You realize the packers have to go into dallas and win...then into Atlanta or Seattle... thats a tough road to the SB.

as for Seattle winning in Atlanta... based on what? the first game we clearly got screwed out of? our offense is ridiculous. Seattle better put up 35 to win.

Cowboys will wreck Green Bay next week.

My thoughts on the Giants Packers game was whoever won this was going to represent the NFC in the Superbowl and I'm going to stick with it.

As an Eagles fan, I can't stand the Giants and I hate the Cowboys. Saying that, I still think the Giants have a better team than QB. Those first quarter TD drops really hurt them. That would have swung momentum in the Giants favor. The Hail Mary throw (which was, again, amazing, by Arod, but also...**** him) just killed them. That defense wasn't the same in the second half.

Hopefully the Cowboys are one and done this week and eventually, we get a Brady vs Rodgers Superbowl. Nothing more I'd love to see, as a fan, is the two best QBs in the game going at it.

I'm just amazed the Phins made the playoffs. It feels like they won their games with smoke and mirrors. Hopefully they can learn from this and get better next year. This year, they beat one team with a winning record. And that one team got their revenge today. Next year, Miami will have a second place schedule...

I'm a huge Dolphins fan and this entire situation reminds of the 2008 season when they got lucky and took advantage of a weak schedule and a QB that got hot for a stretch of games. Everything fell apart the following season when the schedule got tough. Dark days are ahead for the phins.

Over New England?
Or the Steelers.

It is a tough road. But it wouldn't be the first time.

Oh, I forgot you were a Falcons fan. Yeah, I am going to go with the team that can play both sides of the ball and has the playoff experience in that one.

Go with whoever you want... I wonder what the Panthers are doing right now.

lol... its going to be a long week waiting for the next round... at least we have the national championship later.

Yeah, very excited for that game tomorrow night. Still, that means another 4 days of waiting.

I hope that's not the case, but you're right about the situation. Also, both were/are first years for first time head coaches. I just hope Gase turns out better than Sporano did.

And the relevance to this is? I mean, the Steelers haven't done much better of late. They needed to play two backup QBs to get their post season wins. Tomlin hasn't been much different than Lewis since 2011 or thereabouts.

i am so enjoying the Detroit media's attempt to justify the decision to keep Marvin Lewis 2.0 Jim Caldwell. I don't think a more mediocre and uninspiring coach has ever existed. Yet Detroit's press is pretending that he accomplished something by making the playoffs. Forget that Detroit entered the final three games with a two game lead in the division and somehow blew it. Forget that they wouldn't have made it if New York did the sensible thing and rested starters against Washington (in other words, forget that this is a team that had a two game division lead at the start of week 15 and by week 17 didn't even control their own destiny, only making the playoffs by the charity/stupidity of the inbred hillbilly that is Bob McAdoo...I'm just insulting everyone today). Forget that almost all of their wounds are self inflicted. They did what nearly 40 % of the league does and made playoffs so let's all praise Jim Caldwell and accept more mediocrity.

I suppose I should expect no less from the franchise that hangs banners in the stadium for playoff appearances. :lmao: That fact sort of underlines the praise of Caldwell and explains why Detroit won't be competitive until something changes. This is not just a franchise that accepts mediocrity. They celebrate it. And the fans and local sports media, rather than scrutinizing it, do the same. I wouldn't be surprised if the city held a parade for the Lions.

If it seems I am making fun, I'm not. I am totally empathetic and related. The Lions are the Pittsburgh Pirates of football, and that sucks for their fans.

Caldwell has 2 playoff appearances in 3 seasons. That's Lombardi-esque by our franchise's standard. Although I'm not sure where you're getting that the local media is going easy on Caldwell? They've in fact been pretty critical of the guy.

Well, not for nothing but leaving Roethlisberger in the game in the fourth, resulting in his ankle being injured, kind of proves my point about Tomlin. Hell, he didn't just leave him in the game...he was passing and exposing him to the sack with a three score lead. Like I said...shortsighted.

I agree with that. Luckily the reports said that Roethlisberger's injury is not bad at all even though a walking boot is one hell of a precaution for nothing. I'm guessing the Joey Porter news is definitely not helping things.

Wow... Green Bay has a good offense for a few weeks and everyone forgets the Falcons... who have been doing it all year.

Go Falcons.

This is why I believe Matt Ryan deserves the MVP award over Aaron Rodgers and it'd be a crime if it was reversed. Matt Ryan throughout the season has been doing what Aaron Rodgers did in the last few weeks. And Atlanta has gotten a better overall record with what seems like a worse defense.

As of late, Pittsburgh swept your team and won the division title.

They needed to play two backup QBs to get their post season wins.

And how many total post season wins does Cincinnati have in 25 years?

Tomlin hasn't been much different than Lewis since 2011 or thereabouts.

I've missed you, JewishHobbit. All these flavors out here and you chose salty.

So, no different then any other Wildcard round as a Bengals fan.
It sure is refreshing not having to watch us suck up the joint on wildcard weekend, isn't it? :funny:

We had about one good half of football this weekend.

My bold prediction, the Texans will beat The Pats.

Only way Seahawks or Packers beat Falcons is if they score over 35 points because I don't think any team in the NFL can stop ATLs O. Seahawks have no chance. Packers do if Rodgers carries on the way he has recently.

That Seattle/Atlanta game will be rather interesting.

Did anyone expect differently? Everyone knew this season would likely be a toss for Cincinnati while they adjusted to all the changes.

I love your originality here. Did you come up with it yourself?

Who's salty? I know you're trying to irritate but it's not working. Just stating some facts that Pittsburgh fans like to ignore.

Anyway...

I'm actually stoked about the season Cincinnati just had. I threw this season out early and knew a playoff run was a reach, so I didn't really have too much of a problem watching them lose. I was watching the games to gage the future of the team and honestly loved what I saw. A.J. Green was having his best year before the injury. LaFell unexpectedly matched Marvin Jones' 2015 year and Boyd surpassed Sanu's 2015 year (or round about... I don't remember the exact numbers now). And then Erickson ended up the top returner in the AFC in his rookie year and Core, who didn't play much until the end, played really well. Even Marvin Lewis said he should have been playing the young guys sooner (SHOCK!). Being that the WR unit was the question mark coming into the year, I'm happy about our future there. I'd prefer one more speedy receiver to maybe take Wright's spot since he can't stay healthy. Eifert was never healthy so he should bounce back next year, and I think we actually have a decent back up now with Uzomah (and maybe Kroft, but he didn't play as much).

Our defense wasn't very good at first but picked up in the end. Then consider that many of our young players were out due to injury, we have the pieces to improve the weak spots. People like Jackson III, Billings, Hardison, and the safety whose name I'm blanking out on at the moment. There should be some plug and play young guys there that will probably improve our Defense just by being there.

Then add the fact that we're drafting high this year and tend to draft well, that's awfully exciting. And that we'll probably be trading A.J. McCarron for something decent to help out. I figure draft a couple Defensive and O-Line needs, maybe a young RB, and we're good to go. I'm also curious how we handle the o-line problem this off season. Obviously something went wrong. Westerman will probably help.

Anyway, yeah I'm excited for the Bengals right now. Can't wait for the official off season shenanigans to get going.

Hey now, see my posts on the past few pages before grouping all Steelers fans together as Tomlin apologists.
