.

Inferno isn't really under risk, now Warcraft may be, they should be careful where they place it.
